Original restore CD

Hello

The company that I work for gave me a laptop Satellite A30. Now my system broke down and I need to restore. However, I wasn't able to find a recovery to original Windows XP Home edition CD.

Please, tell me, is this kind of restore CD provided with this laptop or not? I don't know because I'm not the first user of this computer. It could be that the previous user has lost a recovery CD. All I have now is a CD "tools and utilities.

If the restore CD is provided and I managed to get from the previous user, what are the instructions to restore the system to the original factory condition?

Thank you for any info.

Hi Brian,.

Recovery CD is provided with all laptops. If you want to have an initial state of the plant the fastest and is way to use the original recovery CD. Each laptop model has specific recovery CD and you can use it just for the laptop.

In your case, there are two possible solutions. The first is to contact the after-sales Service of Toshiba partner. You must go there and sign a solemn statement and then you will get a new recovery CD.

In other cases, you can install OS of Microsoft Windows XP Home CD edition and then you need to install all the necessary drivers only using Tools & Utilities CD.

Good bye

  • Could not restore Windows 7 for replacement drive

HP Pavilion 6267c running Windows 7 64 bit would not start.  Diagnostic said failed to find the startup disk.  Replace 750 GB drive with Seagate Barracuda 1 TB drive.  A ran disk original restoration and after initial installation, but I have the following message:

Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on a hardware on this computer.

Retries of installation with the same results.

    any help is appreciated.

    Hello

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the activation code on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

Assuming that it's just a problem with the recovery process, it is a job before right around if you have (or can borrow) an installation disc Windows 7 at retail which is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - IE your PC came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, it comes to version exact commercial that you would need.

If you don't have access to a retail disk, you can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA to demand and when the installation is complete use the 'method of phone", described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want just a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load delivered normally with OEM installations.

Additional drivers, you may need can be found here.

  • Restoration of W3 problem

Recently I want to redo my w3 when I got it while I was using the dvd provided with the system.  I could run the process and have it installed everything but when he starts first, and displays a screen of windows at the top saying it implants acer verification userAlaunch a message appears and says C:\Windows\system32\OEM\alaunchx\alaunchX.exe A reference was returned by the server and don't continue install. What can I do?

Today happened 4 discs: SCD Bootable, RCD 1, RCD 2 DAY (German language pack).

Booted SCD - seemed known Acer Recovery Management v 9.1.8

After a few seconds asked 1 RCD and copy the images. STORMWATER MANAGEMENT. She takes a few long minutes.

The progress of the copy then shows 72%, he asks 2 RCD and continues to copy images.

-The difference to the original recovery DVD - the copy images copy does not stop at 86% as before but continues until 100% - I think it is a good sign for a result of different restoration. ----

After about 20 min, I inserted disk system again, then the language pack in no time.

Then follows the operation called update system - requires about half an hour.

Now, after an hour of installation, system and language pack the system rebooted and installs the software. It did not go with a DVD of original restoration.

Strange, the software installation breaks in a 5/64 point and restarts. OK, after that reboot continues to point 6/64. Curious... Follows SW installation with several reboots of Tablet. It is endless...

You definitely need recovery W3, is much of patience. Since the beginning of the recovery is already 2.5 hours and still not finished.

Is the last step of the installation: installation of Sysprep - Factory Mode. It takes about 30 min. installation restart, account and PC, settings, and applications. I want to record factory in Acer Recovery Management settings - it doesn't "disk configuration hard don't answer to factory settings. Strange, just after installation. I let it go and continue to install Windows and antivirus updates.

Seems to be the problem with alaunchx.exe has been resolved. Good job, Acer. I'm really happy, I discovered the recovery DVDs in a warranty period that failed.

  • Can I use Windows 7 restore disks to revert to Windows 7 from Windows 10?

I made the mistake of upgrading to Windows 7 to Windows 10.  I tried to reverse the process for about a week now and the only way I "think" I might be able to do is to use Windows 7 original restore disks that I generated from my computer at the time of purchase.  Can I do this?  OR verification codes have already been deleted by my faulty 10 Windows Installer?

Please advise... my install of Windows 10 makes me crazy.  Can I use my old disks of Windows 7 or Windows 7 original verification codes were invalidated by Microsoft when I "upgraded" to Windows 10.

Please advise... my install of Windows 10 makes me crazy.  Can I use my old disks of Windows 7 or Windows 7 original verification codes were invalidated by Microsoft when I "upgraded" to Windows 10.

Product keys do not become invalid. Moreover, if your restore disks contains an image of your installation then you will not have any key at all.

  • Need a key for Windows 8

When I tried to reinstall windows 8 in my laptop I have selected the wrong option and clear all the drive and remove the recovery partition.
I need the key of windows, it is not a sticker with the key attached under laptop

This key belongs to the original version of Windows that you have with your machine and cannot be used for activation if you use the version of the own BONE.
I don't know what machine you have, but, in my opinion, the best solution for you is to order the original restore disc and use it to recovery image installation. You can do it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

Your only mistake was Hat you didn't create recovery using preinstalled Toshiba Media Creator of media disc.

  • Satellite A210 - 17l BIos update to take care of advanced format HARD drive problem

    Hi all

Really hoping someone can help me with this.

My old HDD not was not so I cloned the entire disc before it failed. -Just in time, too.

    I ordered a new drive - it's a WD scorpio black - Advanced format.

Unfortunately I can't get my picture on this new album.

Also, I am unable to do a reinstall with the original restore also cd because it doesn't have service pack 1 and that means that it can't recognize the HD.

In any case id prefer to be able to restore my image and not make a re-install when even if possible.

    So my question is this:

Y at - it an update of the bios I can ask my another pc version 2.00 is available which will include options to change the options of ide drive - ahci?

It's the only solution I can think of-bearing in mind I do not have an operating system installed, so the alignment tools are not an option as another fix. -Fast technology of storage Intel drivers do not work, because I have an AMD athlon processor.

So is there any BIOS I can Flash my computer with to activate the options mentioned?

I have a method to Flash the bios with a BONE, so this isn't a problem.

Also other suggestions for workaround on this more than welcome.

    Thanks :))

    The_red_pill.

    Hello

Update BIOS don t help you. To my knowledge, it does not add additional options such as a switch between AHCI and compatible mode.
In addition, you can use ANY BIOS. You must use the BIOS that came out for the model of laptop. But as I said, this isn't a solution.

In addition, the image of Toshiba already contains all the drivers in order to install the system. It s any SP1 isn t the image part.

I guess you're talking about Vista OS, given that the laptop came with pre-installed Vista OS. http://www.Toshiba.co.UK/discontinued-products/Equium-A210-17I/

I recommend you format the HARD drive first.
Use a tool called Gparted. You can create a bootable USB key containing this tool.
This allows to start Notepad in order to format the HARD drive.

  • How to get the Japan No. recovery CD?

    Hello

I bought a notebook Toshiba satellite of the Germany. I lost the recovery CD. My notebook is not right now. There is some problem as "windows32/system files is missing or damaged. Now, I'm at the Japan. How can I get recovery CD to the Japan.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

    Pele

    Hello pelendo

In my opinion there is no way to get the original restore CD to the Japan. You can get it just in Germany. I see only two options:

-Try to get the original CD of Microsoft Windows installations and use Repair option see if you can repair the OS
-Contact someone to send you to the Japan and Germany that can try to buy a new media recovery by service partners.

Sorry, but I don't see any other possibility.

    Hello

Lucky is right. Original restore disc you can be ordered only by the authorized service partner, but you can use the CD of the full version of Microsoft. Download page for all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba.

  • R100: FDISK - simple advice needed...

Hey peeps, need for basic assistance on obtaining a R100 Tosh started, she came back to me after Win2k on it by a former user and im trying to rebuild on XP.

I have FDISK would be the drive because there is sensitive data present and created a primary partition of C, start the Xp Cd brings to the top of the blue screen of death after going through the normal configuration bits.

I tried spinning round with a USB plextor nothing helped, so I need to get the boot from cd pcmcia r100 and so he can go through the xp install everything without crashing.

Of course, this is a common question but could not find a reference to it here, appreciate all responses pointing me in the right direction...

    Thank you Neil'os...

    Hello

As far as I know this camera comes with Windows XP Home edition Professional. You have the original recovery CD and Toshiba PCMCIA reader eternal? On this path, the installation will be easy. Otherwise, it can be very complicated. Original restore CD contains the correct driver for the external device from Toshiba.

If you have two partitions on the HARD disk are trying to copy the facilities on the second CD and start from there.

  • Satellite L50D - Boot problems after replacing the hard drive

I just upgraded my hard drive of the pathetic crod 5400 they provide to a SSHD@7200rpm, but now have a major issue.

I initially image the operating system from the old hard drive to the new drive and have had chronic start-up problems (1-3-4 attempts to start to succeed if it fails at any time (often to the Toshiba start screen)).

I reinstalled from a drive under Win 8.1 plain own ENT (trying to avoid the bloatware) and it is exactly the same number and is what I used to format the laptop very well with previously and had previously worked.

I tried reformatting and reinstalling (by removing all partitions on each attempt) to the CSM, unsafe UEFI and UEFI secure. MCS is a straight line never works not proceed and both UEFI methods have the same exact result.

I tried with original restore disks and it seems to work (not had time to fully test) but I don't want the bloatware and it shouldn't be serious since, if I were a customer who forgot to make restore disks (too often) and just have to have a failed hard drive or replaced sacrificed the laptop would be now a door stop.

This seems as bad as Apple to lock people in.

So I would appreciate ideas of people to please, I don't know if there is a program that is supposed to take place on a new drive as PS3 etc (I doubt it), but that leads me into the wall, and will be the last time that I consider Toshiba as anything other than a joke, if there is no solution.

I had to replace the hard disks many times in my previous Toshiba laptops and were devoid of this crod, it has something to do with UEFI which seems more a nuisance than a help right now.

    TIA.

    Hello

In my opinion, you should first check if the startup problem is related to the new installed HARD drive or new installed system.
You said that the laptop fails to start up often to the Toshiba start screen.

The splash screen appears during the POST (power on self-test) procedure. During this test, the material will be checked.
I m wondering if the hybrid SSD/HDD isn't recognised by the BIOS during this particular step.

From my point of few, this could be the reason why the system cannot be started.

    Another important note:
The 8.1 win requires enable start secure as well as the UEFI boot mode.
Therefore, you must enable both options in the BIOS.

Last but not least check if you are using the latest BIOS version as latest firmware for the hybrid SSD/HDD
