OTP-BX18 DLNA is compatible?

I wonder if the BX18 BDP Blu - Ray player is compatible DLNA? I tried several different programs on my computer and am unable to do anything at work. I tried PS3 Media Server and Serviio. Both have done absolutely nothing for a streaming on my player. All comments are welcome! Thank you!

  • OTP-BX18 wireless?

I just bought a dvd player/blu - ray BDP-BX18 especially because I need a Blu - Ray player and I wanted access to Netflix. I discovered that this model is intended to be connected via an ethernet cable. Is it possible to connect wireless? The room in that it is a different floor of my router and would be quite difficult to get a cord to.

You can get the things that plug into the wall that transform your wiring in ethernet transmitters. It works by plugging a box next to your router and the other box in everything that you try to get ethernet, then by running ethernet lines from there. A guy at Best Buy told me to get one with 4 options of Wii Island Rocketfish ethernet jack. I had and managed to hang on until our Panasonic tv plasma (which came with no wireless card) and it works fine. I was hoping that this may help with the netflix streaming questions I received on the new Sony blu - ray player, but netflix is always there, despite the change of buffer all the minutes. I'll probably go ahead and streaming netflix to the tv or my box from Roku in the future because they have no such problems, but I want to try to make the drive blu - ray to work first, since it is largely why we got the thing and I find it irritating that we paid for something that is not working properly.

  • Live TV buffering in Media Player completing SSDS?

    Hi all:

I have a HTPC with a SiliconDust HDHomeRun DOUBLE 2 - Tuner ATSC DLNA/UPnP Compatible Streaming Media Player, HDHR4-2.  It is a network tuner that can stream live tv over the network on multiple computers.  It is supposed to work with Windows Media Center, set up a dual tuner or Window Media Player via DLNA playback.  I also have a simple Hauppauge tuner installed in my HTPC and it is more sensitive (a stronger signal) so I save most while using them in Windows Media Center.  I have not installed the SiliconeDust tuner in Media Center because then I can't control which tuner will record a particular program.  I would like to watch TV Live Media Player when the internal tuner Hauppauge record something else, but come to find out that the 120 GB SSD with my operating system has suddenly filled up in the 8 GB of capacity.  When I select a channel to watch in Media Player via DLNA the PC shows that it is buffering for a few minutes then the program will begin to play without any problems.   This same problem happened on the SSD in my PC NUC.  I can't find anything that could be filling two SSDS and the problem became noticeable when I started to use the DLNA for live broadcasting.

It is possible that Windows Media Player is acting as it records the live streams and record programs somewhere where I can't say.  In both PC, I have separated HDs for recorded TV and in Media Center have selected other readers for tv registered so I don't fill the SSD.

On the PC of NUC, I already had to re - install Windows 7 O.S. because the 240 GB SSD was filled within 10 GB of capacity, in a few weeks after starting to watch shows via DLNA Media Player.   I couldn't find the TV folder saved on the C: drive to see if there are any of your recorded shows it.  I'm down to only 8 GB now left on the O.S. SSD in my HTPC and will probably have to reinstall Windows soon that too.  I do not give up watching TV with Media Player because then I wouldn't be able to record and watch tv at the same time.  My antenna signal is too weak to use a double internal tv tuner with an amplifier online.  Anyone with useful ideas?

Since I moved to Windows 8 I can access is more to my files (sometimes I can see my files but it is not stable and never files...)

instead of my PC, I can play my files on TV

Is - my BDP-780 is not DLNA compatible with Windows 8?

I strictly followed the instructions of Windows to configure my network...

    Hello Nicolas,.

Welcome to the community of Sony.

The BDPS780 Blu - ray player is compatible for the streaming of files of Windows 8 computer via DLNA.

The DLNA function works by using the Windows 8 operating system, if the parameter is set to desktop mode. To work, select the setting in Office mode if you are using the new Windows User Interface (UI).

Make sure that the firewall on the router settings do not prevent the media server to the client machine.

Follow the steps mentioned on the underside of the base article of knowledge.

  • What is the best type of file for dissemination of a dvd to DLNA compatible TV?

Hello all. I have an old pc running xp pro sp3, Media Player 11 and Nero Media Home Esentials 4 as my DLNA server. I just bought a LG TV which is DLNA certified. How can I get my collection of films to broadcast on television? Hard, the TV is connected to my home network and my Netflix subscription works very well and my music stream beautifly. My movie collection is stored as iso files, but the LG TV nor the nero software recognize the iso as a file to read. What would be the fastest way to convert these files and what is the best file format to maintain the quality of the original dvd format? So far, I absolutely love the DLNA but I saw some mpeg and avi video and the quality is very poor. I have one of my iso dvd of for a rip avi file, but the quality is once again, poor.

Thanks for any help in getting myself educated with my new toy!

    Scott

If you ask me, I prefer MKV and H.264 - they are easily superior to DivX and MPEG2, IMO.

But even once, as Barb says, try your luck on the LG forums as well.

  • My DLNA compatible TV takes a long time to detect the DLNA server on Windows 7 computer laptop via wifi

I have a Panasonic plasma tv and a laptop running Windows 7 x 64.  I had no problem with the TV detect my laptop and watch movies via the DLNA server in wifi, aside from the videos stopping frequently, loss of the connection and reconnect.  Thinking it was a problem with my router, I contacted the manufacturer of the router and received a replacement of the same router.

Apart from switching on the router, nothing has changed.  However, when I try to go to the DLNA function on the TV, it will appear the message "DLNA server is not found. Finally, anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes later, my computer appears on its own in the list and I can continue to watch the videos as usual.  The connection seems to be more stable than before because he rarely abandons the connection after the replacement of the router, but waiting for my computer appears mystified me.
Y at - it is a particular setting in my notebook or the router that should be adjusted to solve this problem? As I said before, I reflected quite well the former router settings so I'm really helpless why it takes so long.
Oh, and I use Windows Media Player stream 12.0.7601.17514 (as I was before).
Thanks for any insight of this!

  • OTP-S790 does not play. Server DLNA MKV files

    Hi all

I have a Western Digital MyBookLive NAS drive and I copied all my. MKV and. MPG files. I can play. MPG files using the PS3 and BDP-S790, but not able to play. MKV files. Is this common? In the forums, I have seen that two of them should be able to play. MKV files on Server DLNA network. One has faced this problem?

    Thank you

    Rama

    Hello

In fact, I solved my problem with the Synology NAS and the fact that it worked with the WIFI connection and not with the ethernet connection.

To use the S790 as a streamer with a Synology NAS media, it is necessary to do the following on the Synology DSM software:

-Open the multimedia server on the DSM (via the drop-down list at the top left).
-Select DMA compatibility, then list of devices from this tab.

    -Declare S790 as a default

The problem is that the S790 has two different addresses, one when it is used with a wifi connection and another when it is used with the ethernet connection! So the solution is to do the above for both mac addresses.

Everything works as it should, and I can stream the NAS .mkv files.

  • (OTP-s185) Problem please help-DLNA

I have the player of Blu - ray Sony bdp-s185, and it is connected to the internet through the LAN. However, I can't use the dlna and 'throw' videos with.my.xperia smartphone. I put these internet things properly, and I can watch YouTube etc.
But my phone says "Device not found", and I can't throw anything for the blueray drive.
My drive supports the functions of jet/dlna? Or is it because I missed something important during implementation?

  • 3.1 AT100 not seen by Win7 as a network device, dlna fail

My AT100 with v3.1 can use the Toshiba Media Player integrated to transmit certain types of video from my PC Win7 Home Edition, but the PC can't see the AT100 as a WiFi-connected device. As the AT100 is certified compatible DLNA (I know that "compliant" does not necessarily mean "fully compliant with all aspects") I expect to see the AT100 in view of features of Win7 as my Media Player for WDTVLive appears.

I use a TV tuner card in the PC to record free to air programs for changing object that registers Win7 as .wtv file types. The AT100 nor the WDTVLive could play this type of file when pulling the stream from the PC. However, I can push the .wtv files using the WDTVLive watching "Play To" feature. I can't ' play to ' the AT100 because Win7 does not recognize the AT100 as a device connected.

OMP Win7 there is a window that shows all the devices on the network and allows streaming of the permissions to be set individually for each device. I can find the AT100 in this list as an unidentified device by matching the MAC address reported.

I plugged the AT100 by USB and charge Win7 a driver, it gave me the ability new use of WiFi on the AT100 to control the streaming of files from the PC to the WDTVLive. The PC, however continues to refuse to recognize the AT100 its device management windows.

Whoever did this with different results?

    Bill

    Hello

Can't say anything about the DLNA but AFAIK the Toshiba Media Player preinstalled on A100 supports different mod and one of the mods called DMP (digital media player).
Choice of this mode allows to connect to the PC or laptop with preinstalled Windows Media Player 12. But this only works under Win 7! This will allow to distribute video files.

  • Qosmio G50 129: can it be used/accessed by other DLNA products?

    Hello

I have a Qosmio G50-129. I am looking to purchase a DLNA Certified TV but wanted to know if the laptop is compatible DLNA so that I can access the contents of my Qosmio on the TV or if it was all I needed to do the Qosmio "DLNA compatible?

The http://www.dlna.org/digital_living/product_types/#pc_frame site advises the following:
    "Personal computers (PC).
One who has a PC knows that they have powerful network capabilities built-in. Thus, their DLNA Certified potential is determined only by the type of software installed on them.

DLNA Certified PC are able to act as a Digital Media Server (DMS), Digital Media Player (DMP), Digital Media Controller (DMC) or digital media converter (DMR). Most of the PC available today start with be certified as a DMS, since many of us keep most of our digital content on our PC. »

There is also a section of research and correspondence on the site that does not have my model Qosmio. This mean that I can not, or is there a solution/work around for this?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    REkha

As far as I know that any PC with a NIC (Ethernet or Wi - Fi) can become a DLNA device by installing DLNA software. In January 2010 the DLNA started a software certification program.

As far as I know Toshiba will offer the new application in the future and make it more comfortable to use DLNA. Must be an interface for Windows Media Player.

For now, you can try to use the standard features of Windows 7 which should be available in Windows media player (supplied with Windows 7) 12.
To be honest I don't have any other DLNA device and can not test it, but very quickly I want to buy DLNA player Blu - ray with integrated WLAN and want to have access to my PC and watch movies on TV but portable saved on HARD drive.

So look for some info on the DLNA on Windows media player 12 service and see how it works.

Please be so kind and inform us of this.
