  Import a swf in a fla is not the way to get to each other.  Any actionscript in a swf file is lost.  You need to load the file swf dynamically either or you must copy the timeline of the FLA that the swf is made from to the other fla.

  I use Macromedia Flash 8 Professional. I created a menu for my Web site. The problem is that when I close the program and open the file for editing, or to continue my work, I noticed that some of the graphics and video Clips are replaced by some other graphics and video Clips.   you save a version of the old file? copy it to another computer or hard drive? sometimes just get corrupted and there is nothing you can do on... it doesn't happen very often, it is often not time no logical explanation for it and is certainly not unique to Flash, but there you have it. it sucks when it happens...

  I don't know how to fix this file - maybe try and open it on another computer?

• Problem opening FLA file

  I worked with a Flash file on and off for a few weeks and now I am unable to open the file. When you try to open it I see the dialog box error following 'a call API came out abnormally.
  
  Could someone tell me what can be the cause of this and how it could be solved. There is nothing too special is happening in the Flash file - it loads data from a couple of XML files and presents the news of pie charts. It has a number of screens that are set along the timeline, the user can navigate and load in external SWF.
  
  A considerable amount of work has gone into this file and it is due for completion today. I have used a trial version of Flash Professional 8 and am awaiting delivery of the software in a box. I tried another copy of the trial on a separate and asked a friend to start machine, but it gets the same error.
  
  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Migrated, impossible to open Flash CC to CC animate. FLA files

  Hi all - I didn't do any work Flash for a year and a half and have a new laptop since then.  Tonight, I installed the last animate CC (2015-2 version) and tried to open the files I had saved with Flash CC in 2014.  But all that happens is that I get a supremely vague "year error occurred opening E:\...\GenAware.fla.  I have read several threads about the same problem in the past, but they all boil down to "Update to the latest version of the software."  Any ideas?

• I can't open the FLA files in CS5 "UNEXPECTED FILE FORMAT" help!

  I desperately need help from someone.  For the second time, I can not open 2 FLAs I invested more than 100 hours of design.  I am running CS5 and need to know what can be done?  I'm afraid to do anything with the fear that this will happen, that I had open these files and complete projects.  How is this possible or which can solve the problem.

  I can't believe that ADOBE would release CS5 with as serious a problem.  It's pretty darn close to life and death, these two files constitute a $200 k account.

• I can't see text when I open my .fla files.

  Open any file with text in Flash, I'm not. The blue selection squares appear and I can highlight text, copy and paste it somewhere else, but I can't see it in Flash, even when it is highlighted or I change the color of the font. I use Windows 7, and this problem came yesterday. I could see all my text very well before. Thanks in advance.

• FLA file size limit?  Reducing the size of the FLA.

  I am a coder and work with a colleague who makes the graphics in illustrator and then copy/pastes them to animate Adobe.

  At present, the FLA file size is 152 000 KB and the SWF file is 13, 900KO.

  Currently, it cannot bring in any new graphics in Illustrator without Adobe animate crashing.  Also it takes a very long time to open the file, or apply simple alterations.

  Is there a limit to the size of the of the FLA?  What is the optimal way to bring Illustrator images to the timeline?

  You can use a different charger on each image to load images to an external file. There are coding of ways to do this, but there is a component called UILoader, and all you have to do is enter the source on the Properties tab.

• Adobe Flash CC issue "an error has occurred opening the file.

  I worked on an animation last night, but when I tried to open the file I get this error that says: "an error has occurred opening the file. I am able to open my other projects flash very well, and I've been looking for a solution to my problem, but not luck.

  If this file is corrupt, you can

  1 rename the fla in rar > open it in winrar > click on repair > rename the rar repaired a fla > try to open it in flash pro.

  2. If this does not work, and you have a working swf file, you can try using a decompiler (for example, soththink) to recreate a working Fla.

  3. in case of failure, you may be able to recover a portion of your assets of fla by unrar'ing the FLA renamed in step 1.

  and save again in the future, with the increase in the version numbers so that this would never entail a significant problem for you in the future.

• Adobe host CC & fla files import

  I design for e-Learning and have done a few interactive swf, so I hope I don't have to recreate everything that I did when animate CC is available. Anyone know if we will be able to import our fla in CC files animate?

  You can open (file > open) your files fla in cc animate as you do with flash cc pro.

  I was working on my .fla file and went to test it, and after that the 'export SWF movie' loading bar was 100%, my computer has frozen and restarted. When he returned to the top, I couldn't open my project file, with this error:

  check the size of your fla file.  If it is zero, you can not do something with it.

  If is not zero, you can rename it to rar and winrar can "repair".  This rarely works but if this is the case, rename a fla and it will open.

  If this fails, you can unrar the FLA renamed and eventually recover some of your work.

  If you have a SWF to work it for a work fla using a decompiler to decompile.  IMO, sothink is the best.

  and save it in the future, your fla with the version numbers listed in the annex so that it never happens again.

• Export to Flash (.fla) file! -Media encoder does not work. Export failed!

  A few weeks ago, I bought creative cloud and especially Flash Pro programs.

  I use a PC for Windows 8.1.

  I had just finished my project and wanted to export by clicking on file-> export-> export video. Now, a new Panel arrives and wants to know certain specific issues, as usual.

  After you click 'Export', he will now try to download this file to the Media Encoder. And that is the problem: Flash, then mentions that the file could not be imported to the Media Encoder, and at the same time the media encoder will say the same thing: "this file cannot be imported", or "this file cannot be read.

  I don't understand the media encoder cannot be not able to import a normal "FLA" - file and then put it in a .mov, .mp4 or whatever it is for Windows.

  You can open the video in any player after convert you, but adobe media encoder requiring some QuickTime plugins to work...

  Here is a tutorial which explains how to work with flash cs5 subversion. CS6 should be no different.

  Make sure all members of your team are committed goes a little further use it properly.

  This is no evidence, give you and your team at least 3-4 days to do the test, if you are already in the middle of production: wait until this your next project.

  Notice: The negative result of the article mentioned only occurs because the two simultaneous processes want to validate a change to the timeline at the same time.

  If you use your file xfl mainly as a way of sorting movieclips and symbols, you should not experience this problem.

  If the main caveat with version control for the moment: never work on the root timeline, if you try to open an asset in the library which is outchecked by a colleague, you will get a warning message that the current file is in use, which prevents this problem.

  I'm trying to open a FLA file in Flash Professional CS6.  When I opened the .fla file, everything is compressed in a unique setting and all animation paths, interpolation, etc. disappeared.  I can't read the file, because there is only a single image.

  I don't know what version of Flash the original .fla file has been created, but I do not have the work .swf file, that validates as version 8 SWF.

  I have opened other .fla files and retouched.  I'm CS6 running on a Windows XP laptop.

  Is the problem on my side, even with the original files?  Is there a compatibility issue when opening the fla files created in older versions of Flash?

  There is no problem using cs6 to open the fla not created with other versions of flash.  If your fla can publish a SWF to work, then the fla is the problem.
