  • opening a binary file with the right extension

    Hello world

    I developed a real simple VI which allows me to read the first five bytes of a binary file for signature (ASCII) and check if its signature match with planned extensions. If Yes, another VI is called and that not one 2 button error message appears: If the user selects OK, a new dialog box opens to choose another file. and if the user chooses cancel, the same dialog box opens instead of escape from the VI.

    This is because while loop (VI below), but I don't see how I can handle this without him. Until the user has not chosen the right extension, he cannot escape from what is a problem! The real case is to call one another VI, and the first step of the stacked sequence is to display an error of two buttons.

  • CC of the organization saves all files with the icon to the?

    Hi, since a few weeks, I have the following problem: when I save a project in the Organization of the CP, the file still gets .prproj extension but with the icon of the hearing (AU), not creating icon (Pr). problem is that when I fix this kind of files to an email (or send it via us transfer), the other can not open it. It ' has a new number, before it was working OK. anyone understand what is happening? Thank you.

    the icon showing the Audition even if it's a .prproj file may be a separate issue from the other person is not able to open it.  both computers use the same premiere pro version? If it is a simple installation you can try export xml as a work-around.

    If you are on windows, and there is a problem with the file types associations, then right-click on the file and choose 'Open with'. then tell him to always use first pro for .prproj

    If you do not see open with, try now shift while clicking on the file.  This will only change the icons and behavior by double clicking on a file to open it on your computer. He can't fix anything for the other person to open your file.

  • programmatically launch a file with the default windows application

    I thought it would be a trivial task, but I can't seem to be able to find something about it.  I would like to be able to open any file in the native application - as if the user has double-clicked on it.  Any suggestions?

    Joined a VI I use that does what you want.  If the given path is a folder, then it opens a file Explorer window in this folder.  If the path is a file, then it opens the file, as if the user double clicked on it.  She uses the mentioned command-line function previously.

  • How to open a configuration file with a relative path?

    I want to open a configuration file when my application is initialized (first 'State', you can tell) and I use 'Open file.vi Config' and tried to pass the path of the config as 'data\myconfig.ini' and the 'File exists?' vi gave no error (simply, the exit is 'false') but the config Open leader gave an error.

    If I spend an absolute path "D:\xyz\xyz\myconfig.ini", it works fine. Is not is it possible to use the "relative path" I recall using it before searching for other tasks?

    I'd rather have this file in the folder "data" my application setup will create the destination directory during the installation of the application, because it won't be easy when I want to ask the user to open and modify. Or, I just put it in "C:\". "that exists on all windows computers, but it would be too open.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Save Indd Filename with the name of any PDF file

    Hi all, I'm not much more than a programmer, so this may seem like an incredibly easy problem for most of you, but it's confusing to me. I'm under Indesign 5.5, and I have a javascript that I hacked together who will have to intervene once PDF on a page to the specific spacing. I want the script to do next is to insert the name of the PDF file in a textbox somewhere on that and then you page prompts to save the indesign file with the default filename the name of the placed pdf file.

    Kel if the file name of the PDF file on this page is "TDC-smith - 1.pdf", the text "TDC-smith-1"appears in a text box on this page and then the indesign file would save with a file name by default of "TDC-smith-1 fr.indd". Who is?

    Thank you!

    Loic thanks for your help. You helped me to be part of the solution. In the end if I was able to find a more simple solution, based on a few other scripts I dug up, which did exactly what I needed. It is not quite as elegant as it should (there no controls or alerts if the script requirements), but it does the job well enough.

    Basically, it creates just a variable for the filename and the filepath of the first chart that it finds in the document. It then uses a replacement text script to remove the name of the PDF extension and exchange the text in a text box that contains "Default Text", also adding a variable that I use earlier in the script to indicate how many PDF files have been strengthened. Finally, it saves the document in the same folder as the PDF file using the MyImagePath variable, also the number of PDFs variable by the name of file.

    I hope that someone finds it useful!

    myDoc var = app.activeDocument;

    var myImage = myDoc.allGraphics;

    find the file name and path of the PDF in the document

    for (var i = 0; myImage.length > i; i ++) {}

    App.Select (myImage [i]);

    var MyImageName is myImage [i].itemLink.name;.

    var MyImagePath is myImage [i].itemLink.filePath;.

    }

    replace the text box that contains "Default Text" by "filename-number of labels variable-up."

    replaceText ("Default Text", MyImageName + '-' + myNumberOfLabels + 'up');

    replaceText (".pdf", "");

    function replaceText (input, output)

    {

    app.findTextPreferences = app.changeTextPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing;

    app.findTextPreferences.findWhat = entry;

    app.changeTextPreferences.changeTo = output;

    app.activeDocument.changeText ();

    app.findTextPreferences = app.changeTextPreferences = NothingEnum.nothing;

    }

    Save the file co-operate in the same directory as PDF, with the same name of PDF + variable indicating the number of labels stepping

    ;

    saveFile = File (MyImagePath.replace(/.pdf$/, ") +"-"+ myNumberOfLabels +"up"+".indd");

    app.activeDocument.save (saveFile);

    }

  • How to open multiple files with the same extension in one program from the Explorer

    I frequently receive several JPG (or whatever extension) files to my clients.  On Windows XP, I could just highlight the files I want to open, and then click Open.  They would be so open to 1 program cascading.  This made it easy when comparing many images.  If I do the same thing in Windows 7, it opens the default program several times and puts 1 image of each open program.  It is Paint Shop Pro in my case.  Thus, instead of so-called images 5 open cascading in Paint Shop Pro... the computer open Paint Shop Pro 5 times with 1 image of each open version of the program.  I tried this search like crazy, but cannot find the right thread for an answer.  Most of the threads are on the opening of the different file types.  My question is only about the opening of multiple files with the same exact file inside 1 free program extension.

    Is this the same version of Paint Shop?

    One thing you might try is to open Paint Shop, then select and drag all the files in this window of the paint shop.  Various programs to manage this type of action differently from the DDE, but it might give you the expected results.

  • Photoshop won't let me save files with the Extensions...

    Photoshop is not letting me save my files with the extensions more. It is only to save files in the copy and I have to add the extensions manually. This happened at the time, I've upgraded to OSX maverics and drives me crazy because it is extremely laborious. I use the CS5 version. Help, please!

    In the Mac Finder > Preferences > Advanced 'show all filename Extensions' should be checked on.

    In Photoshop:

    Preferences > file management > add a file Extension should be set to "always".

Other programs work fine, but not Adobe Reader. I can save a pdf file with a different name, but when I try to save as in XI or replace as in DC had an error: the file is read-only or opened by someone else. Save the document under a different name or in a different folder.

    By the way, Acrobat Pro, I got the same message.

  • File dialog box cut the default name

    Hi all

    I recently migrated from LV2011 to LV2012 and I have a problem with the dialog file Express vi. It seems, that in LV2012 the Windows dialog box that appears after invoking the file dialog box, adjust the default name to 14 characters (or rather the chain moves to the left so the first x characters are hidden). Please see screenshot attached screen and VI. It's OK in LV2011 (have tested the same code yesterday on another PC with LV2011). Is there a solution or the solution? This is a minor bug, but given that my application is distributed to a customer who pays it mind rather

    Thank you for your reply, Andrew!

    Your VI not exactly help me with my code, but it helped me to find the path . Unfortunately, when I used your VI, the behavior was exactly the same as with the file dialog box. But I noticed that it works only when I select 'create' to the function input terminal (with "create or replace" or something else I've known the cutting chain).

    Then I tried to override the setting of file express VI dialog box of 'New or existing' on 'New' with this setting, the file dialog box works very well (and there seems to be no difference between 'New or existing' and 'New').

    This problem is solved, thank you once more!
