OPA 10.4.3 - Application Server required

Dear support team,

We plan to implement Oracle policy Automation 10.4.3 for one of our customer.

We are looking for some advice on the recommendations of server hardware and planning of the ability on your part.

1, RAM - suggest

2. HARD drive - suggest

3 processor - suggest

And also the number of servers required for the installation of the OPA on the production environment.

Your quick action in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Recommendations for material joint capacity Planning & Server

for around the users of 500-1000

1, RAM - 1 GB

2 disk HARD - 10 GB (depends on the application server used and the size of the deployed application)

3 processor - recommendation of application server

The number of servers required for the installation of the OPA on the production environment

Depends on how much fault tolerance is required and the number of parallel users. 2 minimum application servers are recommended.

  • How to install Oracle policy Automation in Oracle Application Server?

    We plan to use OPA with Oracle Ebusiness Suite release 12.1. We run the application Oracle 11 g server. We want to deploy the components Oracle policy Automation to the same server to Oracle Ebusiness suite applications.

    (a) how to install the engine of determinations of Oracle, Oracle Server of determinations on Oracle Application Server and Oracle Web determinations? The document setup for OPA is not for Oracle Application Server.
    (b) what is the best deploy the OPA in separate server or in the same Oracle Ebusiness Suite server?
    (c) how to decide whether to use Java APIs using Engine determination or web services using determination server or UI Web determinations for our project? Or what factors should be considered?

    Thanks for the help.

    -Sreeram.H

    (a) you must install the files of war for determination of Oracle server and Oracle Web determinations according to the normal deployment of war - there is no special action required, this is why it does not appear explicitly. There is no reason to deploy Oracle engine determinations itself to a web application server.

    (b) "better" tends to be more a subjective point of view, but if you already deploy all your web services on the same server as Oracle E-Business Suite, then you should go the same for the OPA. Same story for deployment on a separate server.

    (c) cannot answer without knowing why you're using OPA! If you are looking to integrate with Oracle E-Business Suite Oracle Server determinations would be the wise choice. Determinations of Web is very useful if you want a smart way to collect or examine relevant evaluation data for decisions, as well as the scenarios of "self service". Engine determinations should be used if you have a scenario of integration completely on measure that can use web services or web - applications, but I can't imagine a scenario where it would be logical if you are using Oracle E-Business Suite.

    Of course, these are just my point of view - others may feel more strongly one way or the other!

  • How to deploy the business on Oracle Application Server rule

    OPA dear team,

    We have a requirement in which we integrate the OPA with BPEL. We must define the rules of modeling tool Oracle policy and deploy it in Oracle Application Server.We will then that wsdl and call the rule of BPEL partner links engine. By default the Oracle Policy modeling tool deploys for tomcat. Ask your input about how we can deploy on oracle application server.

    So my question is how to deploy a rulebase.zip a determination server that runs on Oracle Weblogic Server 11g?

    Thank you
    Brian

    Normally, an application server will expand the war for the web application file works from the expanded location. When this is the case, you can deploy a new one simply by copying the module zip file in the directory WEB-INF/classes/rulebases .

    However, Weblogic is not extend the web application, there is no directory to copy the file zip of modules on.

    It is possible to run the determinations under weblogic server so that you can deploy a new modules without restarting the server of determinations. There are two technqiues to achieve this.

    1. you can manually unzip the .war file somewhere that the weblogic server can see locally and then deploy the .war file expanded as the determinations server web app. If you do that you can deploy a new modules by copying the zip file in the directory WEB-INF/classes/rulebases to this place.

    2. it is possible to specify a rulebases directory that is not in the web application. In this case, it should be a place the web application can be done locally. You can deploy a new modules by copying the rulebase.zip file to the location specified modules.

    You specify a different directory to search rulebases by setting a java system property: determinations.server.rulebase.dir.

    Example of

    -Ddeterminations.server.rulebase.dir=/some/other/dir/rulebases

  • Print file .rep directly on the printer, configure the application server

    Hello

    I spent several hours on this forum and unfortunately not found a solution yet so hoping someone has an idea that can help me solve this problem.

    Using forms/States of oracle 11g with a linux application server, we develop on windows machines. Printing reports using compiled .rep files.

    We have a network printer sharing (HP) that is configured on the application server, and we can print on the correct printer directly on the application server.

    Problem is when I try to print a report when executing the forms of oracle on my machine of development directly to the printer.

    I tried:

    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (l_repid, report_destype, printer);

    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (l_repid, report_desname, 'APPSERVER_PRINTER_NAME');

    When I put the report_desformat in 'pdf' format I can see the reports to enter the print queue, but they do not reach a 'State' order ' print file empty. "

    When I remove report_desformat, he sends in eps and as I understand it, it prints, but with bad formatting (I work remotely and run by what their colleagues say.)

    CUPS 1.4.2 reference printer queue tab.

    The report generates in the browser if I change the destype to produce and use web_show_document to display it as we usually do.

    I understand there are solutions using a java bean or involving the installation of the software on the client computer, but my employer is unwilling to go to that direction. We have only a handful of reports that require the ability to print directly to the printer.

    That someone has an idea of what the problem might be or help provide additional steps, I can take to solve problems? I have no idea how to do to configure printers, our IT Department managed this and they say, it's good so I don't know if there is a problem with what I'm doing or there was something installation related rate with this network printer.

    Thanks in advanced for any assistance!

    I have given up trying to use a report_desformat of pdf and paste it with the default value of the eps, after review, it seems pretty close match that generates pdf format and despite the fact that the queue on the application server throws a misprint even with the eps format it actually always draws for the good enough for now. Would be nice to know what happened here, but the problem has been resolved.

  • Download file from the database server, through application server.

    Nice day

    DownloadFile.png

    I get a way to do this. Please suggest.

    Best regards,

    Julien

    The session does not expire if you are streaming data from the application to the client. However, you will need to manage the data sent over the network, because it can make the very slow network if you send this amount of data at high speeds on the network and then to the customer. This connection between client and server is the biggest problem, because bandwidth is usually small. Think about downloading software by one side oracle (for example 1 GB), this takes time and is prone to errors.

    We did something similar by transferring the data from the database (in our case, it has been stored in a BLOB) on a dedicated server with a server web apache on it. Then, we send a link to the client, which then uses the link to get the special file server data.

    The advantage is that you don't have to code the transfer of huge files in the application of the adf but can already use ready to use of software (balancing bandwidth and the recovery of a broken download).

  • webutil read file function finds the file on the application server

    Hello

    I want to select and read a file (possibly .pdf) and save it to the database.

    To achieve this, I:

    1) created a table, deltia (key primary aa, varchar2, blob, other columns... image_blob, filename)

    (2) created a block form of database based on the deltia table. The element of the "image_blob" column type is image

    and the image format is "tiff".

    (3) wrote the following piece of code to perform the selection of local file (successfully)

    Select the FUNCTION (i_FileFiltre IN Varchar2 default vDefFileExt)

    RETURN VARCHAR2

    IS

    vPath Varchar2 (128);

    vFileName Varchar2 (256);

    vFileFiltre Varchar2 (200): = i_FileFiltre;

    Begin

    vPath: = CLIENT_WIN_API_ENVIRONMENT. Get_Temp_Directory;

    vFileName: = WEBUTIL_FILE. FILE_OPEN_DIALOG

    (

    vPath,

    '',

    vFileFiltre,

    "Select the file to download.

    ) ;

    Return vFileName;

    END selection;

    The form above function call is:

    Declare

    vFileName Varchar2 (200);

    Begin

    vFileName: = PKG_File_Ops.Selection;

    If vFileName is not null then

    : eq_deltia_metakinhshs. Filename: = vFileName;

    End if;

    End;

    (4) wrote the piece of code to the game/place the file selected in the form element "image_blob", as following:

    client_image.read_image_file (: eq_deltia_metakinhshs.filename,)

    substr (: eq_deltia_metakinhshs.filename, instr (: eq_deltia_metakinhshs.filename,-1)).

    "eq_deltia_metakinhshs.deltio_image");

    The call to the packaged procedure client_image.read_image_file does not work. It returns error

    "47109 - cannot locate the/u01/oracle/temp /... image file"

    In other words, the system will search to read the selected file locally on the server App.

    If it is correct, then your webutil.cfg is not been set correctly.  Entries for transfer.appsrv are in reference to the appsrv and not the client.  So you currently C:\temp which is a directory of Windows and not Unix.

    (2) Transfer.appsrv.Read.1 =c:\temp. It is already set.

    3) Transfer.appsrv.Write.1=c:\temp. It is already set.

  • Application server

    Hello

    Is there a scale down version of oracle web server for which no additional license is required for the production environment and is provided with the forms of oracle application server products and license reports?

    If any body knows about it can you please provide suggest how we can install it?

    Thank you

    For detailed answers to licensing issues, please contact your Account Manager or a representative of the Oracle sales.

    As I said in my previous post:

    For the needs of the design time , you would need a license "Internet Developer Suite" (iDS).  For a production deployment, you will need the following:

    • Forms and reports (does not include the ID)
    • Internet - Enterprise Edition application server (does not include the ID)
    • WebLogic Server Suite (does not include the ID)

    More information on deployment licenses can be found here:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E23943_01/doc.1111/e14860/TOC.htm

    Your interests will be likely covered in sections 1.2, 1.3 and 1.18

    Usually about the use of the different versions, licenses are not related to versions. They are related to technology.  As mentioned above, please contact your Account Manager or a sales representative Oracle for details that apply to your specific situation.

  • Business Publisher in Oracle Application Server

    Hello

    I'm looking to deploy the BPA business editor (10.1.3.4) on a 10.1.3.4 Oracle application server and I have very little instructions or documentation on how to undertake this task.

    Installation of BPA and State Administration guides that you are using an Oracle Application Server is a supported configuration for the Publisher of Business with little or no information on how to do this!

    I managed to deploy and configure, to the best of my knowledge, the businesspublisher.war as well as its sources of required data, changes DAO, etc..

    I can access the interface of web Publisher Business and its shows no export existing currently.

    I try to add the new Oracle based Publisher Business Server applications server to my Business Architect Editor (i.e., but it keeps failing to connect and BPA hangs until I have the strength that it ends!)

    I see that the BPA repository host establishes a connection with the host business editor IDE oucederomsurlesecondport 17059 (the default port), but nothing else happens.

    [oracle@***]$ netstat - a |] grep 17059
    TCP 0 0 *: 17059 *: * LISTEN

    I have undertaken a number of successful installation, deployment and exports BPA to Business Editor using TomCat on Windows, Linux and SUN, but have now ceased completely on how to undertake this on Oracle Application Server.

    Can someone point me in the direction of any documentation or information on how to accomplish this task?

    John

    There is a document which provides the installation for OAS called Oracle + EPS + Suite + 10.pdf that was sent to us by Oracle.

    Not sure where to find documentation in there, but it offers instructions for deploying the war to the United Nations. There are also some files that need to be configured so that it works as well.

    I would like to upload on this ticket, but do not see anywere for that.

    Let me know if you can't find it, and I can send it to you. [email protected]

    Can I just go ahead with the ASGuard 10.1.2.2 installation in my app server 10.1.2.0.2 without having previously installed the high availability and replication? or it will give the error...

    Please help gurus...

    From my experience ASGuard is not widely used. It's much more common to use Data Guard directly (or CARS) to the IAS metadata repository, if of course this license implications (i.e. you must entirely DB Enterprise Edition license on both primary and standby for Data Guard).

  • Application server: duplicate entries for the same machine in the screen "select a Mac".

    The application Sever on one of my computers has several duplicate entries in the initial screen "choose a Mac" that appears just after the launch of the application server where you choose the particular Mac which you want to connect.

    My server is in the local IP 10.0.0.5, but there are two entries for it in the list for a reason any, as you can see here:

    I can choose is entered to connect without a problem. They seem to be legitimate duplicates. So I would like to remove one of them.

    Does anyone know where these entries are stored in the file system, or how to remove one of them in the list?

    You can manually edit the plist, or simply remove to rebuild the entire list:

    ~/Library/preferences/com. Apple.Server.v4.plist

  • Why is-Web application server on a target at a distance in real time is not start?

    Hi, I need help urgent please

    I was wondering why the Web application server on a target at a distance in real time is not start?

    The target is 9014 real-time and its connected to a local network abroad, I have a public IP address port forwarded to the local IP address of the device (Network Address Translation) with all open TCP/UDP ports. I can log on remotely over the internet using the public IP address to the device configuration page and change many settings. Whenever I have activate the Server Web applications and made port 8080, worth defaults to 0 after the reboot of the target.

    The admin login I use has all permissions to control the unit.

    For this reason, I have a problem, deploy web services remotely through the project after building it as it happens with the following error.

    "Web Services deployment failed. You must start the application Web server OR before you deploy a web service.

    I have attached a few screenshots

    Thanks for the help

    I had someone to plug his laptop to the same network as the cRIO, logmein used to connect remotely to the laptop, I had to download labview and the software needed for the cRIO in the computer, and then with the help of MAX, I reinstalled the software on the cRIO. The port of the web server application 8080 is now activated and I was able to deploy services web ok.

    I wonder why I can't use MAX distance to reinstall the software on the cRIO.

    The cRIO is installed on a private overseas network (192.x.x.x), then I have a public internet IP address (67.x.x.x) mapped to the private IP address of the cRIO (Network Address Translation). I can connect to the cRIO config page using the address 67.x.x.x, but not via MAX

    If I find target real tiem using the Ip address of 67.x.x.x, sometimes with the private static IP (192.x.x.x) located on the cRIO but it shows disconnected status

    I wonder if someone has an idea how to go about using MAX to reach the target in real time on the internet

    Thank you
