    Hi all
Using ATG 9.1 my application works fine, but after I installed oracle 10g my Jboss starts up, but I couldn't run my application?
This shows that the requested Url is not found...

Could you please tell me why this happens...

    Thanks in advance...

    Thank you and best regards,
    Sudhakar.

This happens in oracle 10g for oracle 10g is also used as the default http port 8080.
And if your application server is running on default 8080 port you ll see this problem.

To solve this, all you need to do is change the port to some other port number 8080 by default oracle.
See the link below to change the port.
    http://daust.blogspot.in/2006/01/XE-changing-default-HTTP-port.html

After changing the port, restart your computer again and you should be able to access your application very well.

You can install 11 GR 2, as you try to do.

Another option would be 11g XE - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/express-edition/downloads/index.html

    Basu,

Dg4ODBC gateway can be used with the 10.2.0.5 database. It is certified and no additional license is required for the database to ODBC gateway - the license is included in the license database (even when the Oracle database is still version 10.2) AND you can also install Dg4ODBC on another machine, then the Oracle database. There is no need to have Dg4ODBC installed on the same computer as the Oracle database.

-When you install DG4ODBC on the same machine as your Oracle 10.2 database, then install in its own, separate OH - otherwise you will corrupt your existing installation of the database.

    Hi Srini,

Thank you for helping me with the link to be honest, I had looked into it long back...

Yes, the software worked just yesterday, I had installed on XP(different machine).

I've added my PC to the domain, logged in as administrator & double clicked, even... no response.

Finally, I used "command prompt" and it worked!   don't know how or why... but worked.

Now my database is created successfully

Yes would like to know why this happened... and how things worked via the command prompt & not by double clicking... would be very happy if someone can help me on this.

  • Installing Oracle 10g

I have centos 5.8 and I want to install oracle 11g, is there any problem with the version of the OS? It is better to install Oracle 10 g 11g spot?

    Thank you.

CentOS is not a distribution supported - versions of supported operating system are listed in the installation guides to Linux for your specific version of Oracle to http://docs.oracle.com

Others have tried to use CentOS, some successfully. Problems arising from the installation or use of the software on this operating system, you need to fix yourself.

Is there a reason that you can not use an operating system supported?

Oracle all its IO past to operating system queries. He doesn't know or care about RAID, leaving that to the BONE.

  • Where to place the folder forms and reports for oracle 10g on Linux server

    Hello...

Currently, iam has a migration to oracle 10g module.
All my modules which consists of form and report files are inside a
folder named PROJECT and placed in C:\ in windows server.
So when I want to call a form or a report I used the path as "C:\PROJECT\module_name\form_name.fmx."
My client now wants her project to be used in the LINUX-based server.

Now, I want to know where I should put my form project file and file reports
and how I should call them...

    Thanks in advance

Can you say how can I call reports as u said hardcode the path when the report is not a good practice.

I agree with Dhiraj Madan, paths of coding is a very bad idea, your application has become non-portable.

For FORMS_PATH, you can use default.env, as already said (or .env, if applicable).

The same can be done for REPORTS_PATH, using the reports.sh script, in $ORACLE_HOME/bin.

  • Installing Oracle 10g Release 2 CD Companion

Oracle recommmends database Oracle 10 g companion CD products must be installed in a different ORACLE_HOME from the one used for the database.

I installed Oracle Database 10 g Release 2 10.2.0.3 on Windows Vista by using the Setup program universal of Oracle. The ORACLE_HOME = C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1
    -OraDb10g_home1.

{color: #0000ff} I then installed Oracle Database 10 g Release 2 Companion CD by using the Setup program universal of Oracle. When I tried to install the companion CD products in an another ORACLE_HOME (OraDb10g_home2 - db_2) on the screen "specify host details" in YES, I got an error.

When I chose the existing ORACLE_HOME used for the database, there is no error and I could continue and complete the installation of the Companion CD
    Products.

The upgrade patch (6810189) 10.2.0.4 must also apply to the ORACLE_HOME, used by the Oracle 10 g Companion CD products when the Oracle 10 g companion CD database is installed successfully in a different ORACLE_HOME from the one used for the database?

Please let me know how I can install the Oracle 10 g companion CD database in a different ORACLE_HOME from the one used for the database.

    {color} Thank you!

In 10g companion CD contains various products such as UltraSearch. These products are expected to be installed in the current DB 10 g host only. While installing 10G companion CD, you have 3 options, one to install in the same House and other 2 install in separate House. One of the other 2 is to install 10g DB Express.

  • Download Oracle 10g Standard: Linux, Windows Vista or OS x Leopard

    Hi all

So I am new to Oracle with some experience with SQL and MySQL. I take a class intro to Oracle DB and get 10g installed on one of my three computers ASAP (no later than Sunday as the class started a week ago).

I first tried to install on my HP G50 with Dual Core Pentium - my favorite computer. The problem is that it is running Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit), which is not supported by 10 g (AFAIK). Only Vista Business and Ultimate appear to be supported. Given that he is my favorite computer, I considered buying Windows XP (but I shall certainly wonderful capability of Vista to search for all files with a field). I have also reviewed the upgrade to Business or Ultimate. But if I'm going to shell $ 100-200 for a new OS, Oracle download better with astonishing ease and purrr like a kitten.

Then I looked at my iBook G4, but it seems that my current version of OS X Leopard 10.5.2 is not supported by 10g either. I have the disks of OS X which originally came with the computer. They have Mac OS version 10.3.7 written on them (3 discs) and there's a 4th disk that has written about this the following: Mac OS X Tiger, includes Xcode 2, DVD to upgrade, Version 10.4. Do you know if it's the same OS X 10.5.4 or is this elucubration on my part, since I know that 10.5.4 is taken in charge by 10g?

My other option is to get out my old eMachines T3092 desktop with AMD Athlon XP processor 3000 +. He used a Windows XP Home Edition on it, but now it crashes regularly and so I have not used for about 6 months. My friend thinks that it would be good for me to wipe it and put Linux on it. He thinks it would be a great server to support the Oracle, and it would be good for me to have an experience with Linux because I want to become a professional DBA.

Please tell me which route you would take and why. I want to spend as little time on operation of 10g as possible getting.

    Thank you

    Ryan
