• Problems with the "use tiny file names...". "checkbox in the settings of WebHelp box

  Given that the RH 9 is only able to run on Windows, the checkbox "Use tiny file names..." ' (see image below) can cause some unexpected problems when generating output for a unix (or linux) platform. I found this recently when generating output of web for a project that is visualized on a linux platform machine and met hundreds of broken links unexpected help.

  

  If this is the first time you generate your project output, this function works very well - it converts all topics, image files and all what it takes to display help, lower case. However, if for some reason, you had generated previous outputs without this box, and now you have decided that you want all your files output in lower case, just check this box and regenerating the output will not work.

  The reason is simple - the Windows operating system does not distinguish between upper and lower case in file names (e.g., fichier.htm name is the same as the FILE name.) (HTM). UNIX (and linux) are case-sensitive and treat these files are two separate files. Therefore, HR fact not (cannot) change existing file in your folder names with this checked out and gives no message indicating such when generating the output. In this case, the only way to solve this problem is to delete the folder containing your output files and have HR to regenerate your project from scratch.

  I had an additional problem which has made things even worse. In a project for a linux platform, I have unchecked the box during the creation of project by accident (perhaps over a period of days or weeks). Then, due to another problem, I had to restore my project at an earlier stage. At this point, I discovered that my necessary help links of the files using lowercase and uppercase the filenames for all work very well.

  I've seen no mention of this in the HR documentation, so I thought that I must draw the attention of the HR community.

  Yes - just to clarify, I'm taking everything I publish on.

  Reminder - just those who publish in a Unix/Linux warning environment if you need to change the case of file names in your folder you post on and you already have stuff in there with the same name, you will need to delete the files first before you republish.

• The use of files from Mac .caf

  How?

  I have a ton of Mac .caf audio files sitting in Garage Band that I want to use in the first for PC.  I can get them on the PC, but the first may not use - at least in its current state.  Is it possible to use them WITHOUT having to convert them into WAV or MP3?

  Cool; got 'EM, and they'll work with my solution! I guess you do this in Windows, but it should work on a Mac too.

  1. Download MPEG Streamclip for your OS here: http://www.squared5.com/
  2. Once you open MPEG Streamclip (no installation is necessary), the select list > list of batches. The batch list window appears.
  3. Click Add at the bottom of the window and navigate to the folder where the files of your CAF are registered.
  4. The CAF files do not appear by default, so in the "File name" box, type (without quotes) "* College" to make them appear. When they do, select them all (works of Ctrl + A) and click Open.
  5. A dialog box appears asking you to "Please choose a task;" in the drop-down list, select the option "save under. No need to check the other options; Just click OK.
  6. When you click OK, you will be presented with a folder/file browser window; Navigate to your destination folder, and then click OK.
  7. You will then see a window that says "open file error: unsupported file type." Do not despair just click "Open anyway."
  8. The next window will ask you to select a file format; Choose MOV, and then click OK.
  9. Finally, after all, the files will be added to the list of lots with the settings window you just put. Simply click on the Go button and watch the files fly!

  The conversion should go very quickly because there is no re-encoding event. MPEG Streamclip is simply split the College container open, by extracting the streams and their conversion into a MOV container. They will also be named the same as your original. CAF files are encoded with the Apple Lossless Audio Codec, which is a legitimate codec to QuickTime, Windows and even in the first, but the container of the FCA cannot be split open by something other than QuickTime (at least on a PC). MPEG Streamclip is an extremely capable front-end for QuickTime; It does pretty much everything than QuickTime Pro (and even more, as the batch) for free.

  EDIT: actually, I just noticed that your CAFs have been encoded with AAC audio. the test clip I had was ALAC. Nevertheless, they import very well.

  Anyway, you will end up with a bunch of MOV with no video, but audio streams of the ALAC. These perfectly fine imports in the first and you'll have done so without loss; compare the sizes of file and you will see that they are in a few KBs files CAF.

• recommendations for the use of files outside of the root of web documents

  I decided to give another go to Dreamweaver now that I have CS4, rather than "hand coding", it's been a while, and I'm just getting used to everything...

  So the first site I created is a PHP/MySQL site and I have the installer. I have the files local/tests/remote view works fine, trotting along, now I want add files I normally outside the root of web documents, for example, if the web root is/website/htdocs / I like to put some files in/site/includes and include / require them as needed. The problem is that I can't decide how to view these files/folders by Dreamweaver.

  My only choice to move the root of the document/site sets up a directory? How will this effect site preview and other features?

  It is one of the less satisfactory aspects of the management of site in Dreamweaver, and several developers, including myself, made pressure on the Dreamweaver team in recent years to improve it. Who knows? They could possibly take knowledge.

  The only way to do at present is to create two site definitions, one nested inside the other. Set up the site definition normally based on specific folder as the root of your site. Then create a new site definition based on site. Dreamweaver will be nag you it can cause problems, but this doesn't actually block you to do. The only potential problem is with synchronization of the site.

  The problem with the use of site as the only basis for the definition of your site is that Dreamweaver automatically puts things like connections, Scripts and other files in the root of the site. Thus, all things evil at the level of the site hierarchy. Frankly, all this is a bit of a pain. Development of the dynamic site has been added to Dreamweaver only in the version 6 (Dreamweaver MX), and nobody had really thought through the need to store files outside the root of the site.

  If I do a cfdump of #application.ftpUser it gives me the above information.

  If I do a cfdump of #application.commExch #, I get

  Element COMMEXCH is undefined in APPLICATION.

  Why would have occurred?

  I've done 2 websites a few years before in Dreamweaver 8. We now have windows 7 at work, then we experience CS5.

  Basically, I opened our web records (which were made in Dreamweaver 8) in CS5 and the site ios is not not very friendly at all. It's almost as if she does not recognize the codes and formats properly.

  I tested it after the previous message which was released indicating that you have an error, the nice thing about Foglight is that it allows to see the measures that exist (as you noted the names are a bit different in this case as the example of the JVM) and it also gives you a test button to validate the expression) , don't forget to make sure that she only appliese to the things that have names like Perm if you want it calculated only for generations of perm.

  Step 1: On the start menu, search cmd, Windows locate the cmd.exe which is the prompt, right click above and clock on run as administrator.

  I have a problem with my computer it has been infected by a virus that is not visible in normal mode. It prevents running any application that would help in the detection and removal. I tried running mrt, mcaffe, trendmicro rootkit detector rootkit detector, spybotSD, analysis windows Defender online Windows live onecar. All these works for a minute and then shutsdown, when I click it again I get the error, as mentioned in the title, 'windows cannot access the specified device file or the path, you do not have permissions.

  This problem has a solution or re - install is the only way out?

  The pointers/help appreciated.

  Just to add, I am able to connect using my last known good configuration and only safe mode configurations.
