  Once you have access to My Oracle Support (MOS) you can search this is the knowledge base, download patches and other versions of the software is not available publicly, or lift SRs to get help from Oracle.

• Oracle Silent 10 g client installation

  I am creating an answer file to install the Oracle client on several computers, but I don't know what the problem with the answer file.
  
  I first create this answer file by using this command line:
  ... \setup-enregistrer - FichierDestination < myfile.rsp > (found here: [http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/html/B13804_02/advance.htm])
  
  Then I choose I want to install components (in my case):
  sqlplus-
  -Interfaces oracle JDBC/THIN
  (- Interface Windows oracle with only these options: Objetcs, Oracle OLE driver ODBC Oracle, Oracle provider for OLE DB, Oracle Data provider for .NET)
  -Call for oracle Interface (OCI)
  
  When the installation is complete, I see a new in the installed odbc drivers.
  
  But when I take the response file generated trying to install all of this, the process works, but in the end I can't see any new available for Oracle odbc driver.
  And when I throw well YES to see if the components have been installed, it's as if it was nothing before. Draw all the components, I chose are marked as installed...

• Oracle BI Client installation on Windows only, 64 bit portable

  On the download page for BIEE, I received instruction to install JDK, Web server, Oracle BI 12 c and Oracle BI Developer tool Client.  In my opinion, this is the server installation package.  I want only the Client tool.  Can someone clarify this for me?  I know it's pretty simple, but... I still need an answer.  Thank you.

  This gives you the client tools OBIEE I think you're after.

  A similar section exists under article 11 g if that's what you're after.

  We will install oracle client. We use oracle net services to configure essbase with the help of oracle, which is installed in the other database server. That is why we are installing oracle client.

  Now my question is during the installation exactly customized including all the checkboxes should I check. There are a lot of items displayed in the installation window. I want to know what should I check to install only oracle net services.

  Go to the Administration of Oracle Client installation. Then copy the TNS server entry and paste it to the customer.

  Start access, the database of the customer.

  I want to install Essbase 11.1.2.2 customer. E delivery site do I download only "EPM System Release 11.1.2.2.0 Client installers for Microsoft Windows V31866-01" or any file must also be?
  
  During installation should I only run the essbaseclient.exe file (I just need excel addin too)? It seems for this installation of version of the files are changed.

  The essbase client is available in the client installation package or you can download a newer version of the fix for the Support of Oracle.
  The essbase client is a stand-alone Installer (.exe), it does not include the excel add-in, add-in excel is in record ExcelAddin in the installation package.

  If you want to install both then run the executable for the customer and essbase excel add-in, they are supported on Windows 7.

  In the stage of selection, choose to install only the ODI Studio and the local agent. It is the client software.

  There is an option to download only client for Windows (and Linux I believe). It happens to be located along the coast that the downloads for you database make it as if you try to download the database and in the end, you will see an option for a client download only. The download only client that comes with the Oracle Universal Installer is a few hundred MB, not as big as the download of the database, but much better than the Instant Client download.

  I try to install the Oracle 11 g 2 client on a system of windows 7 Professional (x 32) with 4 GB of ram and a lot of disk space.  (The user is a member of the local Administrators security group)

  I double click on the installer and a window opens saying: I spent the control of depth of color and that its creation of files in the path\Temp\OraInstallDateTime

  A few seconds and then a pop up with the message of java.

  The log file in the directory mentioned in the reports of the file extension Setup window, there is no other entries.

  Can someone point me to a solution?

• VMware vCenter Update Manager Client installation fails

  I have a system that has been upgraded to ESX 3.5 to vSphere and installed successfully the vSphere Client, can see my hosts and virtual machines without any problem.  I install the plugin VM converter, but when I try to install the plugin Update Manager it fails every time.

  I'm installing on a 64-bit Windows 7 computer (my laptop is also Win7 64 bit and it installed successfully there).  I tried to install the application and get the error message in the Windows application logs:

  Product: VMware vCenter Update Manager Client - Setup cannot continue. VMware vSphere Client is not found to be installed on this computer. VMware vCenter Update Manager Client can be installed only on machines where VMware vSphere Client is present.

  I've already entered my store of % TEMP % and tried to install just the exe file (VMware - UMClient.exe) and who is not, I copied the extracted files, including all the files .ini, .bmp, .msi and .mst to the root of my C drive and tried installing from there.  All this provided the same failure.

  During the installation, I get this message first indicating the location of my vSphere Client installation:

  

  When I click on the only 'real' installation option, then spend a few seconds and then I get this message:

  Click ok and then get a message saying that the installation has failed.

  I managed to do install finally.

  The strange solution was that I had to log on as an administrator of my machine and then install the plugin.  Even if my account is an administrator account.

  Anyway, problem solved, works perfectly and am clean now.

  It must be always sure download the drivers directly from the web site of the original manufacturer.  A Samsung E352 can really be a model NP-E352 and usually sold in Europe.  I found this:
