on the reduction of size of file in Acrobat 9 Pro

I am involved in a long ongoing project between my organization and 35 other organizations in 5 States. This project is to maintain the Group regularly updated documents to share with each of the parties, and the majority of the beneficiaries is limited to less than 10 MB email. The documents are created from different sources - Wordprocessors, Web pages, spreadsheets, editing images, and e-mail. The documents must be sent in PDF format.

Our initial presentation is made mainly of Web pages (which we print and then analyze) and Government reports already in PDF format. This first communication is a little more than 300 pages, and the size of the file is 12 MB.

I can't get the smaller document.

I'm working on a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit workstation, locked by my employer (no administrator access - so not allowed other facilities, some advanced options has also rejected).

I use Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional.

I tried the steps so far:

  • Advanced > PDF Optimization >
    • Lees - images = 89 percent, content of 10%,
    • make compatible with 6 and later versions
    • images bicubic to 100 ppi, to 100 ppi grayscale, monochrome color to 100 ppi
    • fonts (scanned doc contains no embedded fonts)
    • Throw all the objects
    • Take all user data
    • clean everything except throw unref name dest (compress entire file)
      • result: 12.2 MB = > 10.9 MB - not a significant reduction, not useful.
  • Document > optimize scanned PDF document >
    • Located on the second level on the left, small
    • self-righting, low BG remove, shadow of careful edge, clean down, automatic Descreening, removal of halo on
      • result: 10.9 mb by top = > 12.6 MB - note file increase more original
      • Choose Save as optimized file = > 12.4 mb - even larger than the original size
  • Document > reduce file size > make it compatible with 6.0
      • result: used original 12.2 MB = > 11.4 MB - still not acceptable to email
  • File > save as > type optimized pdf
      • result: used original 12.2 MB = > 10.9 MB - still too large to email
  • File > print > printer (use Adobe PDF printer)
    • Print in advance put in place 150 dpi > > transparency flattening low res, composite color
    • Properties of Adobe PDF > smaller size of the file
    • Adobe PDF properties > paper/quality > advanced > change of graphic 1200 at 300 dpi print quality > color black and white together
      • result: 12.2 mb original = > 16.1 MB - not acceptable

This project is underway. This project is paper intensive. Tools using third-party is not an option. Use of compression utilities or Zip may help in some circumstances, but

Any help to understand the Acrobat optimize and file reduction process would be great

You push things, especially if they color 24 bit info charts. Without compression, the size would be about 264 MB or over 300 pages and 1 byte per pixel. You might be able to crop the page to make it smaller. Just for the heck of it you can print in a new PDF (refry) and see if you get an improvement. In this case, set your properties desired in the printer (perhaps even more small file size since there is no fonts).

  • Using Adobe Presenter will not solve the problem of police when I use Acrobat Connect Pro?

So my fonts in my PowerPoint presentation are not preserved when I use Acrobat Connect Pro (as it is not one of the Adobe fonts). I saw that a member of staff said that thanks to Adobe Presenter it should solve this problem, so if I buy Adobe Presenter and use it on my presentation it will preserve my fonts and also my animations/transitions, etc? Thanks in advance

It should be. The problem is that when you load a PPT (X) at Adobe Connect it converts to a Presenter presentation. However, it can use only the fonts on the server, which is the basic MS fonts. Publishing locally with the presenter should allow you to use the fonts you have on your computer, so this issue. Your animations and transitions must also be preserved, but you will have your animations sur-Cliquer for control when they are placed in Presenter.

  • Image mask Error Message When the reduction in size of the PDF

With my Mac, I include jpg images in Microsoft Word documents, save them as pdf files and reduce them. Reduced size often fails with the error message "The PDF content document image masks which were not sous-échantillonnées".  JPEGs don't have masks, so I have no idea how to solve this problem, and a thorough search of google was no help.

Use PNG images instead use an application like converter of graphics, Fireworks to convert .png to .jpg.

Will be much better images that degrade not every time that they are open and more often they end up being of same size as jpeg format

JPEG unless you save it as a special type is a lossy format, and each time is open (and unzipped) and closed (and then compressed) details of losses

Just open and enlarge an image jpeg after its been open 5 - 20 times you notice one out of the halo update similar looking for water discharged on paper wil pen ink on this subject. And it get worse gradually. PNG however is not fixed and if the original is saved as png never degrade even when reduced in size or or expand within reasonable limits in size.  I have in dealing with photos screenshots, pictures and others for years. Despite what others may say on this list can say if you want a picture with little bad for years of service save in png.

  • Recommendations to reduce the footprint of 3.37 Gig in Acrobat XI Pro Windows 8

    Hello

After you have installed Windows 8, 2013 Office, Visio, Project, etc. on my new PC which has a 45G partition for the operating system (it's a Linux dual-boot with a shared data partition machine), I feel a pain.

Acrobat Pro XI takes Gig 3.37 according to add/remove programs, and this seems excessive to me. http://www.Adobe.com/CA/products/acrobatpro/tech-specs.html#XI said it takes only 1.85 Gig.

If I try to uninstall 'Create a PDF' or 'FormsCentral', which seem to be the only options in the 'change install', I get same 200M.

    What gives?

    Hello

I've tested this on my end and found that the basic version is taking 1.85 GB but after you apply the updates up to 11.0.3, we have the size has increased to 3.37 GB.

the minimum system requirements for the basic version and rest refer to the date of issue.

  • Can print files to Acrobat 9 Pro with vector header and footer?

    OK-obviosly I don't know what I'm asking!

    Let me explain-

I want to be able to take a Word file or xls and when I print to Acrobat I have my logo as a vector image.  I don't want any documents to my clients who have raster images.  I know-weird and anal.

Now I put a png in word or xls file and save as PDF.  Or I use InDesign CS4 and manually copy / paste the content in the file.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

The problem is that your original image is a PNG file. It is a bitmap image. You should start with a vector and use it in your WORD file. The end result should be vector in this case. Print in PDF format will not change a bitmap to a vector graphic. EMF, EPS and other general forms can contain graphics bitmap or vector, but like I said your departure point was a bitmap PNG file and so you're stuck with bitmap unless you back up and redo your logo.

  • Reduction in size of the older PDF files

Hello, I want to reduce the size of a large number of PDF files which will be available for download on a site I'm building. These PDF files have been created a few years ago and in most cases, the fonts have been converted to outlines. I want to reduce the size of PDFs with Acrobat 9 Pro. I tried one and the size went from 2.3 Mb to 156 Kb when I saved as an Acrobat 7. These can be read by anyone using Acrobat Reader. End-users will only look at one and read PDF files. Thanks in advance for the answers.

    Hi stephenm26904611,

Thank you for your bug report about the extension to create a file PDF Acrobat being disabled in FF v43.

It is a known issue and we are working on that.

We intend to provide support in the future updates.

Meanwhile, as a solution, you can use Adobe Create PDF extension for Chome and Internet Explorer, or use Acrobat to convert web pages to PDF.

    Thank you

  • Why exported file rises unalterable in Adobe Acrobat 9 pro?

Hello. Would appreciate any help anyone can give me. I spent the last two weeks of work on a scientific poster for my brother, who is a doctor. I did work at Adobe.com and came to the realization that I wasn't going to be able to save outside the program, since it is a trial.

However, I came across the Export command and exported in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. Only problem is now a read-only file. I can't handle the text. The poster will be about 3' X 3' and now it has been formatted for 8 pages 1/2 "X 11". I think that people Fed Ex will need editing power.

So, anyone know if I can change this document to edit? Tried to record on a USB key, but that no longer works.

(Please help me! This Adobe site is so complicated, it's driving me crazy!)

    Thank you!

    Beth

What application you use. Export is not an option in Acrobat, but it is typical of a lot of software packages that create PDF files. Ownership of the PDF file as a text or a graph as mentioned graffiti is an important part of this issue. The service you use apparently will probably charge an arm and a leg for any changes.

  • I reinstall CS4 after failure of hard drive and everything works except Acrobat 9 Pro. I'm under El Capitan on MacbookPro. I reinstalled Acrobat but when I open I only get Word to Acrobat in the finder without options and it does not open.

I reinstall the CS4 Master Collection after failure of the card logical and all work EXCEPT Acrobat 9 Pro. I'm under El Capitan on a Macbook Pro. The program worked with El Capitan until the logic board failure - I use it every day.  I reinstalled the entire Collection, but when I open I get that Word to Acrobat in the finder without other menus - the application does not open. As a first step, I get an error message.

Acrobat has detected there are missing components

    Adobe Pdf Finder

    Adobe PDF Viewer plug.

I tried to uncheck the boxes, but no difference.

How can I get an operational program again? If Acrobat Pro 9 is no longer supported, how to get a version supported by software that works on my computer?

    Thank you.

Thanks for the explanation. I actually have to install Acrobat and it now works. I downloaded and installed Adobe Reader XI (I think, http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/mac/11.x/11.0.02/en_US/AdbeRdr11002_en_US.dmg ) and opened the program. I noticed that after I opened the new drive, my Adobe Reader 9 program began to work. After that, I tried to open Acrobat and instead of getting the error 6 message that I had before, I had an error on a question of license that would require me to uninstall and reinstall the software. Once I did these steps my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro started working! Don't know why my program, but it is fully functional again. I hope it helps someone else, I have why I came to answer.
