  • Problems with the WEB BROWSER blackBerry Smartphones, use not wifi network to open some Web sites

Hello I'm owner of BB BOLD 9900 OS 7.1... for the last two days I am facing a pretty annoying problem with the BB browser.

It means not affects the device... it just annoys me.

When I TURN ON my WiFi on my BB with the network carrier Sim already homepage active who has a Active on it and open the web browser BB, according to the website on which I open the web browser chooses between the internet Wi - fi OR internet BIS carrier which is weird. BECAUSE a default if the wifi is enabled, then the web browser MUST use internet wifi network carrier for navigation. YOU TUBE, FB and TWITTER.com all use my carrier netwrok to open bt soon I open BBC.com or CNN or any other site the wifi symbol appears on the right side and so it uses the wifi network... and disappears when I opened THE 3 SITES you tube FB n twitter.

My knowledge is that when you activate THE wifi network, the WEB browser is intended to USE the wireless internet, NOT the internet carrier

The next time I switchd off the the carrier signal, and then Turned ON one internet WI - FI and then opened the web browser of BB. so now all the opend website with wifi internet bt as soon as I open YOU TUBE or FB or TWITTER.com it post a comment... .that cannot visit the web page when the carrier is off. Please turn on the radio n try again... I mean IT SHOULD OPEN with internet wifi? WHY do network carrier sim to open the web page?

I have checkd my browser settings and they are default and also my wifi settings I have reset the... the problem still persists?

  • End of picture for the Contact to blackBerry Smartphones

I will have no problem bringing more of my details, but the photos associated with contacts in Outlook will be transferred to the Blackberry.  Is this possible?

I have no problem with that. Contact transfer pictures very well, both Outlook in storm and vice versa.

You can check your synchronization settings... Here are a few instructions (I use Outlook 2007 btw)

    1. connect the storm to your pc

    2. open the Desktop Manager

    3. click on icon "synchronize".

    4. in the left menu, under "Configuration", click "sync".

    5. on the new right screen, click the 'sync '.

    6. once the software Intellisync window opens (it takes a few moments)...

    7. turn highlighted "Address book Microsoft Outlook <->" by clicking once on it, then click on the button "Advanced...". "below

    8. click on the "Field mapping" button at the bottom of the new window that opens

    9. scroll down until you find something like 'Photo <->Photo of Contact' and make sure that they are linked with the double arrow and they are mapped correctly, which means that 'Picture' on the side of the camera has 'Photo contact' on the side of Outlook.

You can run also through the installation wizard again, ensure that you have set to "Two-way synchronization", and the other settings are correct. You can reach the Setup program in the same window in step 7 above.

    Hope that helps

  • Frozen to the software update blackBerry smartphones

I have a Blackberry Curve 9360 and it is frozen all by doing an update of the software (progress overall backup 13%).  It has been like that for the last two hours.  I tried to take out the battery, but it just goes back to the same screen when it restarts.

    Can anyone help please?

    Two options to try:

    One:

    • Open Blackberry Desktop Software & connect your device with the PC using the USB cable, without inserting the battery.
    • You have three Retry option, update or cancel, and then click Update.
    • Once it is at the stage of the "initialization of pocket" update, then insert the batteries.
    • If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.

    Second:

    • Start your BlackBerry in safe mode.  Article ID: KB17877 how to start a mode BlackBerry smartphone without failure http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
    • Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
    • IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
    • Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
    • Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.

  • Help on the home screen blackBerry Smartphones nothing will work!

MY blackberry curve is locked on the main menu and I can move the trackball but I can't click on what whether, or type anything, I deleted it and put again but still nothing, also when the backlight turns off it won't restart! Help please!

Is there damage to the water? Open the battery compartment and check indicators on the battery and in the Bay of roses. Apparently, you do not have dropped the phone in water so that he could get moisture damage and it plays havoc on the keyboard and trackball. If the indicators are pink and then remove the battery and place the phone in a dry place, for example in front of an air conditioner. Give him a few days to dry, and then try again.

If this isn't the problem then this is may be defective. You're under? Generally, you are covered for 1 year then try and get a replacement.

  • Removal of the bookmark for blackBerry Smartphones

My turn a few weeks back and I love it. Verizon is my service provider. It comes pre-loaded with a link to homepage (Blackberry, bookmarks). When to open the web browser and click it, it opens to VZW today and lists 9 icons. All pretty useless in my opinion. So when I go to the bookmark page, it doesn't let me delete it. Every other bookmark, I gives me the option to delete the. How to nuke this bookmark for good? How can I change my homepage to another site? Thank you.

    Hello cmefly

I'm not sure that you can get rid of the Verizon bookmark that is there, but you can certainly change the homepage.

To change the opening of the home page of the browser, press the menu key, then select options, now select browser Configuration.  Once in the browser scroll to the bottom of the page and you should see Start Page and the address of the Home Page.  Change the Start Page of the Home Page and the address of the home page of what you would like it to be; This should take care of it for you.

  • Use of the memory of blackBerry Smartphones

I'm a little red faced.  But thanks for the instructions to the new Message.  I'm new to blackberry.  I have a lot of emails between different accounts.  This is my first experience with the receipt of e-mail to a "mobile phone".  I have checked through earlier assignments and know that my options are set for 30 days.  All these messages with attachments that have been opened are beings stored on the device memory?  It seems that I'll take five to 10 messages at once, or at least when I check, and I have not the time to remove a.  I also know that I can delete multiple messages as soon as possible.  Please, don't think it's crazy, but I hope that tolerate the elderly, it seems that if I just ignore these messages that I don't want to not display on my blackberry, stored in a bunch? No worries of memory?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD memory card

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and (fixed size) space as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media - is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

On some devices/OS levels, enforcement and the memory of the device are combined into "free file"... This is, IMO, a little more difficult to administer that you can't see really how AppMemory you have. Nevertheless, here are some tips to use:

In addition, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. Rather, to close an application, press the BBKey and select 'Farm' or 'Quit'... that forces the application to be closed, freeing for your new use the resources it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

Now to your question... Yes, if you do not erase the messages, they take place on your device. But wherever we consume is more delicate than what I described above (there are a few other places of memory... but I did not fully understand those!). Basically, if your device starts running out of space to store messages, it will start delete 'old', even if the timer you have set has not yet expired on these points. It protect themselves first, then try to keep things for you.

As for the attachments... I don't think not that those who download, unless you open in fact the message and then again to open the attachment,... so, if leave you a message without opening it, the only storage that it'll take is the bit of the message itself... the attachment occupies no space if you don't ever get it.

    Good luck!

  • In the call settings blackBerry smartphones

    BlackBerry Bold 9650 (v 6.0.0.415) Sprint

    Issues related to the:

Options | Call management | Call settings

    (1) what exactly "Restrict my identity" options: {always |} Never | Network determined} and how/why I use?

    (2) what in the world is "alerts during a call: Privacy" alert options {None |} Tone} an alert?  And how and why I would use?

FORGIVE me if this is posted somewhere already - TRUST ME - I looked!

I just got this 'stupidphone' don't know if I'm happy with it.  I just discovered that I can't record a telephone conversation despite the fact that both parties are committed to ongoing registration.  It's nonsense and RIM apparent security excuse sounds like hogwash to me.  But I'm off track, I apologize.

Thank you in advance and give congratulations for a real answer.

1 limit my identity determines what your callee sees on their Caller ID.

    2. you want to receive alert messages during a call, like a tone slightly on the side of a call?

    Make this setting here.

If you don't like the BlackBerry, you might want to give him a few weeks of use to determine whether or not you're a good way with her. It is really, in my opinion, a steep learning curve a little more on the BlackBerry than many other features... in my opinion, it is worth. Had checked this or any forum BlackBerry user in advance, would have learned you that these devices are not likely registration call.

    Good luck.
