Order of the layers in the layers panel

Hello

I'm a bit confused by something on the layers panel in artificial intelligence. On page 174 of 'bright' Illustrator CS4 by Steve Johnson, he says that "layers in the layers panel appear high in the bottom as they appear in the document window. The first layer at the top of the layers panel is the top layer of the document window. The last layer in the layers panel is the bottom layer in the document window.

This seems clear enough.

However, when I created 3 forms on board graphics and created 2 new layers and put each shape on it's own layer, I find that the top layer in the layers panel is layer 3 ls and is actually the bottom layer of the document window, and the bottom layer in the layers panel is layer 1 which is the top layer of the document window. This seems to be the reverse order to that described in the book. Or am I wrong interpret the layers?

Does anyone have ideas on this?

Hello

The concept of base layer is stacked on each other. First created means layer (1) with a single object will be entirely down and last layer created will be the top of the other.

As stacking books, first book will be completely down and the last book will be high.

  • Keyboard shortcut to change the stacking order in the appearance Panel?

I created a bunch of symbols I want to fill it with different colors and patterns. If I select the symbol and add a fill, the fill appears above the content of the symbol in the appearance Panel. I'd like some kind of keyboard shortcut to add the fill to the bottom of the stack of the appearance attribute or just move the contents of the symbol of a level. Any help?

    Thank you

    Tom

You can set custom graphic styles that contain the desired appearance stacking order.

In addition, you can create to-DOS to apply custom graphics styles. You may reproduce actions with custom action keyboard shortcuts.

Just select your top-level page icon and drag it to the desired location.

  • You drag an image in the layers panel

    Hello

In some Photoshop tutorials I've met, the author speaks of "drag an image in the layers panel. For example, there is a picture, let's call him background.jpg on layer1 and which appears in the layers panel. Now you want to open another image, call object1.jpg in order to work on this point, the objective being that object1.jpg should go on layer2, above layer1 in the layers panel.

Yet when I open object1.jpg, in the layer1 layers panel (which hosts background.jpg) disappeared.

How can I drag object1.jpg to layer2? In other words, how can I keep my layers panel open - the layers panel that shows layer1 with clutter on it - while working on object1.jpg?

    Thank you

    Steve

Oh, it's CS3 and they do not have legs.  Open the two files and arrange the windows so that you can see each of the files.  Then just drag one layer to the other file.

  • Is it possible to copy all the layers in the layers panel and paste them in a new document?

The content of each layer will be different on each document so I don't want to copy. I have 12 documents to be used in a calendar and I want all the layers as well as their names and colors to be the same in each document. I already have all the pages designed and built, but personal information is to be added, and I want each of them to match all the others.

Basically, all I want to do is to copy the contents of the layers panel and past in each of the other documents.

I just create a page at the end of the document w / layers and on this page, add an item by layer. Also, if you have 15 layers, drag the small fifteen frames on the page and the layer icon to assign each image to another layer.

Then in the Pages panel menu, choose move Pages. Choose this 'page of layers' to move to your receiving document (another of your calendar documents), Destination: end of the Document.

The receiving document will get all the layers. Remove all items (15 views) on the extra page and the layers remain.

Next time you make a schedule, you should check the add-on for InDesign Calendar Wizard. You will cry all the time you wasted it making manually ;-(

  • Fusion of two elements 3D different steps in the same layers panel.

    Hi there everyone,

I'm working on a logo in which I made two different 3d elements, I need to get in the same layers panel to merge. How can I get the items in the same pane? I tried to drag-and - drop, and this does not work, what I'm missing here?

    Thank you

    Rchjr

The three most important pallets using 3d in Photoshop are the layers palette, the Palette of 3d and the Properties palette. Here, I made two mergers 3d.  I merged a sphere, cylinder and a ring.

  • Found and lost in the layers of the CC PS 2015 can be selected in the document, not only in the layers panel?

Seriously, I don't know if it's a FigNewton of my imagination or a real change in the Photoshop workspace, but when I started using PS CC 2015, a few months ago, I found myself moving layers on the screen simply by clicking on it in the document and moving them, instead going to the layers panel , by choosing the correct layer, then return to the document and move the layer or change. Is this a real change or I dream? Especially, if it's an option, I can't do more. He stopped. How do I resurrect it?

Automatic selection / auto-move has been there for several versions. Check your settings of the tool at the top when you use the move tool.

  • The order of the layers leads to a mismatch in its use

I like the idea of master pages. But in many cases (an I'll give you a concrete example right now), it leads to the mismatch between

the order of the layers from a logical point of view: some parts must overlap part and must never cross.

First, I have this order (logical):

    Bildschirmfoto 2016-03-13 um 14.28.48.png

The 'Komposition' is under the header section "Organization Header", stacked in "organization Inhalt '.

As you may realize, the image is little gray and so are control points. What causes that, once downloaded

    I can't control the points.

I have come to this and then change the order of layers:

    Bildschirmfoto 2016-03-13 um 14.28.17.png

Now you see 'Komposition' inside the 'header section of the organization ', always under the "Statusschaltflaeche".

(these are my menu items, you will soon see).

But - this leads to a seemingly fatal error on the downloaded Web site:

    Bildschirmfoto 2016-03-13 um 14.22.42.png

It seems OK, as long as the content is under the menu but overlaps, roll up/down:

    Bildschirmfoto 2016-03-13 um 14.22.34.png

I have these questions always and only when I work with Master Pages and layouts of a.

In addition and it is perhaps even worse, my client has no chance to change anything, because if I can't click a button.

Why 'inbrowserediting.com' should be a way to make clickable in order to change something?

    Any idea?

    Thanks in advance

    Uwe

I finally got my problem solved.

I have my master ordered, pages so that everything in the header on each page is in the same folder of layer named "HEADER".

And this belongs to the content as well. So each content (in my case, it's just background) is located in the CONTENT folder

On the pages live with change of content, I have also all content in the CONTENT folder.

    So thanks anyway

I used to be able to see the selection tool and layer I was working in InDesign, and now he's disappeared. When I try to move an object to another layer, I can't go in the layers panel and use the selection box to drag because he went to a new layer. Is there a setting to turn this back on?

  • How to copy the name of the track in the layers panel to the center of the path object / in my file HAVE?  Is there a native function or some kinds of scripts that could be done?

For example, I have a map of the United States.  Each State is a path and was named in the layers panel.  I want now to generate the name of the State in the layers panel is automatically center the text within each State/access path.  Each file will also be saved as an svg once completed.  I want to do this so that it saves me time from having to manually type the name of each State in the State.

There is text on my photo, but there is no text layer in the layers panel. What is everything?

The layers panel will contain the text only if you have saved the original under a PSD file.

If it was saved as a jpeg, png, it not the layers.

  • In my layers panel, when I try to play 'the eye' action is red, and the action will not do what it is supposed to

I am trying to edit a few photos of baby and use some actions that I bought. When I load the action, thing 'eye' in the layers panel, is red and actin will do nothing.

    I'm doing something wrong?

The layer is marked in red means in fact an error. You can associate a color with one of your layers. Try double clicking on a background layer in the dialog box to choose color and he associate you any color you want at this layer. With a background layer no right-click and select the color in the list.

I see it on the photo that you have pointed out that the mask on an adjustment layer is selected, perhaps try to select a layer from the actual image and run your action from there.

  • Photoshop 2015: BUG? Layers panel auto-fait scroll to top when you select the text element with the text, creation/copy of layer tool and other actions

This is a bug or a really bad and frustrating idea for a story.

    (1) in the layers panel, select a text layer, it highlights

    2) change to the text tool

    3) click on the text element in the workspace

    OR

    (1) select a layer in the layers panel

    (2) Ctrl-J, new layer by copying

EXPECTED: Panel layers rest in the same position

REAL: Panel layers scrolls the element selected or new layer to the top of the Panel. BORING.

I do not need or want Photoshop to make decisions for me, space to work around to move without asking, or generally to spoil my flow!

Please fix this or give me an option to turn it off as soon as POSSIBLE.
