• PRE9: Creating new project, or open existing, shows empty window Editor (well enough)

  Hello

  I used PRE8 (elements of Prime Minister) and PSE 8.  Was never really able to Pre8 to work. (I'm happy with Elements 8).  I decided to bite the bullet and buy the items 9/PRE9 together (good deal on Amazon).  I removed 8 elements, PRE8, and a brand new installed v9 for both software (may have been waste of money!)

  Scenario 1:

  I can't get PRE9 to create a project that I can change.  (to be honest, I had a similar problem with PRE8, but it I could create, but it wouldn't let me open it).  It creates the project that seems and then comes the Editor window, but just about everything in the editor PRE9 menu are grayed out.  The 'new' and 'Open (existing project)' with the exception of the menu items.  No way for me to add video clips to the project, etc..  So useless!

  Scenario 2:

  I enter in elements Organizer, select a video, and then in the "Fix" menu, choose "edit video".  Editor of PRE9 rises, again as before, only 'new' and 'Open' menu items available.  Then he said to me 'corrupt project, cannot open file' (or something close to it)

  Any suggestions?   This seems very essential and fundamental, I am amazed, I have problems in the right basic tasks after a cleaning installed.

  Setup: Dell computer Inspiron 17 laptop, processor Intel i7, 4 GB of RAM.  PRIOR to version 9.0.3 elements 9.0.1,. Windows 7, 64 bit.  I have the installation carried out by Dell out of the box. I pretty much only use this PC for items and PRE (and web browsing - which can cause of course who knows what is downloaded on your PC).  I use the MacAfee virus checker.  I have it turned off during the PRE9 installation (not during the installation of items 9 However, forgot to turn off)

  Reference Dell 'out of the box' would mean that most of your drivers are up-to-date. Update video and audio from the web sites of the manufacturers. Your symptoms are very similar to those of the other users here and disabling McAfee during the PRE9 solved their problem and can heal yours.

• Install the new Oracle Internet Directory on the existing repository

  We currently have a less-than-ideal situation by which Oracle Internet Directory services are installed on the same host (well under a separate House) in the database that contains the repository of metadata. We want to fix this in a future close by effectively moving services OID to a separate host computer. Is this possible? I couldn't do anything useful by googling and some tests I did with trying to install a second instance of OID against the existing repository, turned up the following error:
  
  Setup has detected that you already have Oracle Internet Directory configured for the database located in < host >: < port >: < database >.  Directory Internet Oracle can be installed once per database.
  
  Looks pretty final that I suppose. Was wondering if anyone had had success trying to make something similar?

• Unable to open online repository

  I created a new file repository and changed NSCONFIG. INI file to point to the new file to the repository.
  
  I am able to change the RPD in Offin mode. But when the server is in place, and if I try to open the repository in offline mode, it shows "the repository can be opened only in read-only mode.
  I checked that I have disabled the NSCONFIG read-only option. INI
  
  I read the threads on the forum that when the server is running, we can not open the file of the RPD in offline mode. But I am able to open it and save it as. (Just that the server isn't picking up). Is this good?
  
  Before the creation of the new SPR file, I got the default RPD file that came with the installation and I just changed this RPD to add new databases etc. I could open only in online mode and also edit.
  
  Am I missing some configuration in the new SPR file? Can someone help me please.

Please check your windows Photoshop.exe registry key which version of Photoshop is open and edit with?  I remember that mine have been updated to 2015 CC but I changed the back ventilated at the 2014 to CC are many bugs in 2015 of CC. • Cannot open existing pdf files

  My player program free adobe has recently become very slow and does not quite lately.  I use PDFCreator more for printing.  When I tried to print a PDF in PDFCreator Plus file today (as I did years) when the drive has been opening files very slowly, he changed all of my Adobe PDF files for files of more than PDFCreator.  It allowed me to switch back, but now I can't open any existing or newly created files.  I have thousand of pdf files.  I have since loaded Foxit as I run two companies and can not operate without access to my pdf files.  I would use Adobe yet, but have to know what to do to regain the ability to use the program and open my pdf once more.  I use Adobe Reader free with the downloaded the most recent version 11.0.07 May 22, 2014.

  I have Window 7 OS.  I went to uninstall via the control panel and on the list, I clicked Adobe Reader.  The options were to uninstall or change.  I clicked on the change and it gave me the option to repair.  I have repaired and restarted my computer.  All played well again.

  path must be in place system variable. I suspect that you access from a remote pc (via the client tool)
  because your path of the server is correctly set. so, make way pc environment remotely, of course.

  I have a challenge for you! Just to be clear, I am not a specialist of the Oracle (or call me a noob Oracle).
  
  Challenge: Open an Oracle 9i database in a new Oracle 11 g environment.
  
  Result: Be able to connect to an Oracle database running with "SSMA for Oracle" to convert it to a SQL database.
  
  Starting point:
  -Receipt of the customer: DBF, CTL and logs of an Oracle environment existing.
  -Since I can't download Oracle 9i environment, I chose to install 11g environment and hope for a good backward compatibility.
  
  How I got:
  -Installed 11g environment
  -Set up a database pointing to the files DBF
  ~ Change init.ora to use CTL files
  ~ Create init.ora spfile
  ~ Start database mount and rename the database and data files using sqlplus (liaison with "sys as sysdba")
  
  Questions:
  Now I can start the database, but sometimes with a * "ORA-00704: bootstrap process failure" * and recommend I start it with the UPGRADE option. "» Start with UPGRADE option works and I can navigate through the database using Toad tool (login 'as sysdba'). But 'SSMA for Oracle' is not an option to connect 'as sysdba' and gives me a "ORA-39710: only connect AS SYSDBA is allowed when it is OPENED in UPGRADE mode.
  
  Since the MASA for customer Oracle cannot connect to a database started with the UPGRADE option I probably have to fix the "ORA-00704: bootstrap process failure»
  I tried to avoid the upgrade option in trying to upgrade the database to 11g. But utlu112i.sql and catalog.sql give me errors like "ORA-04023: object SYS." STANDARD cannot be validated. "
  
  Issues related to the:
  -Do you think I want to achieve is possible at all?
  -Can I easily run an Oracle 9i database in a 11g environment or what I really need to upgrade?
  -Do you think it is the best way to get an Oracle existing database running in a new environment?
  -If Yes: how to solve the error ORA-00704?

  9i binaries are no more on the website of oracle since this version is located in the long ago.

  What I would do (since you have your files backed up somewhere, at least I hope) is simply:
  Set oracle_sid = xxx
  sqlplus/nolog
  Connect / as sysdba
  start upgrade
  @?\rdbms\admin\catupgrd.sql (to upgrade the database)
  @?\rdbms\admin\utlrp.sql (to compile the modules)

  Wait a while (2-3 hours)

  immediate stop
  startup

  Check no errors in alert_log and you have access to your data.

  Then 2 possibilities:

  It worked - so everything goes well for you.
  It does not, replace your original files and try something else.

  I think this will work if, as we have already said, you're 9.2.0.4 or more.

  Do not lose time on futile questions such as 'what is really the version of my files. You care, upgrade script works for all of the above versions 9.2.0.4.

  Don't forget that:
  Passwords are now (11g) case sensitive (but you can change them when logged in sysdba)
  Some pl/sql will not compile, but I think that you are mainly interested in the data.

  I hope this helps.
