When I try to open a pdf file. files out of my email, it comes down in a code format in Microsoft word so that I don't see what I see. I just get a bunch of letters that are code for something, so my question is how I could solve this problem?

    Hi Stephen39,

Do you have any 3rd party plugin installed for Adobe Reader? If not, close all instances of Adobe Reader running and delete the entire folder to: C:\program Adobe [version] \Reader\plug_ins.

Now go to control panel > programs and features. Locate the entry for Adobe Reader X and choose to repair the installation.

If you do not have a 3rd party plugin installed, try to uninstall them and see if the problem is related to the same. If it works, let me know what plugins have been the origin of the problem so that I can have a look.

If all goes well, this should fix things.

This can be corrected?

  • How to decrease the size of the PDF file without reducing the quality and links?

How to decrease the size of the PDF file without reducing the quality and links?

    Michael and Phil,

Your ability to reduce the file without diminishing its quality depends on the quality required for their intended use. If these are intended for viewing on screen, then high resolution pictures can be re sampled or changing the resolution without real change is the quality, as long as the user can say. Number of files use subsets of fonts or the incorporations of fonts. Sometimes you can remove subsets of fonts or embedding the fonts if the font will be on the user's system. Subsets of fonts can save space, but if the pdf is a result of several different sources, desincorporation policies and incorporating a copy of the policy can save space.

Honestly, the size of 2 MB file is not the problem it once was. However, maybe the pdf not by e-mail at all. There are players on a server as well as a link sent to each user.

So, we finally found the problem.  Since I had the Windows preview window selected in my settings, when you try to remove any PDF, Windows is the thought that the file is open on a preview pane.  Once we cut the setting, I could delete the PDF file.

This means that you are using a browser that uses its own Viewer (incompatible) PDF, not the Adobe Reader plugin.

To configure Chrome or Firefox see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

I don't know about Windows 8, or if/how its PDF Viewer is integrated in Internet Explorer.

  • open pdf file without change and ask to register [SharePoint]

Hi, I'm doing migration Domino doc to Sharepoint 2010 migrated under MS Word. When I come to the SharePoint click here to see the pdf attachment in the document, I encountered this message asking me to save. I did not change the document, while browsing through the attachment to check if everything is successfully migrated. To the user, it will be very painful because it just open pdf without change and ask to record every time. Is there no work around for this problem? What is the behavior of MS Office?

  • Linking PDF files without losing the display focus on the anchor link

Imagine that I have two PDF files. One is a short letter which is long about 3 pages. The other is a long letter. Short letter cites specific paragraphs in a long letter (not pages). I want to put a link on the top of each reference, such as when you click on the link in a short letter, it opens on the correct paragraph in a long letter and through short letter. I have tagged each paragraph in the letter along with a bookmark and I plan on manual associate quotes bookmarks.

What would be the best way to achieve this? I played with function of linking Acrobat x and I looked in the creation of a workbook. However, I can't find a great solution. Ideally, I would like to make a link to the bookmark so that the user does not lose their place in the short letter; either with a 'back' button, by overlaying the content in some way, or by opening the second document in a new window.

I fairly accurately described the situation, but it is the function that would be useful frequently.

    Hello

    Just me Moguls here.

PDF bookmarks do not "tag" something in a PDF file. Bookmarks provide a phletora of the shares. One of them must take the user to a specified page.

Combine a page view setting with that of spice up the destination of the link.

For your desired process consider the desired destinations named in paragraph Long-letter creation. Configure appropriate bookmark to go there.

You can assemble PDFs (and other files supported) in a portfolio. Remember that Portfolios depend on Flash and which includes the appearance of how the trade winds blow it seems that Flash is heading for disapproval.

You can combine several PDF files into one. However, all of the links created between a Short letter to a Long letter will be broken. Of course, combining you broke 'em (you have created a single new PDF file, and each of those links required two PDF files (a 'from' and a 'to').)

If you have two files ('from' and 'to'), and then configure the link as the destination file opens in a separate file. With the file 'to' just and close it. The "de" PDF is always open. Or use the functionality of previous display of Acrobat / Reader. The link led on the 'of' PDF above in the "to" PDF. Do? Use the previous view and return to 'to' (a whirlwind of tutu?).

Easier to implement what you want in the PDFS created if a robust application is used. InDesign is nice, FrameMaker is my preference.

    Be well...

  • Read a PDF file without knowing the size of stream

    Hello

while I am able to properly read a PDF file, the only way I can do it (in function
on what I heard in the master PDF 1.7) is to go the end of the stream and
    start from here (section 7.5.5).

But this requires the size of the stream to be known. While this is usually not a
problem (since the flow is usually a simple file), I would like to make my
a bit more generic and be able to manage any type of flow, as library
as long as it is placed at the beginning of a PDF document.

But unless I missed something of the form, when I'm dealing with a
unknown flow (a person who could not yet be fully charged when I started
reading, as an outlet), it is not how to do it. I mean, I could do it,
but I don't would not be able to tell when I arrived at the end of the document. Not
without some sort of length information (because I do not know where the stream)
ends). I mean, where to stop? In a trailer? That works only if the
    document have never been updated.

If, just after the header (%) PDF - he was a kind of meta-information on
the size of the document (after all the updates, if any) I could move the stream to
that post (wait for the data arriving, if necessary) and work my way of
He (and from there, because I would like to know where the document ends). But since my
understand, there is no way to retrieve such information.

So, to sum up, in order to properly read a PDF document:
-I always need to know the size of stream (which I might not be able to)
-the data flow must end with the PDF data (which could be also not always true)

    Am I wrong?

Unless the file has been established for "fast web view" (aka linearization - ISO 32000-1, Appendix F) Yes.

BUT, if a file be linearized so that it can be better managed in flow (at least for some parts of the PDF file).  It is not supported to pure stream - which is not possible - but it will help.

  • Edit pdf files without erasing the formatting

I change subcontracts. When you use Adobe Acrobat DC, my changes wreck havoc on the formatting supplied with pdf document. I can make additions before finally adding text creates text areas that accumulate.

    Hi Valerie,

I recommend the flattening of the PDF by printing to the Adobe PDF printer, and then try to change the pdf file in Acrobat DC and check.

    Kind regards

  • How do switch you between open pdf files? After the update, they are all now included in one. Y at - it shortcuts to switch between them? I have a windows computer.

    Help, please!

    Hello Cristina,

Yes, with the latest update, we have introduced tabs in Acrobat.

If you would like to keep tabs with Acrobat PDF function and want to switch between them, then you can use CTRL + TAB.

or if you want to enable the functionality of the tab and all want PDF to open in a new window then

go in Edition > Preferences > General

Uncheck the option in the tool pane of base, 'open documents as tabs in the same window (requires restart) '.

I would like to know if it works for you.

    Thank you

  • Production signed PDF files without using the incremental updates

    Hello

I know that it is possible to sign existing PDF files by adding new objects (such as the dictionary of the Signature) and gradually change catalogue, Pages objects etc accordingly. But what about programs produce the PDF file? I mean, they must also implement signature by adding a few items after the trailer and using incremantal update or they produce objects related to the signature inside the document directly and don't use incremental updates? Is there a difference? Is implemented with the help of incremental updates easier?

This is a design decision of the software according to their needs and requirements surrounding the signing process.
