OPA Siebel connector

Hello

We have developed a module using the OPM and now want to link with Siebel with Siebel OPA connector.
The modules is complex and involves a number of entities, and there isn't many so alleged relationships.

The OPA Siebel connector works very well with the given default modules. But to make it work with my base custom rules that all the changes I need to do?

In addition, it will be very useful if you can share some link or source, which explains the basic process of mapping rules of the takeover to Siebel database.

Thank you

Depending on how you want to use the modules, how you approach the OPA for Siebel connector can be very different. There are essentially two distinct meanings.

* 1. Invoking Siebel rules and process the result *.

This approach uses the server of determinations of OPA and relies on data sent by Siebel to the determinations of the server, with the answers referred to Siebel.

It is based on a policy of automation mapping between Siebel business components, attributes, and relationships mapping to entities, attributes, and relationships in the modules.

This scenario is always called from a script in Siebel (perhaps triggered from a button). The text must be written on the Siebel Connector feature is called and the response must be dealt with in the script.

The main example of this is the AdminSmokeTest. By pressing the button 'Test smoke DS' called Siebel connector, which uses "AdminSmokeTest" mapping to collect information on the current employee record and send it to the server of determinations. The response is processed and the response (if the current record is the SADMIN user) is displayed in a message.

Look at how it's done, use Siebel tools to look at the underlying script in the 'Policy of automation Smoke Test' applet.

Also, you should take a look at the connector of the OPA for Siebel documentation, especially in the topics under 'Invoke the rules' and ' tutorial: citing rules with policy of automation connector for Siebel.

* 2. With the help of determinations of Web to collect information and save it in Siebel *.

This approach uses the OPA Web determinations to run an interview. It can be called from Siebel, or open them directly from a web browser, but a user following the interview process stated. When the user chooses to record the interview, the results are saved in Siebel.

The data of the interview are recorded in a political component of specific Session of Automation management. When an interview is saved, you can intercept the workflow to perform additional functions.

You need a mapping for this approach as well, but you need not necessarily to the mapping of all the entities and attributes of the modules of business, fields etc in the Siebel server components. The information collected during the interview are recorded in the political table Automation Session. The mapping in this case, is mainly used to start before any information from Siebel to the determinations of the Web.

On the screen of the "politics of Smoke Test Automation", when you click on the button 'WD Smoke Test '.

You should take a look at topics under "Citing Interviews" and perhaps "tutorial: seed Oracle Web determinations with data from Siebel.

    Hello

I am not a specialist of connector but have some experience and might know what you are looking for. When we need to display the XMLs (from OPA to Siebel or vice versa), we get into Siebel under:

Directors - motor integration > transaction log

You can search for "OPA" in the column of the Interface and XML messages will be displayed in the message area below. If you don't see that maybe because the log levels are not quite high. Increase levels of newspaper in virtue:

Directors - motor integration > Transaction Setup > Error Logging / handling > Message Log level

I think the level that you want is '2 - non-transaction Message '.

    I hope this helps.

  • Questions in OPA Siebel Connector upgrade to 10.3

    Hello

We have improved OPA Siebel Connector upgrade to version 10.3 10.2. We have performed all the steps in the installation guide and deployed the 10.3 rulebases to tomcat apache (application server that we use).

When we click the button 'Test smoke DS' or 'DS IO smoke Test', we get the following error:

Error service call 'Policy Automation Server IO determination', 'AssessIO' method in the step "to call evaluate IO." (SBL-RPR-00162)
HTTP request error when the "request submitting data SendHTTP ': 'State - 503 code' (SBL-EAI-04117)

The port address of the service for the outbound web service "DeterminationServerIO" is:

    http://172.18.113.11:8080 / siebel-determinations-server/assessio/SOAP/AdminSmokeTestIO

    and for "DeterminationServer":
    http://172.18.113.11:8080/Siebel-determinations-Server/assess/SOAP/generic/10.0/AdminSmokeTest

We can see the deployed rulebases (AdminSmokeTest and AdminSmokeTestIO) WSDL files in the following path:

    http://172.18.113.11:8080 / siebel-determinations-server.

Also the buttons work correctly in the dedicated client, but it does not work for thin client.

    ALIOU.

From the looks of the newspapers, it is call the correct URL and to return a 503 error. We know that the Service is running and works from a fat client.

The only real differences between thin and thick clients should be the machine that demand comes from (Server siebel for the client, the client computer for the thick client), and the used .srf (thick client that uses its own .srf, lightweight client relies on the used by the Siebel server .srf.)

1 there is something strange on the thin client application.
-check the logs in Siebel determinations server to see if it is receiving the request and then return an error (unlikely)
s ' ensure that the .srf which uses the Siebel server is up-to-date (customer copy heavy to the siebel server .srf).

    2. any security or a firewall preventing the application of the Siebel server.
-see if you can contact Siebel determinations from the Siebel server server.

    Hi OPA Experts,

We have a requirement that result of the OPA (validation text) must be complete multi language, if the connection of the user in "ENU" then OPA Siebel IO response should fill the results in "ENU", if the connection to the user in response 'CHS' OPA Siebel IO should fill in 'CHS '.

Do we need to maintain separate for ENU and CHS modules? Please let me know. Thank you.

    Hi Moses,

    Sorry for the late reply.

It was not possible to call a web service inbound from separate of the language/locale of the interview. However, we have recently produced a patch that should do exactly what you want.

If you contact technical support, and describe what you want to do, they should be able to provide a patch. If you mention that you need the patch that was produced for the '3-7991604331-not able to implement OPA connector for Multilingual application' service, they should send you a patch that contains an updated version of the OPA 10.4.4 runtimes for Connector for Siebel and all the instructions you need.

  • Virtual business component (VBC) OPA-Siebel connector compatibility

    Hello

Is it possible to use virtual business components when mapping automation strategy?

Currently I have a VBC created on Siebel and I am mapping some attributes of Siebel to be transmitted to the OPA but nothing happens. The connector supports the VBC?

    Thank you
    Sofiane

    Philippe,

With the release of Siebel connector 10.3. The connector supports business objects and the integration of objects, but it does not support virtual business components.

The earlier version (10.2.1) supports business objects/components only.

  • OPA Siebel connector 10.1.1

I install OPA and the connector on a new environment. Of the 10.1.1 connector release notes, it seems that the 10.1.1 connector is a 10.1 update and therefore 10.1 should be installed first so that it can then be upgraded to 10.1.1. However, the Connector zip 10.1 is no longer available on delivery. Please let me know if 10.1 should be installed first, or if I can go ahead and install the 10.1.1 connector.

    Thank you

You are not required to have an existing installation of the connector Oracle policy Automation for Siebel. If you had an existing installation then the documented process of upgrading your current version must be followed. Please note that details on the installation process are provided in the installation guide.

Oracle has provided a sample modules B-Plan has been integrated successfully.

    I have a few questions: -.

Is it true that the structure of the modules should be same as in example B-plan modules?

Should we include entities of plan benefits and benefits in our modules to make it work?

The first objective to be included in the output in Siebel mappings include the similar to 'BenefitPlanSiebelOperation' attribute which can values such as 'Ineffective', 'Update' / 'insert '?

Given that the scripts for benefit plan method create is not exposed, I have no idea how to get generated the plan.

There is a fast reconfiguration that needs to be done to get siebel-determinations-server running on WebLogic.

Unfortunately, this seems to have missed the documentation.

Here's what you need to do:

    1 unzip the siebel-determinations - server.war

    2. edit the file WEB-INF/classes/config/application.properties:

At about line 40, you will see a line indicating

    "" plugin.libraries = "."

Change this so that the line is (a single line, without break of):

    plugin.libraries=com.oracle.determinations.server.plugins.IntegratedObjectCustomServicePlugin;com.oracle.determinations.bplan.BPlanReturnResultEventHandler

    3. Locate the file: bplan_ds_eventhandler.jar and io-custom - service.jar io-custom - service.jar WEB-INF/classes/plugins directory

    4. move these files in WEB-INF/classes/plugins WEB-INF/lib

5 re - zip the web application for siebel-determinations - server.war (attention do not include additional directories, WEB - INF and META-INF must be at the top level of the .war file).

    William,

The OPA for Siebel connector does not support the OPA 10.4 runtime. We are working on the OPA for 10.4 Siebel connector supporting 10.4 rulebases and executions, but until it's available, you must use 10.3 rulebases and DURATION.

When the OPA connector for Siebel 10.4 is available there will be instructions on how to improve from 10.3 to 10.4

  • Siebel connector: filling out of the database duplicate

When you use the Disqualification Siebel connector, how can I initially complete the table double?

It is empty now (of course). For a new installation of Siebel, this isn't a problem at all: whenever I create a new record, I can see that a record according to is automatically created in the s_dq_org_key table.

If this part of the story works very well.

But it might be worth recreating the content of the s_dq_org_key each at the table and when:

-Let's say I misconfigure something, the Disqualification system is not running for a few days, that's why the key duplicate table is not updated.

-Or, as now: I attach Disqualification Oracle to an already up & running system (test).

Should I features of batch job for this purpose? Lots fill the s_dq_org_key in addition to the staging tables table?

Batch (either full or incremental batch) can be performed using Siebel DQ Manager. These call Disqualification batch to identify duplicate records. The database shared staging is used to pass relevant data (corresponding to data for the identification of double and effective) between Siebel and Disqualification.

The additional lots may include things like "all records updated last week" - and Siebel automatically select candidates for these records and entry to the Disqualification. Disqualification will be return matches.

Please note that S_DQ_ORG_KEY contains only the key values for the selection of candidates. Key values can be updated using the DQ Manager - it be called generation service key to the Disqualification for each record in the scope, assuming you are using Siebel 8.1.1.10 or later version. Otherwise, they are updated in the same way, but the keys are simply formed from expressions configured in Siebel.

the message "HTTP: error state 404 - the requested resource () is not available." means that the siebel-determinations-server is not deployed successfully in your tomcat.

Check that the file ' siebel-determinations - server.war "in the directory webapps and check the tomcat records errors.

  • OPA-Siebel 8.1 / / OWD-'Close' button and go back to Siebel

    Hello

We have implemented Siebel and OPA with the 10.3 connector
Currently, OPA is called mode OWD of Siebel, the popup is opened successfully at the main screen that contains my stream to reach the screens of questions.
    My question is simple:
How can I customize the 'Close' button in the toolbar to close the pop-up window and return to the Siebel. Now, I only save button to send data to Siebel and killing Internet Explorer from popup.
Now, the session "closed" reached the 1st screen containing the flow.)

Thank you if you have any suggestions.

When the determinations Web runs like a Popup, it is in a new Internet Explorer window. To close the window, you will need to implement some Javascript to close the window.

It's not quite as simple as it sounds, you need to think whether the latest information was saved to Siebel and if it should be.

You will need to seek to change speed models. See the Templates Velocity Developer's Guide in the Oracle policy Automation Developer Help

The best way to proceed would be to do this is to attach the javascript for the onClick event handler in the end Session button (the confirmation page after they click close). Change the ButtomControl.vm (WEB-INF/classes/templates/controls/ButtomControl.vm) and conditionally change the 'OnClick' if the {control.getText ()} is equal to the "End Session".
