  We use 11.1.0.6.0, we created a user 'BARCOM' 5/6 months ago. During this time, I was not aware of the default profile in ORACLE 11 g. Now, the case is that our user is in grace period and after 7 days, it's lock.
  
  Our developer here is hardcoded in its request the password. Thus, we are unable to change the password. Please suggest what to do now...

  What is the grace of the time you have.
  Try to define grace as UNLIMITED or attempt to modify this field. By default, its going to take the SYSMAN default profile.

  I am running a sql statement select script bash as the below one,

  This affects the total of test_table for tot shell variable. Now I get the erro ORA below during the execution of this
  script

  Now the tot variable is assigned with count of test_table + ERROR: ORA-28002: the password will expire in x days.
  I need a way to get only the total number of rows without any string, set help command here? or should go for another way

  2. do not your processes in a script, but rather make it all through a procedure in the database and use, a work of database programming if necessary etc. and then you don't have to worry about these messages of "login".

  Using SQL Developer and the error message you get this indicates that it is a user database and you must use the command "Change" to reset the password.

  You can set the parameter to UNLIMITED PASSWORD_LIFE_TIME, but this only affects accounts who have not entered their grace period. If the user has already entered the grace period, then he or she must change the password.

  By default, the grace period is 7 days.

  I have installed Oracle 64-bit server in my Linux box. The 64-bit client is sure to be installed also. But for some reason, I need to install the 32-bit client on the same machine and do the job as well as the 64-bit client.
  I downloaded the 32-bit package and installed successfully with the user ora32. Run the root.sh to implement the approx... The user who installed the original oracle server is oracle.
  
  For the oracle user, I was able to connect to the server.

  Need your help to understand a basic tablespace clause when creating any object.
  I have a table owned by the user and reside on tuberculosis tablspace, table A has two indices i1 and i2, index i1 A user-owned and created by error index i2 belonging to user B.
  index i1 resides on the tb_index tablespace, i2 index created by mistake lies also on same tablespace tb_index.
  I have a question above given the scenario
  
  I2 index that was created by mistake lies in tablespace tb_index, despite mentioning any tablespace clause. How it can be created on the tb_index tablespace when the developer did not mention the tablespace.
  tablespace tb_index is neither database tablspace default is default not storage for user B.

  Please don't be crazy on me, but in my opinion, this is the wrong place for your question. The fact is that Toshiba doesn't support Windows 2003 server for mobile computing. If you have problems try again with Microsoft.
  As a manufacturer of operating system, they should be able to offer an explanation for each error message. Sorry, but I see no connection between the problems described and Toshiba as a hardware manufacturer.

  I am facing the following problem:

  labVIEW 2012 32 bits 64 bits of Windows 7, 10.2.0.1.0 oracle client (32-bit).

  I created a DSN from Data Sources (ODBC) (32-bit version of what in % windir%\syswow64\odbcad32.exe) pointing to an instance of Oracle 10 g.

  I have test the DSN in this way (IE. Data sources (ODBC) and the connection is successful (which means that the tnsnames.ora is correct).

  I use the "DB tools Open Connection.vi" in order to get connected to this database, passing as parameters the DSN above, the user name and password.

  I get the error:

  ADO error: 0x80040E4D
  Exception occurred in the Microsoft OLE DB provider for ODBC drivers:

  I already solved the problem (work until late Saturday).

  the solution was to install the latest version of the Oracle customer, namely: Oracle 11 g Release 2 CLIENT for Windows 32 (11.2.0.1.0).

  Now everything works OK.

  I also tested in Windows 7 32 bit (the .vi even and the same Oracle client). This will also OK.

  I am facing the following question when I try to connect by using the command prompt sqlplus for Oracle 11.2.0.3 DB installed and running on HP - UX.

  The password is not all special characters & I also tried with the double quotes which did not work.

  Following want to work with username/password@TNSNAME because I'm trying to get my application to connect to the database, the schema mentioned because it uses the jdbc connection with the connection as (username/password@TNS:1521) string.

  You must be in a comeback or XA transaction. This means that you can not call a procedure that has a COMMIT, because hiring the framework of a transaction is logically impossible. So remove the VALIDATION of the procedure. Which you should do anyway: to engage in a procedure is usually a bad thing.
