Optical transmitter/receiver

Hello

I have catalyst express 500 switch with GLC-SX-MM, 1000BASE-SX SFP transceiver modules.

Is it possible to change the speed of the transceivers to 100Mbit

I need know, because on the other side of the link is a converter of transmissions/metallic (AT-MC101XL

Card Fast Ethernet 100BASE-TX, 100BASE-FX (ST) multimode fiber (2 km), stand-alone media converter)

In my view, converter and tranciever are not compatible. Is it not?

I thank.

Unfortunately, the GLC-SX-MM is not switchable on operation of 100 MB. You can buy a 100Base-FX SFP module for your switch.

According to the following document, these are compatible with the 500 Express interfaces of 100 MB:

GLC-GE-100FX

GLC-FE-100FX

GLC - FE - 100LX

GLC-FE-100BX-D

GLC-FE-100BX-U

This document details the interoperability and the specifications of these SFP modules:

  • Connect a transmitter/receiver Base FX 100 to single-mode fiber

I'm looking to connect to an ISP circuit. The fiber is single mode and they have a transmitter/receiver Base FX 100 on their end.

I looked at the specs on that transmitter/receiver and it say TI should only be run on SMF.

Someone at - he had success with this?

    You are welcome.

For a VERY brief run your FORCES able to get a SM transceiver to work on MM optical fiber.

Coherent light ("single mode") of the laser, which embarks on a lot more large base of multimode fiber (usually 50 or 62.5 micron vs 9 micron for SM and having different characteristics of propagation and dispersion) can "transfer" over short distances.

I do in any production environment but that she would probably unstable in the long term (and is certainly not how the equipment is designed to operate).

    Thank you

Since then I've been able to solve my problem.

It seems that mouse, when you buy as a set of office, are "coded" somehow work with the receiver for this game. A little logic, I guess.

If you want the windows do not install the infrared transmitter when Windows restarts you can remove the connection of the transceiver to the computer or try to disable it in Device Manager. You may consult:

    (a) open Manager devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click System and security, and then, under system, clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • Connect the keyboard and mouse wireless with new transmitter/receiver

    Hello.

I have a keyboard and wireless Microsoft mouse 2000 but the transceiver does not seem to work.

I also have another transmitter/receiver (same model) which belongs to Microsoft Wireless Keyboard and Mouse 5000, so my question is:

is there a way to use the wireless 2000 with this new transceiver box? How can I change the transceiver settings so that it finds the keyboard and mouse?

    Thanks in advance

    You can not.

The receiver is synchronized with the keyboard and the mouse in the factory and cannot be re paired at the level of the Office

  • Why the excess USB traffic created by some models of the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Receiver?

As part of my work as a volunteer for a repairman to point not lucrative to registered of Microsoft, I test a selection of mouse and wireless keyboards that are given.  Based on the production of a software tool for USB port monitor, I noticed recently that some models of the Microsoft Wireless Desktop Receiver generate constant even when the keyboard and mouse are slowed traffic USB (about 10 transactions per second) or are completely absent.  This occurs with the 2.1 receiver Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop (model 1028) and the Microsoft Wireless Desktop receiver 3.1 (also labeled model 1028).  It does not occur with the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Receiver 1. 0a, nor have I watched Microsoft controls only receivers or receivers of Logitech mouse...

This makes me curious.  What do these receptors with all this chatter?  I assume deliberately, because I see the same thing in all the units I checked.  If I was pretty savvy to decode the trace of the USB, I might be able to figure it out by myself, but I'm not.  I hope that there is someone on this forum who remembers how these old 27 Mhz receivers are designed and who can make me jump the learning curve by giving me an explanation of a layman to what happens here.

  • Updates Windows 7 'broke' my Bluetooth transmitter/receiver

    Factory Refurb HP DV6-3143

    Windows 7 Home Premium

21/06/2006 6.1.7601.17607 generic Bluetooth device driver

I just got this machine and asked a wireless mouse.  I bought a Microsoft Mouse 5000 Bluetooth Mouse and a generic USB/Bluetooth transceiver.  Plugged the transmitter/receiver, windows 7 recognized and installed all necessary drivers.

Right-click on the Bluetooth icon in the notifications area and select "Add a Bluetooth device", and the "pair with a Wireless Device" window opens.

Installed new batteries in the mouse, put in operation, press and hold the button 'discover' for 10 seconds.  Windows 7 see.  Life is good.  Restart to validate Windows 7 they see on start up. Yes.

Shortly after, I download and install updates for Windows 7.  Restart the computer and no Bluetooth icon.  The Device Manager said that there is an error.  By using the Device Manager I have uninstall the Bluetooth Radio and stop.

Physically remove the USB Bluetooth transmitter/receiver and start-up.  Insert the transceiver, recognized, all loaded drivers.

Do "Add a Bluetooth device", "Pair with Wireless Device" window opens, turn on the mouse, press in and hold the button 'discover' for 10 seconds, green light, wait, wait, wait.

Green light turns off and then flashes red, then green, then red...

    Windows will never the mouse.

The steps above (uninstall the device, stop, remove transceiver, boot, insert transmitter/receiver, etc.) have been repeated 3 times with the same results.

There was a 'ghost' Bluetooth mouse on the system.  I removed it, restarted and the discovery process was a success!
