  Because of too many nodes, we have in our company communicate each other (using the old files tnsnames.ora), we are now in the time to find a central location to store our net service names.
  I know that we can use for this OID to store the names of Service Net, but my question is it possible to use Microsoft AD, because our infrastructure using Microsoft AD as a central point.
  I have read the documentation oracle Oracle® Database Platform Guide (Chapter 12 Using Oracle Database with Microsoft Active Directory), but the problem is what happens if my database is not on the Windows operating system (such as Unix/Linux, we have number of it).
  I also read the document Oracle® Database Net Services Administrator's Guide (Chapter 3 Configuration Management Concepts) where you will find statement on the end of the chapter:
  Oracle supports Microsoft Active Directory only on Windows operating systems. Therefore, the client computers and the database server must also run on the Windows operating systems to access or create entries in Microsoft Active Directory.
  
  From this text, it looks like that my only option in this different environment with multiple operating systems is the OID (I wish it isn't true).

  Sorry for the late reply. Since once it has clearly mentioned in the white paper that IO is a must; If you want to use MS AD, because 'oracle white paper' means 'documentation' refined and very authenticated.

  If you do not have OIDS that can be synchronized with the AD, but want to integrate with AD, then the way to go is OVD.

• Is there a way to give a user access to the users and computers active directory, without being an administrator

  I want to be able to allow user group to be able to reset passwords and create accounts in an organizational unit.  I delegate control of the organizational unit for the group, but if I connect to the domain controller and try opening users and computers active directory, we wonder an administrator password.  I have a mix of two domain controllers Server 2003 and a Server 2008 DC.  Is there a way to give a group access to the users and computers active directory without being administrator?

  Hello

  I installed Microsoft Active Directory on iDRAC 7 with some very basic options (no certificate, no Single Sign-On, not Kerberos Keytab, the Standard schema). Everything works fine.

  The problem is that we have 2 forests with full trust configured between them and iDRAC is not able to authenticate the users of both of them.

  Basically, we have the single domain on 1 security group and pair the users of these two forests (1 and foret2). If I add domain (DC) IPs for two areas-forest controllers, authentication fails on the first domain controller, if the user is a different domain (check does not reach the second DC IP to verify the user). The error I get:

  ERROR: failed to bind: Invalid credentials, 80090308: LdapErr: IDDM-0C0903A9, comment: AcceptSecurityContext error, 52nd data, v1db0: [email protected] host = 192.168.0.1.

  192.168.0.1 - foret2 DC IP

  Does IDARC support AD authentication for users of forest separated couple?

  iDRAC do not support authentication Active Directory for the domain of the unique forest.

  Short answer: Yes.

  Longer answer: Yes you can. Operating system has no influence on that. All you need is the ability to connect to LDAP, and it's pure networking.

• Cannot access creative cloud bookstores after switching to Microsoft Active Directory

  Recently IT Department flies over the entire company to Microsoft Active Directory computers. After the computers in the design team were made too, we could no longer access the library of creative cloud or download anything creative market.

  The Panel for the library displays a cloud with a x and this message: ' something went wrong initialization of the cloud creative libraries ' with a link to "More information" leading to this error page - Adobe - error page

  Very annoying. I really need access to libraries for my work.

  If anyone else has experienced this problem and has a solution for this? Is this a known issue? I searched and have not been able to find something that helped.

• Oracle Forms and APEX

  Hello all-
  I have a project management application that has been developed in Oracle Forms v10.1.2.0.2 and application of asset management developed on-demand Express 3.1 - both in the same database. There are new requirements to include certain active data in the implementation of projects for the year. There are forms of APEX in the application of assets they want to include in the project request forms. Is there a way to "embed" an APEX shape breast and Oracle? I know that I can use web.show_document () in the forms, but which will open another browser window and it is not acceptable for users. I also know that I can recreate the asset shape in Oracle Forms and who will be part of the project application. But it means that I have 2 forms of assets to keep in case there are changes. I would really like Oracle Forms 'use' my APEX form. Is this possible?

  I am troubleshooting a client in so he could integrate its Oracle Forms Applications withActive existing directory for authentication purposes.
  
  There are a lot of possibilities to achieve this, but the theory and practice are two different things.
  
  So I'd appreciate your comments on the following options, and perhaps some new ones I did not:
  -using the OSSO: that obviously easier. OSSO may nativey serve by Oracle Forms, which in turn uses OID, which in turn in sync with AD with the help of DIP. Quite a big configuration...
  -using the OAM: OAM integrates with OSSO, who can be used natively by Oracle Forms, which in turn... same story as above, only that OAM allows you to control access to all Web applications in my client's infrastructure.
  -from the Ondaaah: I think that Ondaaah is based on OSSO. If this is the case, should I still all resynchronize with AD and OID? Someone played with it already?
  
  If someone did an other thin and easy manner, I would be acknowledging its contribution too.

  seems more complicated than it really is. You can generate the script users OID & RADs if you are familiar with ldap & Setup for the DIP uses an Oracle script. Yes, used - this successfully several times.

  However, if you can avoid the forms, you need not to go this route. If these are new applications, you can use ApEx. If there are forms & are simple relatilvly, you can use the ApEx 3.2 conversion tool forms & a bit of work to migrate.

  A few tips
  AD & OID have some duplicate, accounts to avoid problems:
  In ad: put all users to remove in an OU 'Parent '.
  OR = MyOUName, DC = mydomain.com
  Target this ORGANIZATIONAL unit when you go through the configuration of the synchronization of OID. Do not put AD users in this unit of ORGANIZATION (or child OU) If you want them to Sync in OID. Administrative users AD should not be synchronized in OID.
  Patch your OID to 10 gr 2 game patches 2 or 3 before setting up the synchronization. The standard installation of 10.1.2.0.2's had problems syncing DIP.

  1. you didn't did not read carefully my last update.  I said that you need to install JDK 8 (more precisely 8U51 or newer).  Which suggests that you installed and that he tried to use Java 7 with that statement that you answered:

  • On what platform and the version you install?
  • Have you reviewed the matrix of product Certification to ensure that this platform is certified for use?
  • Is your Windows user, a member of the Windows Administrators group?
  • The machine has at least 6 GB of RAM?
  • Is the installer staged locally or are access you it from a network share?
  • Did you review the Setup logs?  If this is not the case, do, as they will probably tell you what is happening.  They are located in:

    C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs

  I highly recommend that go you through the documentation (Setup Guide, Sys requirements, etc.) before you install or use the product:
