  I'm playing the game "Railroad Tycoon 2-Gold edition" on my laptop which is running Windows 7. You need to run and install Virtual PC XP Mode to have any chance of a fully operational 16-bit subsystem. If you are running Windows 7 Professional or ultimate, you can use Windows XP Mode and Virtual PC without a second license of Windows.

  I'm looking to upgrade my current Windows XP 32 bit on a 64 bit OS without windows 8. I have a video editing software that doesn't work in 64-bit windows versions, my PC is compatible :)

  My reasons for not going to 8 are: some of my vital software is not compatible and I tried it on a friends computer and didn't like it.

  So the question is, can I access Windows XP 64 bits as an upgrade from Microsoft? I could go to 7 but in reality, xp64 is enough then. I've seen full versions of xp64 for sale online, but they are full price (unlike 8 which is only $39.99)

• two databases on the same windows machine. Unable to connect to a database.

  I installed two databases(11g) DB1 (ORCL) DB2 (DST) on windows vista. I am able to connect to the ORCL database only and connecting to the DST, I get the following error. The tnsentry is as below.
