• The use of Port profiles

  My understanding of the use of port profiles includes the implementation of the Nexus 1 K / 5K, etc. and the implementation of VM - FEX correct? These port profiles are then pushed to vCenter to be used by the unloading of the virtual machine networking UCSM portion and not the VM admin... Is this correct?

  N1k/N5k/UCS VM - FEX port-profiles are used by the network & the VMware administrator.  The network administrator creates the port-profile & affects properties (VLAN, QoS, ACLs, etc.)-available functions differ on each product with N1k offering the most features.  After the port-profile is to create it is automatically published in vCenter.  The admin of vCenter then assigns port-profiles to VM and vmnic interfaces.  This essentially separates the roles of administrator network & system so that each person can focus on their area of expertise.

  Port-profiles are also available on stand-alone N5k/N7k to be used when the interface models when you do not turn on with VMware.

• The use of ports Combo SG-300 for the loopback test

  Hello

  I have a switch SG300 - 10 p and tries to use it to create a test environment for a Fiber Test set. I want to do is get two hosts, & Abbots, plugged into ports 1 and 3 on the switch, to talk to each other, but forcing traffic routing via two ports Combo 9 & 10. Please see the attached diagram.

  I tried to configure two VLANS, 10 and 20. VLAN 10 is used for traffic between Ports 1 and 9, Vlan 20 is used for traffic between Ports 3 and 10.

  I really don't like if traffic is marked or not identified as it passes between 9 and 10 ports.

  I tried different combinations of ports tag/no identified, PVID, etc.. As a first test, I bypassed the fiber test established and simply created a connection between ports 9 and 10.  I can't get the traffic from host A to host B to get routed through ports 9 and 10 (I ping each host in the other and does not).

  Any ideas for how to achieve?

  Hi Maurice.

  I suggest to make sure you are in the current version of the firmware 1.1.1.8.

  The current version of the firmware has a CLI supported.

  This CLI running configuration is reflected in the GUI and on the other hand, the changes made to the GUI are reflected immediately in the CLI.

  Please see the administration guide on how to update the firmware.

  Native statistics are unlikely to give you a historical trend for the period you're looking for.  See the monitoring/stats for the UCSM system section for more information on the rules of collection of statistics.  The default value for the period appears to be 2 hrs to watch statistics table.

  You can look something like manage performance UCSr, which can do a trend and will retain much historical perspective of production like detailed.

  For a short term in UCSM view, click the LAN tab, then a given port channel, in the right pane statistics, chart and "configure chart" to add in the box counters as "total number of bytes.

  I have several instances of the same device...

  I wish that they all use the same COM Port when connecting to my Toughbook.
  The application that will receive data from these devices will only monitor a single COM Port assigned to.

  I have only one active connection both for couples... That's why Ifeel, this should be possible.

• iOS 10.0.1 "not allowed to use the restricted network port.

  I just upgraded my iPad Mini iOS 10.0.1. He is now running Safari 10. I tried to visit an internal/private IP on port 4190 using HTTP. I get an error that says:

  Safari cannot open the page.

  The error was: "not allowed to use the restricted network port.

  On iOS 9.3 using Safari 9, the same URL opens fine without this error.

  Do not know what has changed since iOS to iOS 10.0.1, 9.3 but I'm unable to visit a web site that I have visited before.

  I know that WebKit maintains a list of ports that you cannot go (e.g. 6666), 4190 is not a restricted port AFAIK. I don't know why I get this error message.

  It seems I was looking at the wrong source code.

• Using the second ethernet port to connect to the printer?

  Hi I have a Mac Pro 2.1 old school and I'm wondering if I can connect to the network with an ethernet port and connect the latter to a printer?

  Physically, you use a port and a cable to connect to your network and use the second port and a second cable to connect directly to the printer. The printer must obviously have an interface Ethernet himself.

  However, you need to configure the second port on the Mac and the Ethernet port on the printer for each manually configured the TCP/IP addresses and these should be in a range of different network to your main network.

  If you the main network is something like 192.168.1.1 then your printer and the port on the Mac connection to this need to be in another network, such as 192.168.11.1.

  In theory, if the printer supports Hello aka. mDNS, then maybe you can get away with not having to configure TCP/IP addresses for the connection.

  The main reasons to use a second separate connection as this would be the performance or security, and frankly I don't think that's really relevant here. This would mean that no other computers on your network will be able to access the printer.

  Can I use the s - vhs port to send video to my TV? I have a good s - vhs cable to SCART. However, I can't set up the laptop to use the port s - vhs. The driver intel graphics media accelerator thingy does not allow me to add tv as another device, because it's not reccognise as a screen.

  It's a Toshiba 21 '' bog standard CRT. Widescreen even not. I want to be able to use the media library.

  Of course, you can use this port. This port is there exactly for this purpose. Make sure to use right high quality cable and connect it properly on your TV. I use the same port on my Tecra. I also use adapter SCART like this one http://videoclub.tiscali.co.uk/img/scart_adaptor.gif and it works perfectly. Make sure you use the right settings on your TV.

• How can we change the TCP/IP ports used by LabView?

  I'm under LabView 8.2 on a computer running windows XP sp2.  This computer is connected to a compact RIO via Ethernet.  The system works very well, but now I am trying to add an IP intercom function (acoustic digital ii3) this intercom uses a program called talkMaster to communicate with the host computer.  I can't communicate with the intercom because this program needs of ports 3000,3002,5000 and 5006.   I used a program called Currports to see what ports are used, and a program called lkcitdl.exe (National Instruments Logos product name) uses port 5000.  Is there a way to change this? I contacted digital sound technical support and they said there is no way to change it at their end.

  I believe that we have an article on this somewhere, but I don't have a link at the moment. Under Windows, you can set the port range used by the protocols of Logos in the registry. Reach

  HKLM\Software\National Instruments\Logos\Ports

  You will find two values DWORD here, FirstClientPort, and FirstServerPort, which defaults to 5000 and 6000 respectively. Logos will search for the first available port in the range [FirstClientPort, FirstClientPort + 1000] or [FirstServerPort, FirstServerPort + 1000] when starts a server or a client. By adjusting the registry, you should be able to find a port range that does not conflict with your software. You need to restart all programs OR after you make this change (probably easier to simply restart the computer).

  Hey guys, it seems that there is still much confusion over the functions of the port mictousb on the place of the 11 sessions pro.

• PowerConnect 6248 stacking using the front SFP Ports

  I am trying to stack two Dell Powerconnect 6248 switches. Currently they are chained together, but I modules fibre for the front sfp ports. Theoretically, I should be able to stack them. But when I try:

  Could not set the front panel stacking mode.

  The PCT6200 requires a stack of modules installed in Bay 1 (XG1 XG2) at the rear of the switch. The stacking module uses CX4/Infiniband type stacking spacers.

  Looks like I've tried everything.  When I uninstall the driver and restart my computer with the camera on playback mode, the device is found, takes me through the installation wizard and peripheral band AV/C, list host controller and about things but not the Canon camera.  The ToolTip that appears down right when the new hardware is found listed the specific Canon camera along the spirit the other stuff.

  On a random note, I uninstalled the IEEE 1394 and used the "Add Hardware" command to find the camera.  It worked once!  Grew up in windows movie maker and tried to download.  Along the way got a weird error 'photogalley' insert disk I have? Code of 1706.

  Never could make him again.  For only "device not detected.

  I get this error thing photogalley even when you do a scan.  If I hit Cancel enough that he leaves and the analysis was recorded.

  I'm just smart enough to be dangerous, but eager to get this resolved.  Any help most appreciated!
