Opening PageMaker 7.0 documents in InDesign CS2

I want to open PageMaker 7.0 documents in InDesign CS2. InDesign gives an error message "the Pagemaker document is damaged and cannot be recovered" but the document open perfectly well in Pagemaker.

Any suggestions?

CS2 and files will never open previous PM whereupon it was later than XP SP2. In addition, CS2 is not supported on Windows 7 for all other questions, that you have can be connected as well to that.

    I used to be able to open my Pagemaker 7 using InDesign CS2 files - but now getting a mssg saying: the files are damaged (they are not because I can still open in PM). Any ideas?

    My hunch is that you use XP SP3 or Vista or Win7. There are known issues with trying to open the files MP in CS2 after applying SP3.

    then open it on PC and save with the new name as INDD file

  • Need of indesign cs2 to open pagemaker files

    It is my understanding that p65 and pmd (old pagemaker) files can be opened with indesign cs2. However, I can't get a copy. Help?

    You can do so until CS6 and CS6 is available from the CC.

    If you have a license from CS2 you are allowed to download CS2, but I guess that is not the case here.

  • InDesign (CS2), do not open the files PageMaker 7 (PC)

    On our PC at work, InDesign will not open the PageMaker files. I get an error that it is not a correct file type. Research on the labour issue, I read that Service Pack 3 can cause problems and you should go back to Service Pack 2. Is this really necessary? Was this a common problem?

    Either that or upgrade.

  • Cannot open Pagemaker files in InDesign Cs2

    In the past I could usually all open Pagemaker 6 or 6.5 file in InDesign CS2. However, this no longer works. I get a message o the screen tells me the file is corrupted and cannot be opened. (I can't really put the original message that I get because it is in German).

    In this case for any Pagemaker 6 or 6.5 file I have in my deposit (and there are still plenty of left while I tried many Versions of PM and different dates)

    As to the first, I tried to reinstall InDesign CS2 from the original disks. I uninstalledit before and did a reboot of the Machine until I reinstalled it.

    I use a Windows XP baesed system.

    Does anyone have an idea on what I might try to get back to work?

  • New problem opening Pagemaker files in InDesign

    I have a lot of files to archive in Pagemaker 6 and 7 and now use InDesign CS2. Until recently, I could open the pagemaker files in InDesign and save as files InDesign and there I went.

    But now, I get an error message just saying: the document is damaged and cannot be recovered. First off I thought it was really a corrupted document but then realized all my old .pmds said the same thing.

    Is there a known issue with perhaps a recent update of InDesign or something?

    I'd really like to be able to access my old msdp!

    Thank you in advance.

    No, but I bet you're on Windows XP, right?

    CS2 + Windows XP Service Pack 3 = cannot open PageMaker files, at all.

    If my proposal is false and you are on a different OS, you can just ignore me.

    You should have no problem opening PM 6.5 files in ID. But if you are pregnant of perfection or if the customer need PM files, you're the GROUND.

    After registration and closing a document in InDesign, I can't open it. I've been working and save on Adobe CC. I can't get it back and when you use file > open, it does not appear. What can I do?

    Hello

    Please send your InDesign file to [email protected] and I'll take a look at the document.

    If the file is larger than 10 MB, you can zip (and password protect) the file download on Cloud creative (or) Dropbox account and send us the link to the document.

    Kind regards

  • Need to open Pagemaker 7 files to InDesign CC 2015. Answer said opening Pagemaker files in previous InDesign program. WHAT!

    How the ^ $^ & * (* I open my hundreds of files Adobe Pagemaker in InDesign CC newer?) When I tried, I got a response that I should open Pagemaker in an earlier version of InDesign. Come on, Adobe!

  • Open the document in Indesign cs5.5 server

    Hi guys!

    I have a problem when opening documents in CS5.5, I upgraded our Indesign server CS3 CS5.5 and using the indesignserver api for Java.

    I'm under Jboss, J2EE, CORBA, and CS5.5 with 8 instances.

    When I open multiple documents *.indt I get "Please close one or more documents Adobe InDesign Server or books or libraries and try again." It seams that Indesign server is locked

    the file. If I did not load the indesign has no problem. I read the new API and I open the document with:

    com.Adobe.IDs.basics. ApplicationOperations. Open Throws (VariableType , OptOpenOptionsEnum openOption) IdsException

    My code:

    VariableType vtDocument = application.open (VariableTypeUtils.createFile (documentFileName), OptArg.noOpenOptionsEnum ());

    Document document = DocumentHelper.narrow (vtDocument.asObject ());

    I don't really know what are the OptOpenOptionsEnums available and sending in no option, I think that the problem is here, because in CS3

    I don't have to send the OpenOptionsEnum to the open method.

    What kind of OptOpenOptionsEnums is there to choose?

    Anyone get the same problem? solutions?

    I found a solution!

    I looked at the Javascript api for the OptIOpenOptionsEnum and took the number enums and created new OptOptionOptionsEnum in java:

    OptOpenOptionsEnum open_copy = OptArg.makeOpenOptionsEnum (1332757360);

    OptOpenOptionsEnum open_original = OptArg.makeOpenOptionsEnum (1332760343);

    OptOpenOptionsEnum open_default = OptArg.makeOpenOptionsEnum (1147563124);

    And then simply send in one of the OpenOption which fits your needs as the second argument to the open method, as follows:

    VariableType vtDocument = application.open (VariableTypeUtils.createFile (documentFileName), open_default);

  • Should help the learner to build books from Indesign CS2 documents

    I am undertaking a project using Indesign CS2 I was ideal for the metaphor of the book.  I have about 17 chapters, small InDesign documents, I add to a book. Page numbering works fine, the mastersheets apply correctly when the page moves right, face to face to the left.  Very cool.

    My problem is how to get the text boxes to move with the master page.

    I placed a couple of text boxes on the page master and used the copy / paste in Place on the actual page.  I thought it would work, but the text boxes are remained were that they were placed at the origin.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Bob

    Unless you Place, not paste the text in text frames, will not do for you. That said, you probably really don't need frameworks masters at all. If the text block is the same size block framed by the margin guides you can autoflow text without the main frame and the ID will make new frameworks based on the margins, and if you enable the setting of the page layout, images aligned with margin guides should move when you change the camp if the margin guides change position.

  • How to export text editable Photoshop cs2 to indesign cs2

    Is it possible to export the text and mast its editability in photoshop cs2 to Indesign cs2?

    If so, how can I go about it?

    Thanks in advance for your help

    According to the used slides, you might be able to save the PSD to PDF format, and then open it in illustrator. If you're lucky, you'll have a rough, but the document editable.

    However this is not really the best thing for your problem...

    change the size of your canvas by adding. 25 "(ou double la purge requise) in photoshop, keep your current job centered." Once you've done that expand your art into this area, but keep in mind this area will BE cut. Now save your Document.

    Open indesign, create a new document in your finished size correct, click more options, add your required purge setting (usually. 125 "), and then place your photoshop image. Finally export to PDF using the method regardless of your printer like, check use describe the background settings lost and change the offset of the brand to. 125 ".

  • Saving InDesign CS4 to InDesign CS2 files

    I'm about to upgrade CS3 to CS4 but do create a customer who needs to open InDesign CS2 documents. I saved files for this customer to the interchange (.inx) of CS3 format, which worked well. But the .inx CS4 files won't open in CS3. A work-around, I found was at TUAW (http://www.tuaw.com/2009/05/08/tuaw-tip-saving-indesign-cs4-files-for-indesign-cs2/), which suggests to open the .inx file in a text editor and change the version number. The resulting file should then open in CS4. I was wondering if anyone has tried this (with or without success) or has advice on saving CS4 docs for CS2? Thank you very much!

    I am just posting on the offhand chance that Peter is not going to be enough hard.

    The best choice: anyone using CS4

    2nd best: everyone using CS2

    3rd best: CS4--> INX-> CS3->-> CS2 INX

    4th best: editing the INX CS4 in a text editor and it opens directly in CS2

    That last work, in general, if you only use tools that are in CS2, but it's a hack of Rouxel-Ribbon for ducts that I wouldn't trust unless I found myself stuck between the proverbial rock and hard place.

  • Opening PageMaker files

    I use PageMaker 7.0. I need to upgrade to InDesign, but cannot open my PageMaker files in InDesign CC. Is there a way I can temporarily download InDesign CS so I can open my PageMaker files and save them in a format that CC InDesign can then open? I am on a deadline, so any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    If you have CC with InDesign, you can download InDesign CS6 CC App. Select the tab made Apps scroll to find Apps additional and in the menu select the previous Versions, and you can choose to download CS6. InDesign CS6 lets you open Pagemaker 7 files.

    Be aware that it is a translation that is not perfect.
