  What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you ALREADY had on this
  machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

  Part of the problem is probably SpyBot which can greatly affect the peformance IE and Vista/Windows 7.

  Start - type in the search box-> find Services at top - click right on - RUN AS ADMIN

  Double-click Service SBSD and change it to MANUAL and STOP

  Then run SpyBot and in settings uncheck TeaTimer - close and restart.

  Now you can run SpyBot as a scanner at the request.

  Then, run checkdisk - schedule it to run at next boot, then apply OK your way out, then restart.

  I use Lightroom 5.7.1 on a 'Late 2012 iMac' with Yosemite OS X.

  I installed Yosemite first and then Lightroom 5.

  After that I encountered the first problem (no preview images shown the import module when you try to import new images, the central part of the screen remains black, now shaded not extracted, nothing, no possible to import at all), I tried all possible changes to checkboxes and preference settings.

  After reading dozens of Internet Forum articles on very similar problems seem to many other users, I even deleted all preference setting files in the OS X Finder (a recommendation that has been said to succeed), however, the problem remains.

  Also, I completely deleted the software entirely from my iMac (including all the system and setting files), downloaded the latest version (5.7.1) Adobe, rebooted the system, installed new Lightroom, even restarted again, WITHOUT SUCCESS.

  What could I do? As I can't work at all with Lightroom, I would be very happy to get any help on this issue.

  Thanks for the file INF. I ck'ed for driver updates and I have the latest drivers installed.  I got the sound working on the TV by hanging the audio output of the PC to the entrance of the TV with the HDMI cable in place for video. It's the simplest solution to this problem, so I took it.

  This means that you don't have WRITE permission in the destination folder.

  You should:

  1. In Lightroom, determine the exact destination folder (it is on the right side of the import dialog box under Destination)

  So, I am very frustrated.  I have used this program for onver per year.  I recently started experiencing this problem.  When I import photos to a folder, the Organizer shows 'generate thumbnails' then freezes.  I can't use the organizer at all.  I have to use my task manager to close the program.  I thought I had solved the problem that I uninstalled the guide then reinstalled.  It worked well for a week or two, but then I had to import photos mor to work with and once more I'm back to zero.  I use Windows XP and have 1.0 GB of ram... and 1.81 ghz... my laptop has less GHz and works very well with PSE, so I do not understand?  It's the same syatem I use all; the long and now I have a problem.  Can someone please help?
