• Problems to open the InDesign CS4 CS5 files

  We have just upgraded to CS5 to enjoy the track changes feature and immediately ran into problems:

  • at the opening of the CS4 CS5 files, we noticed that formulas, created using styles charater, do not display correctly.  For example x = y / z, which would have the x and = signs fell, pointed out the y and the z on the following line, something like this (although much prettier that I can reproduce here):

  x = y

  z

  However, CS5, all in the formula gyphs overlap each other

  • We tried to load character of our model of document styles.  However, who did most of the content to disappear!
  • We tried to convert our CS5 model, then by loading character of our model of document styles.  However, which also caused most of the content to disappear!

  Someone got clues?

  If you open the CS4 files directly in CS5, try to export files CS4 IDML and open the IDML CS5 files. It's worth a try if you have not already found that it does not help.

• Opening project CS4 CS5

  Hi guys

  I'm opening a CS4 CS5 project.

  At the opening, I get a message saying that it was created in an earlier version of Pr and must be converted. I click OK and get a screen showing all project files and clips with options to "jump" or "ignore all". I tried to open the folders but nothing is there, and he said: 'no items matching your search. I tried to type the project name in the "File name" field the same thing. I click on a clip, but that doesn't matter either, so I click "Ignore all", and when the project opens all the clips have been replaced by an image saying "media offline". According to me, if I right click on each clip I can re-edit but that would take time as there are 75 in the project. Any ideas how I can get this project to work on?

  When you open a project CS4 CS5, the conversion will result in a new file name with _1 appended to the name. At the opening of this project, you will need to show PR where the files he heads in the right directory. Once you have done for the first file, it will automatically find the other files in this directory. Since you have now put all files in jumping, I suggest you delete this CS5 project and import back to CS4 and taking little time to direct PR to the appropriate support.

  I just did reformat my hard drive. After you have reinstalled my Adobe CS4 software, I can't open the bridge .ico files - before reformatting the hard drive, I COULD open the bridge .ico files. I can open files .ico directly from Photoshop (I have the telegraphics.com / to the .ico plugin installed in Photoshop to open and save .ico files).

  If I right click on a .ico in Bridge file and select 'Open with' the only option is: COM Surrogate 6.1 (default).

  Looking at the preferences > file types, .ico file type Associations is not available in the file type list. Anyone know what setting or preference I need to change to open the .ico files in Bridge?

  Never mind... I closed the bridge by selecting file > exit (instead of click close at the top right of the program window) and after the reboot, I am able to open the .ico files.

  Can someone offer some assistance?

  My colleague is on CS5.5 and I'm on CS5. She created a file IDML of a document, that we are working and I tried to open it. However, when you open the it, it freezes at the same point each time. (when importing links) The only way I can get out of InDesign is via the Task Manager. Any help would be appreciated.

  About 15 minutes, but it opens in CS4 as well. Just be patient - get a cup of coffee or check your Facebook page or soomething.

  Help, please!

  OSX 10.5.8, CS5 - updated.

  We have a number of documents in CS4 that don't open in CS5... that gets us very concerned. So far, we have tried to reset the InDesign CS5 preferences without success.  Save the CS4 document under a new name... without a bit of luck.

  Will try to export to the XML file in the morning... If this works... what is the problem with our CS4 framework?

  Best practices: open in CS4, exporting to idml, that open in CS5.

  (Option 2 (not recommended, should not be necessary), export to inx CS4.)

  I would be surprised if this doesn't fix it for you, you should not receive the issues that you, but it is a very good way around most of the problems like this.  Could be a plugin or something that you use?

• Impossible to select an object in IDCS6

  I reformat an existing European brochure for the A4 to letter-size. Fine, with one exception.

  I have a problem, select an object (as if it was locked, which it is quite possible). Everything in this document is in a single layer. I am able to select and change all the other elements, native or placed, but I can't seem to get this item to select. I don't see any way to unlock it, but I'm probably missing something. When I hide the layer in the layers palette, everything goes white, then I know it's on that layer.

  I'm on Mac, OS x 10.6.8 IDCS6. The original file has been created using ID too (not sure which version).

  I think I know the answer to this, but... Is there a way I can open a CS5 CS4 file? A designer, I work with created some files using its CS5. • Open projects CS4 CS5 error with Canon 5 d footage HELP!

  HI Im trying the new first Pro CS5 demo and Im getting problems of opening projects.

  At the beginning I couldn't open any of my CS4 projects but could import sequences simple one at a time only, not all projects. If I finally worked fine yesterday and today nothing opens that includes images of 5 d from canon. I get this error.

  "This project contains a sequence that could not be opened. No preview of the sequence is preset file or codec might be associated with this type of sequence. »

  I get the same message when I import an entire project. Yet I can import a sequence of the entire 1 at a time!

  I can only create new projects that save and open, but all former registered projects cannot be opened.

  I am running CS4 on a Mac mini to 2014 with Yosemite. I've worked on enough large photoshop documents Save as ".psb" and ".psd". My Illustrator will not open these files as well as TIFF or photoshop RAW and I am unable to export them to PDF in photoshop because they are so big. I do not have the opportunity to downgrade my OS to Mavrick and also cannot afford CC everyone found a way to solve the plugins for photoshop documents open in illustrator?

  I opened a cs4 CS5 file. She said that it would not replace the existing file (or something like that). I've made a few changes (deletion of the previous sequence) and I forgot to save as. When I worked and clicked on save, I wrote too much the old file. I'm hoping to find the version cs4 file.

  My files are not on the C: and I have no backup.

  Someone good new for me on a folder that I can find the previous version in? I'm hoping against hope.

  Back in CS4, look for the last automatic backup file in this folder. Note: the AutoSave files are FIFO, so check the date and time and do NOT rely on 001-005 designations.

  When you open a CS4 CS5 document, text is now walk yellow. Strangely, almost always just the titles and not all the words or even letters.

  Can someone tell me what this means and what parameters are responsible for this?

  It is quite 'normal', as it was in CS4, CS3 and perhaps earlier. It of just a viewing preference, so don't panic and just turn it off if it bothers you.
