  It is not possible to obtain the BRM already installed on a Virtual Machine. You must create a virtual machine, have an operating system on it, and then install BRM.

• Databases supported in Orchestrator 4.01

  I see that databases supported in the installation guide Orchestrator 4.01 has been considerably reduced since the databases supported in the Orchestrator 4.0 installation guide.  This was in error, or is this the case?

  We want to apply multi-Language support in our application. These applications will save scripts in different languages in our database.

  The required languages are Indonesian, Malay, Hindi, Burmese, Chinese, Tamil, thai, Vietnamese, Cambodian and Filipino.

• What editions of Oracle 11 g R2 database support Fusion Middleware?

  I would like to create a database instance (s) and install a development environment (which will include reports like APEX and JDeveloper 11 g and Oracle 11 g), on my laptop. The laptop has a processor I5-2520. The establishment is for learning purposes, and I'm not afraid to have bought a license, if it is necessary. My laptop can be installed with an appropriate operating system, if one is suggested. There are currently, Windows 7 Professional 64.
  
  My questions are:
  
  (1) can be set on my laptop a development environment?
  (2) what editions of Oracle 11 g R2 (SE1, SE, EE, EP, XE) database to support Fusion Middleware for the development tools listed above?
  (3) does anyone know of a document detailing the steps of the installation of the DB to the installation of the tools of development as well as the configuration steps?

• Oracle ASM, SAN and VMware

  Hello

  I have a question about using Oracle ASM. If I only have a single physical disk of SAN (2 disks mirrored) IO isolated for an Oracle VM is there anywhere in the ASM application in file system VMs by creating several virtual disks to support ASM so everything is still really only to access physical disks? It's the first time that I have to do an Oracle VM install and I want to ensure that the directors have the info just to set up the DB.

  I see it's #14 tip in the doc of advice Essentiual deployment using Oracle ASM, but it says nothing about the assumptions... for example: is there more than one physical disk? I think the DBA doesn't want to bother with ASM as there is only a single physical disk under this virtual machine, but we are in a virtual world now and I think that the same would be true for a physical server are necessarily the case for a virtual.

  You only have a drive and a 100 MB database?   In this case, ASM is probably an extra layer of complexity which is not necessary.

  ASM is much more suited for the dissemination of data piles of many, and in cases where the management of database space is a consideration.

• Connection to Oracle on SunSolaris on VMWare

  Hi guys,.
  
  I got a Sun Solaris VMWare image that must be running Oracle (I don't have a login name). When I use my Windows client to check the netstat I receive the port 1522 (the listener, so I've heard) as State TIME_WAIT or FIN_WAIT_2 during my attempt to telnet to the computer.
  
  No success with sqlplus or sqldeveloper. What is the next step to try to connect to the Oracle instance (assuming that it runs)?

  I doubt that this has nothing to do at all with oracle. Looks like its WAAAYYYY too early in the boot process for oracle to participate. Before beginning the search at oracle, you must make sure that you can even start the server, log in as root and log on to it as the owner of the installation of oracle (should be 'oracle'). Until you get there, you need expertise Solaris, Oracle not.

  What databases are supported by JDeveloper 11 g? These are databases that are explicitly mentioned in this survey?
  
  I want to learn ADF/Swing with a light base (Derby/JavaDB would be my preference). Unfortunately, I'm stuck to get the "New Business components of tables" option to work. On the first page of the Wizard (entity objects), I press "Query" and see my list of tables, but the arrows (to move a table available for selection) do not work. Nothing happens when I click on them, and no error is printed in the message log area.
  
  Would it be because of Derby (I use the later official release 10.4). Will I have better luck with MySQL or PostgreSQL? Or JDeveloper is only meant to work with Oracle?
