  Hi guys

  I'm opening a CS4 CS5 project.

  At the opening, I get a message saying that it was created in an earlier version of Pr and must be converted. I click OK and get a screen showing all project files and clips with options to "jump" or "ignore all". I tried to open the folders but nothing is there, and he said: 'no items matching your search. I tried to type the project name in the "File name" field the same thing. I click on a clip, but that doesn't matter either, so I click "Ignore all", and when the project opens all the clips have been replaced by an image saying "media offline". According to me, if I right click on each clip I can re-edit but that would take time as there are 75 in the project. Any ideas how I can get this project to work on?

  When you open a project CS4 CS5, the conversion will result in a new file name with _1 appended to the name. At the opening of this project, you will need to show PR where the files he heads in the right directory. Once you have done for the first file, it will automatically find the other files in this directory. Since you have now put all files in jumping, I suggest you delete this CS5 project and import back to CS4 and taking little time to direct PR to the appropriate support.

  It seems that your version is not the latest.

  Check help / about... what version it reads.

  It should be 2015. (9.2.0 build 41)

  Otherwise, please update your version via app updates... or cloud in respect of aid.

  Just upgraded to CS4 to 5.5.

  Opening files CS4 for an annual project.

  Problem is that some objects cannot be selected / changed / deleted etc.

  See picture attached.

  Here, I open the CS4 file in 5.5, Ctrl + A to selct than anything and only 4 of the 8 items can be selected. It's as if others aren't still there. Everything is on the artboard, not on locked layers, master pages or anywhere else. The Logo and green gradient, text textbox with table box cannot be selected.

  Any ideas?

  Are you sure you checked all your master pages?

  And then, just to be sure, use alt-ctrl-L to unlock everything on the spread.

  OSX 10.5.8, CS5 - updated.

  We have a number of documents in CS4 that don't open in CS5... that gets us very concerned. So far, we have tried to reset the InDesign CS5 preferences without success.  Save the CS4 document under a new name... without a bit of luck.

  Will try to export to the XML file in the morning... If this works... what is the problem with our CS4 framework?

  Best practices: open in CS4, exporting to idml, that open in CS5.

  (Option 2 (not recommended, should not be necessary), export to inx CS4.)

  I would be surprised if this doesn't fix it for you, you should not receive the issues that you, but it is a very good way around most of the problems like this.  Could be a plugin or something that you use?

  You should be able to open the Canon 5 d Mark III of files in photoshop cs5 update to camera raw 6.7

  (Help > updates in photoshop cs5)

  For the Canon 6 d, the 8.1 DNG Converter should work by converting your files 6 d camera raw to DNG

  copies, which should then open in photoshop cs5.

• PE of memory error with Canon SD1200 avi files

  I just got a Canon SD1200 camera and took some video. I was able to download the file video avi to Premiere Elements. However, when I tried to edit the files I got an error of memory low system and then PE crashed. I have 3 GB of RAM so I don't think it's memory.

  I wonder if it's a CODEC problem like the recent post on the Pentax Optio w60. It looks like I could buy the MJPEG CODEC from Mainconcept. Is this likely to solve the problem?

  Canon SD1200 is a photo and video from this camera probably uses the MJPEG AVI codec, which will probably not work with Premiere Elements.

  The solution is to convert the video to DV - AVI using Windows MovieMaker, as in the FAQ on the right of this forum.

• Can not open 5 D MkIII RAW with ACR, 8.2, please help LR5.2

  Apologies in advance, I'm sure you have a lot of these issues every day. I tried, and so far found no direct answer to this problem... in part I think because, I have the required software and updates if this isn't lack of compatibility its probably me not understand LR well enough to be able to change the pre-sets.

  Basically I have a catalogue LR with approximately 20,000 images, taken with different devices over the last 7 or 8 years, including the Canon and Nikon digital SLR and a Panasonic CSC. The camera more recent that I use is the Canon 5 d mk3. All other images are taken with older versions of the 5 d or other older than the mk3 brands.

  I use LR 5.2

  I think I'm on ACR8.2, that's what says LR - see screenshot below. My version of Photoshop CS5 Extended v12, however I use cab version 6.0. So I'm a bit confused by there! Any ideas why LR and PS CS5 would think there are different versions of the installed cab? I tried an update to Adobe, but without success so far, so I guess I'm stuck with what I have, unless I've upgraded to a newer version of the PS or LR, which I'm reluctant to do because the information from Adobe itself seem to suggest I use the required minimum versions of apps for my camera model :

  There is a table on the Adobe website that lists all brands of camera and the minimum software requirements. It is said for EOS 5 D Mk3, I should need LR 4.1 minimum and ACR minimum 6.7, 7.1. (Cameras supported by Adobe Camera Raw)

  Back to Lightroom... when I right click on an image RAW in LR, I have the option to:

  Change in > Adobe Photoshop CS5

  Change in > other applications

  Change in >... .long list applications that seem to be my CS5 Plugins for example Silver Efex pro

  There is no option to edit in ACR. There is no option for just 'open' image (only for the image). If I choose the option change in CS5 and then the RAW file is automatically converted to a TIFF file and opens directly in PS, bypassing ACR entirely stage. (Frustrating, too, saves the TIF file in the same location as the original RAW file which is annoying, because I tend to keep my RAW/original image files in a separate library that published my files). I can change that to a certain extent, so that it opens, for example a PSD file. But really, I want to be able to open a RAW directly from LR file, to open first in ACR so that I can make a few minor and subsequent adjustments open PS for final assembly. Then once I'm done I save, usually as a PSD file, in a separate catalogue.

  Please can someone help me understand why I am not able to achieve this workflow because I seem to have good updates and versions to all three bits of software for the RAW files of my 5Dmk3?

  Because this is how it works. Lightroom, ACR has built in software code, PS CS5 does not work, and you install a later version of ACR having PS CS5 to make use of the latest version of ACR. So if you install CS5 ACR 6.7, I believe that your problems will be solved.

  It seems that you are using the RTMFP URI as your "web service URL" for the user name-> peerID registration service. You must provide the HTTP URL to your instance of the registration service (for example, the reg.cgi python script provided with the example of VideoPhoneLabs). This means that you need a web server on which to run it, you need to install reg.cgi and its dependencies (including python and sqlite3) and create the database sqlite3 as indicated in the comments to reg.cgi. Depending on your operating system, you will need to set the permissions of files/directories to the directory holding the sqlite3 database so that it can be read/written by the owner of the web server process.

  I opened a cs4 CS5 file. She said that it would not replace the existing file (or something like that). I've made a few changes (deletion of the previous sequence) and I forgot to save as. When I worked and clicked on save, I wrote too much the old file. I'm hoping to find the version cs4 file.

  My files are not on the C: and I have no backup.

  Someone good new for me on a folder that I can find the previous version in? I'm hoping against hope.

  Back in CS4, look for the last automatic backup file in this folder. Note: the AutoSave files are FIFO, so check the date and time and do NOT rely on 001-005 designations.

  When you open a CS4 CS5 document, text is now walk yellow. Strangely, almost always just the titles and not all the words or even letters.

  Can someone tell me what this means and what parameters are responsible for this?

  It is quite 'normal', as it was in CS4, CS3 and perhaps earlier. It of just a viewing preference, so don't panic and just turn it off if it bothers you.

• CS4 is consistent with each time the open project

  My system has recently been upgraded from CS3 to CS4. Now I find that some but not all of my projects are in line with all the files in the project, every time I open this project. Even if I have Prime Minister to close then immediately reopen this project, all files will be again in line.

  My system is a Matrox RTX2 with the latest versions of the tools of MX and CS4 usinf Window 7 OS updates.

  OK, I had the same problem and nothing was out there regarding the fix. Support didn't know what to do, so I decided to think about it on my own and I think I have a solution. Keep in mind, I have experienced the problem in CS5, but it can work as well for older ones. Here go us.

  Steps to follow:

  1. I made a new projected and it called "delete"(I did to avoid loading the trimmed project permanently)

  3. in the Edit/Preferences/Media UNCHECK 2 boxes that talk about XMP files. Save and close the first.

  3. I then deleted all previous ' compliant' media IN the media Cache files. (Was my location of records: c:\users\"username"\roaming\adobe\common\)

  If your are not there simply to review it your "scratch disks" is assigned to.

  4. in the same location that the files above, you should see a leader ("MediaCoreQT...") XML, copy the file and put in place course (incase your project does not open) and delete the original. This will force the first to another XML file to reference the media.

  5 when opening project you you will see it in accordance with your media. Hopefully it will be the last time.

  6 save and exit after compliance is complete. Open it again and see if the problem persists. If it worked to remove the copy without danger and the newly made project files 'remove' and you should be good.

  You can repair it yourself. I have a screenshot guide. You use app the Mac Terminal and a python (.py) script that comes with the recovery of the license for the Mac package.

  Yes, that's correct. There are a number of effects and transitions that do not exist for the Mac that has the Windows version otherwise. You will probably see something like "offline filter" in the effect controls panel for effects that do not have Mac versions. I think they'll just be ignored (they obviously have no effect - pun a little), or you can delete them. Similarly, transitions that are not just Mac will appear as a generic transition no name placeholders; Similarly, they do nothing. If one of them is critical to the output, you will need to replace it with something available on the Mac.

• opening project CS5 in CC6 - edited clips my camera just in the wrong place in the images

  Can anyone help with this one... I built my project in CS5 and has not used any feature mulitcam, but simply aligned images of my two cameras manually.  Now I'm trying to open it in CC6 polishing and color, etc.  When I open the project file I don't get mistakes and just rename the project file.  When it opens in fact, all of my B-camera clips are correct, but all my clips in camera camera-has moved to other sections of the sequence and are totally screwed up.  I checked the frame rate on everything in media locations in 5 and 6 to ensure that nothing has changed in the transfer and checked the sequence settings in both institutions.  None of the publishers I know have experienced this problem.  Please help if you can!
