Oracle Discoverer Desktop truncate lines at least 10,000

Hi all

I want to export Excel file from Oracle Discoverer Desktop. If the file contains more than 10,000 lines, it truncates the result and shows that the lines first 10,000.

How can I solve this problem? I changed this limit in Oracle Discoverer Viewer, but I don't know where I can do this in office.

Best regards
Mariano. -.

In the office, go to the Tools menu and select Options...

The second tab is for the Governor of the query, and you can uncheck (or change) the "recovered data limited to: ' point. This works in Desktop 10.1.2.48.18.

    Hello

    What version and patches of Discoverer group do you use? This looks like a bug in your version.

    In addition, make sure the option 'Show the warning when you open the workbook saved in a database account' different is checked in tools-> General Options tab discoverer.

  • Oracle Discoverer 4i (Portal db - oracle 8i) connectivity with database 11g problem

    Hi all

    We have oracle discoverer 4i with Portal db (oracle 8i).

    Connect to external databases by using links in the portal db db and reports will use the link db to retrieve data from views in external databases.

    External databases, we have been connecting is oracle 10g version and now we have improved these databases to version 11g.

    Now I have a created a new database link to this 11g database and I have created a new EUL in the portal to connect to this database 11g.

    But when I try to create a report using the discoverer of this new EUL after login for the discoverer we get an "Unable to connect to the database" error.

    We all have the privilege of necesscary to the user and the new database link works perfectly well. (when we try to query directly using SQL as database portal using this db link the query works perfectly).

    I'm not sure if it is a compatibility issue in accessing an 11g database since oracle disk 4i.

    Can any advise if this is the case and if there is no work around for this?

    Kind regards

    REDA

    You say that you are having problems with a link of database from 8i to 11 g (pl exact position of 4-digit versions)? If so, expect as database of links between these two versions are not supported. Is there a reason you can't pass the portal of databases of at least 10 g 2?

    Hello

    The minimum you need to run the discoverer is BI tools of discoverer (Admin and office) for windows available from here and the database is available from here.

    Alternatively, you can install the tools on the web, more and Viewer where you download Business Intelligence from here

    There are several different versions of discoverer and tools available.

  • Newbie: Discoverer Desktop - is there a way to create complex conditions

    Hello

    Using Discoverer Desktop, is it possible to do the following:

    A = 1 or (A = 2 and B = 4)

    Pls advise, thx, Sandra

    Hi Sandra,.

    Try this:

    Create new condition. Create A = 1, then click on "GOLD". In the 2nd line that has been generated all the A = 2. Click 'Add' or 'GOLD' to add another condition '' OR ''. Set B = 4.

    You should now have a condition 'OR' with 3 rows. Hold the Ctrl key and click on the A = 2 and B = 4 rows (generally you must click on the left side of the bit corresponding to the A or B).

    You release Ctrl and click on "AND". This should be the condition that you are after.

    You can also click on the "GOLD" in the condition box (grey bar on the left of it) and then click on the button "AND". This will generate a condition 'AND' level higher, like this:

    B = 2 and (A = 1 or (A = 2 and B = 4))

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards
    Lloyd

  • How to retrieve the image BLOB from database and display the image in rtf file using the Oracle XML Desktop 5.6.2 publication server?

    Hi all

    Here I have the image BLOB in the database files,

    I want to show the image to PDF using file to rtf using Oracle Xml Desktop Publisher,

    Hi all

    I found the solution for reading Image BLOB of data base & display in Pdf format.

    (1) read the image from DB.2) and then copy the picture using IO. UtilsCopy method to copy the picture

    (3) then encode with base64 converter then you will get the tag XML with Base64 as string then placed in your XML Code & preview the output, you will find the image

    Photo = (BlobDomain) currentRow.getAttribute ("Image");

    ByteArrayOutputStream OutputStream = new ByteArrayOutputStream();

                        Byte [] imageByte;
                          Byte [] b = null;
                        try {}

                            IOUtils.copy (photo.getInputStream (), outputStream);
                            BS = outputStream.toByteArray ();
                            outputStream.flush ();
                            System.out.println("==="+BS.) Length);
                            Encoded byte [] is Base64.encodeBase64 (bs).;
                            encodedString = new String (encoded);
  • Oracle Discoverer 11 g really require a license?

    Hello! We are the research using Oracle Discoverer 11 g as a tool of downloading data from our ERP (R12).

    I have a few questions about this:

    1. Do we need to purchase a license or can we just download the installer from the Oracle Downloads Page?
    2. What is the difference between the licensed version and the free download version? did in taking in charge?
    3. I downloaded the free version of the Oracle downloads page and tried to configure a EUL for our Test Instance, but its taking too much time to create the metadata from APPS. What should I do?

    This is my first time to use discoverer.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

    If you use Discoverer to evaluation purposes only so you don't need a license. If you intend to use it to support your activities, you are proposing, then you have a license.

    As for whether there are differences between the licensed version and download version there are no difference. Download the software and install it are exactly the same. It is recommended to install the latest patches, however.

    Regarding the installation against the Apps, it should be transparent. On the downloads page of my site Armstrong - Smith Consulting - downloads is a white paper that explains how to set up a lifestyle Apps EUL. This is a free book and I know that it has been used several times.

    Best wishes

  • What is the "Oracle UCM Desktop Integration Suite Helper" module in IE for?

    I installed TELL 11.1.6.111 recently and happened to notice that in my Internet Explorer, there is as an add-on called Oracle UCM Desktop Integration Suite of assistancenow.
    What is it exactly?

    I'm being too confident perhaps, but if this add-on can interact with SAY installed locally, we can have a chance to open the folder SAY from the web interface (if any)!

    Hi David,

    The plug-in is the same as the object browser helper from O-Drive (legacy CMS). It is only used by SAY with servers of the CBD (content DB) in order to avoid guests to logon when you call the context menus of the advanced properties and sharing on a record or file in a server BDC connection in Windows Explorer integration.

    From the point of view of WCC it is not used.

  • Oracle Discoverer of desupporting?, can I use the reports of 10g in R12

    Hi all
    I've heard so many times that Oracle will stop in favour of Oracle Discoverer reports.
    But at the same time, I can see the available literature on Support.oracle.com to configure the report of Discoverer for R12.
    Report of discoverer and discoverer BI are two different products which integrates differently with Oracle.
    Maybe my questions is very naïve, but want to have a correct answer.

    Report generation of discoverer using Discoverer 10g working for 11i will work for R12 as well?

  • Oracle Discoverer workbooks in OBIEE 11 g migration

    Hello
    Can you tell me how we can migrate workbooks Oracle Discoverer in OBIEE 11 g, I heard that there is a tool that escapes in last summer for this migration, can someone give me details on this one.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello
    I fear that Oracle failed to conversion of the discoverer in OBIEE workbooks. It is still on the radar, but they have nothing.

    For some of my clients, it's a huge setback. I have a client who has more than 32,000 discoverer workbooks and adding more at a rate of about 5 000 per year. Obviously, a customer of this size is a potential customer for OBIEE. The only thing they can do now is to rewrite all the reports.

    To this would be a huge task and I did some math for them. Let's say you can rewrite a report every 15 minutes, to test and parallel runs. So you can convert 4 in an hour or a full day 32. 32 32 000 Diviiding means that they would need to allocate 1,000 days-men for the task. Knowing that, on average, a person works about 220 days a year and you are looking at about 5 years of human, not including potentially 1000's of new discoverer workbooks that were created at this time. Needless to say that my client is not happy with Oracle and refuse to engage in this way stick with the discoverer.

    I know for a fact, this company is not alone and I personally urge Oracle to allocate resources to correctly convert the discoverer workbooks. I know part of the problem is that there are things that discoverer takes his cruising speed OBIEE cannot do or has great difficulty with. I don't see how you can convert up to OBIEE customers can do everything that Finder can do.

    Thoughts anyone?

  • Help with Discoverer Desktop, how to choose duplicate records

    I use Discoverer 11g Desktop and am well want to ask for help.

    I've created a report in the office, but I need the report to display only the records of people with more than 1 invoice for rental in the year.
    Years old as a parameter. One of the columns of the report is person-id and there is a column called transaction_type that is filled with different types of transactions
    the value of the transaction_type that I use for the report is "RENT_INVOICE", so I want that report to choose only
    people infected with more than 1 'RENT_INVOICE' transaction_type records, leaving out records with only 1 'RENT_INVOICE '.
    How can I do this in Discoverer Desktop or more? Help, please.

    Hello
    Well after having created the condition for the kind that you mentioned.
    You must create a new calculation using the analytic function

    It should be:
    Count (transaction_type) more (personid partition)

    This will give you the result to the num of records, now just add a new condition during this new element
