Open a new window (tab)
I have a project set to open in a new window (tab), it does. The problem is that the focus does not move to the new window (tab). The current film remains "on top". Other web links that open a new window to divert the attention of the new window. Is it possible to do this? Thank you!I think it is completely a function of your browser settings. Check
browser preferences and see if the tabs are set to be active or load
in the background.
However, you specify that links sites bring the new tab in the foreground.
I don't know why this would be inconsistent... but sure it is
Captivate can do it... (?)

Hello world
After you open a new window or tab, Firefox 50 engages often in half a second to load the empty page before it allows me to enter an address. Could this be the suspicious activity of malware?
To show you, I recorded a video of him:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/drvmzrqqqjnopvo/Firefox%20page%20Loading.mov?DL=0
It also happens if NoScript, my single extension, is disabled.
Thank you!
I think that the problem is now cleared up. Firefox seems just in contact with their own server of telemetry. The HTTP log that shows the server
incoming. Telemetry.Mozilla.org
is contacted.

When I open a new window all I see is this "browser.startup.homepage = about: home". And the address bar says chrome://branding/locale/browserconfig.properties
What is happening and how to fix this?
You can check for problems with preferences and rename or delete the prefs.js file and numbered possible prefs-# .js and the file user.js to reset all default prefs.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

Mac desktop computer.
Yes, or you can right-click and select "Open in New Window ' or change this option in the Firefox settings:
- Go to the topic: preferences and uncheck the box under the tabs 'open new window in a new tab only '.

How can I change "open new window" tab behavior?
I used to be a long time Firefox user and then switch to Chrome for a while. Come back now, and I notice some strangeness with tabs and "new windows". Can't understand how to work around.
My "Home Page" is set up to open three tabs. A MSN, the second is my email, and the third is Google Calendar. It works fine, except...
(1) if I choose 'New window' (Ctrl-N), it re-opens those same three tabs. When I open a new window, I don't want to reopen these three tabs. They are already open in the main window. How can I stop Firefox to do this? I can't find a way to get there.
(2) the other door on the 'Home' button If I push the home button it loads all three of these tabs. In Chrome, there is another parameter for the 'home' vs the tabs start button. Is it possible to replicate this? Sometimes I hit the home button only to load MSN. I don't want all three of these tabs when I hit the home button. Any way around this?
Danke.
It is not possible.
A new window opens to the home page (s), so you should set the home page to about: blank or create a bookmark to the defined location: virgins and hold the Shift key and left click to open this page in a new window. You can add these three pages to the command-line of the desktop shortcut to open the page when you start Firefox Firefox.

Why can't I open a new window now? I prefer a new window in a tab.
I like to use Mozilla, I like also to open a new window, as opposed to a tab (it's just me I guess). I must now W control to open a window - cannot bring back open it? (and I still don't have the private window).
In case you have activated automatic private browsing, you can use the Options dialog box to turn off.
"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > privacy
Change the menu drop down of "conservation rules: don't remember history ' to ' Firefox will be: use the custom settings for history".
Then you can uncheck the box for automatic private browsing.

I used to be able to open a new window (Ctrl + N) and it would 'only' to open a new window, which is what I wanted.
Now, when I open a new window, it opens a new window, but it does so with a new tab as well.
So if I type "Ctrl + N" for example, a new window AND a new tab when open. I close the tab every time now, because I wanted to only the new window.
Help, please.
Have you tried Mode safe?

I don't know if they are technically pop-up windows (for example, if you perform a search on kayak.com, it will automatically open a new window of priceline.com with the search results), but that happens with Blocker on or off. Other examples are a little info to a financial site window or .edu, which opens a session is about to expire, or answer a FAQ (with the exception of the priceline example, these windows have an address bar or view a URL). In any case, once these windows are closed, if I try to open a new window, it will automatically load the content of this "pop-up". Whenever he does, I'm unable to type in the address bar or open a new tab in this window.
How can I fix it? What I want is to open a new window which is empty, not load the previous contents.
No, I just realized that I was holding Command-Shift-N rather than command-N

When I open a new window, an additional blank tab opens in the new window.
The problem started when I reset my new page.
Because the two legs were open, she defined the second tab in the home page.
When I noticed this, I reset (choice between bookmarks) with a single tab.
Unfortunately, it continues to open two tabs, whenever a new window is opened, either when starting Firefox or by a link.
Pressing 'Home' don't open a new tab.One of your FAQs advised removing the characters of pipe in the home page layout, but this does not apply in this case.
Can you help me?
Thank you
Select this option.
You can drag a single tab on the Home button to set this tab as homepage.
The extension of MySearchDial has been reported to cause problems with opening of new additional tab.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

Why FF opens a new window whenever I try to open a new tab?
I tried to change it in preferences, but it will not work.
I suggest you do the split method. Turn off half the Add-ons and then try to open a new tab and see if it opens a new window. If this is the case, disable the other half in small groups until you can nail that add to the problem.

When I click on the + sign up open a new empty tab, I don't see any of my favorite sites / pins. I see this when I start a new window browser and only for the 'landing page '. Once I go to any other page, I can't get my new tabs tabbed page to display.
I fixed it. I went in: config and had to change browser.newtab.url to about: newtab
Thank you very much! Mark as resolved, have a nice day

How can I stop the feature: "choose a tab opens a new window?
Not all the time but often leave when I switch from one tab to another, the one I select will open in a new window. I HATE THIS! I want that my stay in the window select that tab. If I want to that they in a new window I deliberately opens a new window for them. But to have opened only to chance a tab in a new window just because I chose this tab is irritating as hell!
So, how do I put it so he won't do that?

Why Firefox guard open a new window a lot when you click on a tab to open it.
Firefox guard open a new window every time when I click on a tab to open it. Happens quite a few times per day now and it's annoying.
Versions of Firefox 3.5 and later have a feature called tabs.
You can detach a tab in the current window and open in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.
You can drag the tab to the tab bar in the original window to cancel this detachment.bug489729 (Disable detach and tear off tab):
Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).
- Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.
