  • Purchase desktop with Vista above... is there a "free" or discounted for Windows upgrade?

About 6 years ago I bought a new edition special desktop HP Pavilion at Future Shop.  Now I don't get updates, or the software corrects more.   Windows 10 is free for new versions...  Is there a discounted '10' for Vista and earlier versions of windows?   If I have to pay full price, this will be the 5th time that I pay for a new version of windows.  Please let know us if there is a download available.

    Hello

Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.

There is no free upgrade or discounted Vista to 7, 8.1, or 10.

Follow these steps before you buy Windows 7.

Microsoft sells more than 7; Try Amazon.com.

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Lol you cannot use Anytime Upgrade upgrading Vista to Windows 7.   The Vista program to THE was the upgrade of a Vista edition to a higher edition of Vista only.  The Vista program to THE ended when Vista was removed from retail sales.  It has never been free.

THE present program is to upgrade an edition of Windows 7 to a superior and is only available to current users of Windows 7.

If you want to upgrade Vista to Windows 7, you must purchase a standard upgrade of Windows 7 at retail price.  Please see

  • Questions about upgrading Vista to Windows 7 for free as it was offered once?

Several years ago I got when I was with Windows XP I spoke to Microsoft and said I could use the 64-bit and 32-bit disk on different computers, by using the same product key, but there are certain requirements.  I think the 2 computers were to be in the same place and I was the owner.  I'm a little hazy on the rules, but I know that I learned that I could use both versions 32 and 64 different bits with the same key.  I have a desktop running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional and a laptop running Vista.  Both are registered for me, but the laptop was a gift from our son for the wife who is disabled and never leaves the House except for visits to the doctor.  It comes preinstalled with Vista, but there were so many problems with Vista, Microsoft offers an automatic upgrade to Windows 7 at the time.  I never took advantage of this because Best Buy, where the laptop was purchased, wanted to get paid to do the upgrade.  My wife is now having a lot of trouble with various programs with Vista, I have two disc of Windows 7 Professional, I received directly from Microsoft, a 32-bit and 64-bit.  There is only 1 button, but I learned the upgrade to Windows 7 was supposed to be free.  I have much more knowledge now and can install the update myself, but can I use the 32 bit disc and the very key to do.  Otherwise, I would use the 32-bit disk and get a new key?  Where can I get a new key for the Vista upgrade to Windows 7 for free as it was offered once?

This is incorrect information, product key for 1 license 1, 1 computer.

Yes, and you can use it to activate on the same computer architecture.

Sorry, but this offer no longer exist.

The Windows 7 Upgrade Option program debuted on June 26, 2009 , it provides that anyone who buys a PC to a participant OEM or retailer with Windows Vista Home Premium, Business or Ultimate to receive an upgrade to the corresponding version of Windows 7 at a cost little or not. The Option Windows 7 upgrade program will be available until January 31, 2010 and is global.

  • I will be able to qualify for the Windows upgrade free 10?

    Hello world

First time display, but I have a question that I would really like an answer to. I have a laptop pretty old (Sony VAIO 2009 or 2010) and it came with Vista, but it was a Windows 7 free upgrade, so it is running Windows 7. I saw that Windows 7 users would be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free and I was wondering if this method applied to me. Would I be able to upgrade to Windows 10 free with my old product ID? Thank you.

Thanks for the reply. I'll be also able to use it on a generation of the computer that I plan on building using my old product ID (from the laptop) to this topic, or I have to buy another Windows operating system?

No, you can buy a full license for this computer. The free update is installed just for devices with Windows 7 or 8.1.

A work around is to install the current Preview on the machine and qualify for the final.
