Oracle Application Express relaxing select the database table?

Hi all

I use Oracle Application Express. I created a page and I want to fill the 2 (txtname, txtaddress1) on my page when the user provides no Id on another field (txtID).

Can someone help me please how to do this?

Thank you very much
Gunajee.

Hello

There are 3 ways to meet your needs

1 goto your article > Source > Source: always... > Type of Source: SQL returns a single value > Source value or expression: select column_value from table_name where pk =: pk_item

2 create a calculation
The rendering of Page Goto > calculation.

Create calculations > on this Page >. . follow the instructions in the wizard and set required values.

3. create a dynamic action (a better and simpler)
The rendering of Page Goto > Dynamic Actions.

create dynamic Actions > on item1 > when changed > value > sql statement > write the sql query > done point > required element (item2)

fire on loading the page: uncheck

Note: For 1 and 2, you need to send the page.

You can use {'code'} {'code'} to keep your code. (remove the apostrophes and use)

Kind regards
Little Foot

    Given Oracle Spatial are stored in the database tables?

    Oracle spatial is DBMS oracle server functionality. It allows you in NATIVE mode, store and manage all standard types of spatial data and their attributes and metadata in the oracle database enterprise, in the way that you are quite familiar with. on top of standard oracle database features, adds types of geographic data, spatial index, geometric operators and queries, functions, spatial and analytical, to name a few.

    MapViewer is a feature of Oracle Fusion Middleware, which makes cards using spatial data managed by Oracle Spatial. That's what you called "generator of maps. but of course, it's not just a map generator, he has much more to offer, such as MapBuilder, WMS, Oracle cards.

    Databases are not "created on Oracle Application Express". Request Express is a component of a pre-existing database.

    What do you mean by 'Oracle Application Express (free version)'? If it comes to a workspace on the hosted apex.oracle.com, then it is possible to connect using the APEX in a web browser. If you mean a local installation of Oracle Express Edition, then Yes, a Java application can connect to it, but the issue is off-topic for this forum and should ask in the forum Database Oracle Express Edition (XE) .

  • connection to the oracle application express using java and jdbc

    Hello!

    I am trying to build a java application using jbcd to connect to my Oracle Application Express DB but unable to connect actually using the following syntax:

    Private final static String DB = "myworkspacename";

    Private final static String RUTA public = "@apex.oracle.com:1521";

    private public static final String URL = "jdbc: Slim:" + RUTA + "/" + DB;

    private static final String DRIVER = "oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver";

    a USER private final static string = " " [email protected] "; "

    private final static String PASS = "MonMotpasse";

    and then I start the connection via:

    CONEX = DriverManager.getConnection(URL,USER,PASS);

    but finally I get the following error:

    IO error: the network adapter could not establish the connection

    any ideas on what goes wrong will be appreciated...

    Simple answer... YOU can't connect externally to the hosted instance of Oracle with a jdbc connection or sql developer/Toad.  Not allowed...

    If you need this capability, I would suggest downloading of Oracle 11 g XE and building you own database...

  • Oracle Application Express

    Hello

    I'm new around. Tell me, the documentation says: "Oracle Application Express is a declarative development hosted environment to develop and deploy _Web_ database-oriented applications. Can be used to develop applications for use outside of the Web as well. I do the accounting and payroll. I will for example be able to develop applications where I'll run the payroll and print care about payroll, financial statements, etc..

    When I go to the form, I usually get to Oracle Database Express and so I have to work my way to Oracle Application Express. How can I go directly to Oracle Application Express?

    Bennet

    Hello, Bennet,.

    There is the OTN homepage for APEX: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex
    There are the home page general for APEX, which includes access to workspaces of demo (you can request a workspace to assess the APEX without having to install yourself): http://apex.oracle.com

    To answer your question: you can develop applications with APEX that could be used to pay-running, etc. Depending on the capabilities of your printer, you can even automate this. But begin to get acquainted with APEX before you head straight for advanced like this subjects. ;)

  • LabVIEW 2013 close when I try to read the database table.

    LabVIEW 2013 close when I try to read the database table.
    I get the error message, Labview falls just crashes. I use Labview x 32 and connective Toolkit of connectivity of database on Windows 7 x 64. I connect to PostgreSQL with ODBC driver, the connection is stable.
    In my database, I have a lot of tables, I read all those without one.
    When I try to read table bad I get data then labview crash. When I restart Labview, I have no message on the error.
    Also I try to use LabSQL-1. 1a. But it has the same result.

    I found the solution.

    I think the problem was that I have very large table in my database.

    At the beginning I received data from table with next quiry:

    SELECT column1, column2 FROM 'table ';

    But when I write then:

    SELECT column1, (column2, ',') array_to_string FROM 'table ';

    all worked!

  • Values entered into a textarea unwritten in the database table

    I have a very strange situation.  I have a form that has a certain number of fields, all fields of text standard apex.

    I have a button that calls a dynamic action that writes the values of these fields in their columns in the table.  No problem with this.

    I just added a textarea field defined with a maximum length of 300 characters, which maps to a new column in the database table that is defined as VARCHAR2 (300).

    I modified the PL/SQL to include the value of this new field in the database table writing.  When I run the dynamic action, everything else in the form is updated, but the text in the text not added to the table box.

    In session data, the data on the page are correct. The Session State of the textarea field is also correct.

    This isn't just a text box, it's ANY textarea I put on this page.  If I take a text field and transformed into a textarea field, the same thing happens.  If I take the new textarea field and transformed into a text field, the data gets written to the database table.

    Can someone explain this?  I can get by with only text fields, but it would be much better if I could have a field where mentions that he could properly wrap to the next line.

    Thank you!

    John

    John,

    edit your Textarea field and change in the Source Section as

    Source: always, replacing any value existing in State of Session

    Source type: column database

    and in

    Source value or Express: (write the name of the column in the data to be store)

    do not change this things your textarea data records in the database Table...

  • Oracle Application Express Exchange

    Why can't APEX group configure Oracle Application Express similar to Oracle SQL Developer Exchange Exchange (https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=43135:1:1300981779514901::NO) for requests for features, code examples etc.) Oracle SQL Developer Exchange use APEX for their site, why don't the APEX people do as well. The current wish list thread is too heavy to follow and look for potential requests.
