Hi Thibaut Lacroix,.

You have the database entry in the tnsnames.ora file? If this isn't the case, you must set.

And then you export the sid before calling the rman target /.

Please check and let us know the status

Kind regards

    Too bad, I was hoping that it would work with srvctl

    As you say a different way of configuring the service by referring to the favorite and attributes available for instances, but its not useful to know the instances that are open. Its helpful to separate the work to specific nodes by creating different services for different applications.

    Certainly, it only would be logical if you know in advance that you want to start an instance in editing mode and you want to bypass the connection failure. But when you know you're going to just mount a database he used to try to find later.

    I searched a bit on metalink and found notes 69546.1 which States that PMON will record with listeners the and remote start the instance, same no editing is required. Which is obviously stupid because of the error message you get when you try to connect.

    797713.1 note describes your exact problem and a solution. I'd love to quote, but I'm not sure if this is allowed or not. So instead I'll summarize what I learned: the default service that you create during the installation of first CARS behave as in one instance. As soon as the instance starts, it will register with the other. This is actually intended for you can perform administration. When you create additional services via srvctl or crs, they will somehow managed by crs and only you sign up once the instance is 'up' (I guess they mean open).
    So the solution would be to create another service through srvctl and use it for your connections.

  • Tnsnames.ora (ORA-12162) Configuration problems

    Hi all

    I have a database of 10.2.0.5 on a RedHat Linux box that I can use locally. I mean, I can connect to sqlplus using "connect scott/tiger".
    * $ export ORACLE_SID = MASTER *.
    * $ sqlplus /nolog *.
    * > connect scott / tiger *.
    * > Display the service_name parameter *.
    service name string MASTER.myhost.mydomain
    * > Display the db_name parameter *.
    db_name string MASTER

    Then, I wrote a listener.ora in my $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin like this:

    LISTENER_MASTER =
    *(DESCRIPTION =*)
    (* (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = myhost.mydomain) (PORT = 1522))) *.

    SID_LIST_LISTENER_MASTER =
    *(SID_LIST =*)
    *(SID_DESC =*)
    * (GLOBAL_DBNAME = Master.myhost.mydomain) *.
    * (ORACLE_HOME = /Oracle/product/10.2)*
    *(SID_NAME = MASTER))) *.

    Has successfully started lsnrctl start and netstat auditor shows me that the box is the listening port 1522, belonged to tnslsnr.

    On the same machine (for testing purposes), I wrote this tnsnames.ora in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin like this:

    MASTER =
    *(DESCRIPTION=*)
    * (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp (PORT = 1522))(HOST=myhost.mydomain)) *.
    * (CONNECT_DATA =(service_name=Master.myhost.mydomain))) *.

    Unfortunately, I am unable to connect to my MASTER database:
    * $ ORACLE_SID unset *.
    * $ sqlplus /nolog *.
    * > connect to scott/tiger@MASTER*
    ORA-12162: TNS service name: net is incorrectly specified

    A trace of the "sqlplus" system process shows me that it is the correct reading of the tnsnames.ora file, I have no TNS_ADMIN environment variable (I also tried to put in my $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin).

    The curious thing, is when I tried to launch netmgr, this interface allows to test a tnsnames entry. So I did, and he told me I logged successfully while I just load the configuration of my own (I mean, it uses the tnsnames.ora I wrote, and I even tried to crush him of netmgr without success)

    Another curious, tcpdump shows me no traffic on port 1522...

    I turned around many sites and checked my files .ora ten times... so if there are clues...

    It can be the default, but it may not be suitable for YOUR installation.

    I have tiyped

    tsping orcl:

    If we see that if you use tnsnames.ora to solve your connection request, the net service name "orcl" (that you specified on your tnsping) solves a service name (not a SID) of "orcl.homenet.telecomitalia.it".  Nowhere it is not a reference to XE in YOUR configuration.

    and SERVICES LSNRCTL:

    And we see that your listener support an instance named "orcl".  Once again, XE is not found.

    What should I type in SID?

    Maybe nothing.  Maybe you're using the wrong "type of connection', 'base', select 'tns '.

    Then 'network alias' dropdown will be filled with your tnsnames.ora file, to choose one.

    OR...

    Leave connection type as ' basic' and instead of 'SID', supply "service name".  If you go this route, you will need to provide the correct host name and port.  You can get the values of what you saw when you made "tnsping.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    A parenthesis is missing in the tnsnames.ora to your first post (just to the left of the ORACLE_HOME).

    For your listener.ora on the next post I did not notice a missing parenthesis.

  • NET Service name configuration

    Hi all

    I had set up an oracle db on my windows machine that has worked well. The database had a listener and 2 names of net services, that I had created with the wizard. After problems with my database, I formatted the hard drive and everything set up from scratch on a clean machine. The problem is, I can create one of the names to net service, which connects successfully. The second returns the message ORA - 12514. TNS listener does not currently of service requested in connect descriptor. The test has failed. The tnsnames.ora even freaked is used by both. Listener even as well. What I am doing wrong?

    Your output of lsnrctl is indicating that your database is registered at the listener with a service that danaos name. Change your TNSNAMES file. ORA file and replace the orcl in sections of danaos service name and try again.

  • Connectivity of user using net service name

    Hi all;

    The service_name database level value is different and of course vary in the tnsnames.ora file.

    So how oracle allows user connectivity using tns alias name?

    SQL > conn scott/tiger@CRMS

    Connected.

    SQL > show parameter service_name.

    )

    )

    DB version is: 11.2.0.1 on Linux

    Thank you

    I never statement "changes to the system registry.

    This is not necessary: when you use the default settings for the listener (as in your case), the instance automatically registers with the listener.

  • Listener (and the database instance) does not start automatically: ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently of service requested in connect descriptor

    Hi all... I am a newbie with oracle database.,.

    I have the problem of monitoring:

    I installed Oracle Database 11 g R2 XE on my CentOS 6.5 guest operating system.

    I changed the host name in my CentOS so (where installed oracle 11g R2 XE) after the installation was completed successfully.

    Installation-) before and during the hostname is localhost.

    (-) After the installation, I changed the host name in VMCentOS

    From the moment where I changed the host name, nothing starts automatically. In particular, the listener and the database instance does not start automatically.

    When I start the listener manually and I try to connect to the instance of database with SQLPLUS I get this error:

    ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect descriptor

    I think that the problem is due host name changed because I have to test and debug the object, re-installed a machine virtual operating system CentOS, re-installed oracle database 11 g and I do not have this problem. The database instance and the listener starts automatically!

    Can someone tell me if, maybe, the problem is with the host has changed? ... and why?

    P.S.: After changing the hostname I also modified the listener.ora and the tnsnames.ora by changing the HOST with the correct host name.

    Hello

    It seems that you don't install Oracle Database Express Edition (XE). If you post this question in the wrong forum.

    When you install EA or there is no script that starts the database at startup.

    If you wish, you can create by yourself. For example search for instructions to Google how to create script.

    Kind regards

  • The Oracle service name - with or without net suffix?

    In sqlplus I tape the show parameter name and I get the following output

    SQL > show the name of the parameter;

    instance_name string orcl

    lock_name_space string

    However, when I try to connect from a client PC like that

    sqlplus system/password@DBHOST/EXP

    I can not connect - I get the error:

    ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect

    On the host, I type lsnrctl status and I get this for the endpoints listening:

    Summary of endpoints listening...

    Service 'orclXDB.168.203.30' has 1 instance (s).

    Instance "orcl", State LOAN, has 1 operation for this service...

    The command completed successfully

    I can connect from a client computer, as long as I'm using the suffixe.168.203.30 - in other words

    sqlplus system/password@oracleexp/exp.168.203.30

    works very well. However, I won't use the suffix!

    Why the listener is adding a suffix in the name of my service and how do I stop this?

    Thank you

    A.

  • ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently in service

    I installed Oracle Database 11 g and I can access jet database SQL Plus and everything ok, but when I install developer Oracle 11 g and when I try to connect from the form of database, I can't.

    and when I go to the Network Configuration Wizard and add the connection I find this error "" ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently of service requested in connect descriptor "and when I check the service all the Oracle service works very well."

    I need help to solve this problem.

    Thank you
    EYAD

    Hello

    I think that your installation of forms is not configured properly again to connect to the database.

    Try to connect to sqlplus in forms_home with the name of the service, if you can connect to the database from there, you will be able to connect using forms also.

    You have netconfiguration manager in you installation of forms, you can use it to add an entry of tns for your database

    You can post your tnsnames.ora content of $ORACLE_INSTANCE/config

    Please see the thread {: identifier of the thread = 1091615}

    Hello

    First check that your asm is listening on listening port scan. If it is installed by default, so I suggest you change "(HÔTE = ucbdata-scan) ' to the local host where the asm instance"

    second thing is there is typo in your tnsnames file. change this part "(SERVICE_NAME = ASM)" to "(SERVICE_NAME = + ASM).

    It may be useful
