We are configuration link database to oracle 10g of mssql 2005
Thanks to the heterogeneous connectivity. We get the following error when testing database link.

Message.
Error on line: column 4:19
Can someone guide correct configeration of Hetrogeneous Service and why the error arises.
Thank you
Basu,
Dg4ODBC gateway can be used with the 10.2.0.5 database. It is certified and no additional license is required for the database to ODBC gateway - the license is included in the license database (even when the Oracle database is still version 10.2) AND you can also install Dg4ODBC on another machine, then the Oracle database. There is no need to have Dg4ODBC installed on the same computer as the Oracle database.
-When you install DG4ODBC on the same machine as your Oracle 10.2 database, then install in its own, separate OH - otherwise you will corrupt your existing installation of the database.

Migration from SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 10g
Dear friends,
I need to move my tables with data from SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 10 g. How can we make the best possible?
Please guide me.
NithHere are the 4 options (it is perhaps more)
* 1.* export to text file in SQL2005 and load text files using external table in Oracle
* 2 in the Oracle ODBC for SQL Server connection configuration and simply pull the data using create table abc to select * mytable@sqlserver - if the oracle is on windows, this should be quick, free and painless, it works under unix as well. Examples
http://www.databasejournal.com/features/Oracle/article.php/3442661/making-a-connection-from-Oracle-to-SQL-Server.htm
http://www.easysoft.com/applications/Oracle/database-gateway-dg4odbc.html* 3.*, I think that you can configure the connection between SQL SERVER and Oracle
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/280106
or and I hate this solution in general, but it works in the content is low
* 4 in MS Access link to ORACLE and MS SQL Tables (two linked tables) and then create the insert query to move the data from the server sql for oracle - this solution works, but it is quite slow.

Urgent: db link from oracle 10g to sql server 2000
Hello
I have an oracle 10g db connection to sql server 2000. It was created a couple of years. This works.
I have now created another link db of the same oracle on the same sql server server but it does not work.
But I'm getting ORA-28500 and error IM002
. Please notify.
I can't understand what is wrong as I followed the hs odbc set up on this link db in the same way as I did 2 years ago.
Thank you
Shailaja
Just sort the problem.
Basically, I use HSODBC to connect to SQL Server from Oracle (on windows 2003 64-bit).
To do this, I need to create a connection ODBC from Oracle to SQL Server.
HSODBC is a 32-bit application and is why we use the ODBC 32-bit driver when we create the ODBC connection.
When I created the connection ODBC from Oracle to SQL Server, I used the ODBC 64-bit driver and that's why the system could not find the name of the data source.
I have now created connection ODBC from Oracle to SQL Server via the ODBC 32-bit driver and everything works fine now.
No offense to anyone, but as you all works using Oracle software, I was hoping a better answer than some of the answers above. You can say that you did not understand the question or you do not know the reason why it happened.
I have just listed how the problem was fixed so that in the future one having the same problem can benefit.

the variable name of database query to SQL Server using the Oracle database link
Hi all
I have an ApEx 4.1 application running on x 64 (11.2.0.1) 11g on Windows Server 2008 x 64, and I have a few points of data integration with SQL (2005 and 2008) server that I need to create. I have configured the database with dg4odbc link and it works perfectly... I can run queries on the SQL Server database without any problem using the database link.
However, there is a scenario where the SQL Server database name is dynamic, and I need to generate on the fly in a PL/SQL block and then use it in a query dynamic SQL (all this in the ApEx). It of wherever I meet problems... when I asked the default database that is based on the ODBC connection and I don't have to specify the name of the database, no problem. But when I need access to one of the several other databases by default, I received the error "invalid table.
It works well:* (note that 'fv' is the name of my database link)
v_query1: = "select 'Release Date' from dbo." Schedules@FV where dbo. Annexes. "" SchedID "=: calendar";
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE v_query1 in rel_date using the grid.
I then take this rel_date variable, convert a varchar2 (rel_date_char), then use it as the name of the database in the following query...
_ It returns an error(error ORA-00903: invalid table name)
v_query2: = "select"PARTNO": rel_date_char.dbo.ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID' =: calendar and"UnitID"=: unit"
and 'MasterKey' =: master and "ParentKey" =: parent';
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE v_query2 in part_number using planning, master, parent unit;
I also tried using all of the following conditions without result:
"select"PARTNO"of" | : rel_date_char | '.dbo. ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID '...
"select"PARTNO"of" | rel_date_char | '.dbo. ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID '...
"select"PARTNO"of" | @rel_date_char | '.dbo. ProdDetails@fv where 'SchedID '...
"select"PARTNO"in @rel_date_char.dbo.ProdDetails @fv where 'SchedID'..."
Is it possible to do it in PL/SQL?
Thanks for any help!

Now, using the variables to make the selection:
SQL > declare

11 LOOP
12 nr: = DBMS_Hs_Passthrough.fetch_row@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3 (c);
13 when the exit nr = 0;
14 dbms_hs_passthrough.get_value@FREETDS_DG4ODBC_EMGTW_11_2_0_3 (c, 1, val);

18 end;
19.
24576PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
=> instead of executing the statement using the "execute Immediate" we use the PASTHROUGH package to pass the statement to SQL Server.

Imported a few diagrams of Oracle database 11g oracle 10g
Hello
I have the task to import some schemas are basis of oracle 10g (10.2.0.4) in the database to oracle 11 GR 2 (11.2.0.2). Now I only oracle 10g export and import utility (the 11g server is not where I give myself the import duties).
I can do the export of the g 10 patterns using the 10 g utility to export and then import into database 11 g using the 10 g import utility? I ran a test to do this and found it works but I would like also to have advice from experts on this subject.
Also another question is: If the schema of the source is 11g - assume - can the utility of export/import of 10g still work in this case? I mean the scheme for the export of db1 say (which is 11 g) using 10 g utility to export and import them into 11 g db2 database (which is still 11 g) using 10 g import? I request because I don't have access to the 11g server and trying to find what I can do with the 10g utilities.
Thank youset up a database connection to the database to version 10 gr 2 in 11 GR 2 database.
Now using the client impdp GR 11, 2 utility use
Impdp network_link =Fact.
Your "objection" you have no access to GR 2 11 does not count that you can install a client of 11 GR 2.Also in general do not use a version more low imp to imp to a higher version database
Exp and imp are also deprecated in 10g and more.-------------

Error connecting to DB2 Oracle, through database links
Hello
I'm working on an application of VB in which I use the ORAOLEDB. Driver Oracle to connect to my Oracle 10 g R2 server. My Oracle database connect in turn to a DB2 database via a database link. When I try to run stored procedures that contain simple PL/SQL queries, the connection works very well and recovers all data. However, when I try to run a CEP stored containing a reference cursor in it, I start to meet the following in the application error message:
ORA-01002: Fetch out of sequence.
Line before the < < DB DB2 link > >
Please do advice.
Thanks in advance.Hello
I can miss the obvious here, but could you please post the code that creates a local transaction suggests? I'm not very familiar with the use of interop with VB ADO, but I guess there should be a con. BeginTrans in there somewhere as there is in VB6.
Try something like this (can not compile, just coding top-of-my-head here)
mcnnOBBT.BeginTrans Set rstTBK = cmdStoredProc.Execute If rstTBK.Fields("Book_Num").Value <= 1 Then MsgBox ("u are set") End If mcnnOBBT.CommitTrans cmdStoredProc.Properties("PLSQLRSet") = False Set rstTBK = Nothing
