You may have to restart your computer. "So I restarted my computer and went and it was OK, the service was not working. So I started manually. This allowed me to get updates. I clicked on install, and it said installation of updates. Its been almost 3 hours. In the Task Manager it shows the window updates running and in services, it shows the service running windows update. I'm just curious to know how long to him given has not updated for 5 months? • Why delete files taking so long in Windows 7?

  I am running windows 7 64 bit on a high-end computer mind nine 8 GB RAm still deleting files takes forever. for example I'm deleting 258 files in a directory as we speak - total size of all files in 458kb (Yes half a megabyte) and windows tells me that it'll take 8 minutes to do! Surely, it should be almost instant? How can I speed up the deletions of files?

  It seems slow.  If you are used to use disks formatted FAT32, the stronger NTFS takes significantly longer because it does synchronously things that FAT32 things are started and left under the assumption that they will still complete successfully; and unfortunately that can sometimes cause problems.

  In addition to the suggestion of Ken Blake to find malware, I suggest that you check the installed utilities.  If you have one installed real-time backup programs, some of them can do a real job on the performance.  Try to start safe mode and try some of your slow deletions or copies.  Concerning copies, your antivirus program may cause a big performance hit because they verify each file as it is copied.  Temporarily disable your antivirus can greatly improve speed in many cases.  One thing you might want to try is DEFRAG if you haven't done so recently.  Modern versions of Windows generally do this automatically, but sometimes doing a DEFRAG manual can help.

  Everytime I open windows Explorer and go to any folder that has a large number of files it contains, the address bar of windows explore turns into a bar green thermometer that takes forever to fill. Then, if you want to sort the results of this long waiting to something as updated or something, it does all of the process even more.

  Is there a way to disable this painful process or speed it up significantly?

  1 put the computer to boot and check if the problem persists.

  2. scan your computer of viruses or malware.

  To perform a clean boot on a computer that is running Windows Vista, follow these steps.

  1. click on Start, type msconfig in the Search box and press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.

  2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

  3. under Selective startup, clear the Load Startup items check box.

  4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click disable all.

  5. click on OK.

  6. When you are prompted, click restart.

  7. after the computer starts, check if the problem persists.

• SKULLCANDY Hesh 2 headphone connection is no longer in Windows 7

  I got these headphones Skullcandy Hesh 2 for Christmas this year and until recently they worked very well. Now they are no longer connect via Bluetooth. The headset sounds the word "Pairing" and nothing will actually connect.

  I had problems with it lately and I found that it is enough to remove the device and add new would work perfectly, but now is not.

  

  I would say just 'research of Services' for all eternity when normally it would pop right up with connect it or disconnect option.

  They are not appearing on the playback devices either.

  This problem may occur because of corrupted or obsolete Bluetooth driver.

  I suggest you perform the methods below to resolve this issue.

  Method 1
  Check the Service Support Bluetooth.
  a. press Windows + R keys and type services.msc in the run window, and then press ENTER.
  b. Select 'Bluetooth support service.
  c. make sure you it is set to 'Automatic' and is running. If not, double-click on the service, in startup type, select 'Automatic' and click on 'start '.
  d. click on apply and ok.

  Windows 7 supports filename up to 260 characters. I would ask you to decrease the characters in the file name and then try to copy the files.
  
  Let us, run disk checking hard disk utility and then check.
  Here's how:
  1. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.
  2. click on the drive you want to check, and then click Properties.
  3. click on the Tools tab and then, under check for errors, click Find now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  To automatically repair problems with files and folders that the scan detects, select automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will be a problem, but not to fix them.
  To perform a thorough check, select search and attempt to recover bad sectors. This analysis tries to find and repair physical errors on the disk itself, and it may take much longer to complete.
  To check for errors file and the physical errors, select both automatically fix errors in file system and search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
  4. click on start.
   
   
  Depending on the size of your drive, it may take several minutes. For best results, do not use your computer for any other tasks while it checks errors.
   
  Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

• Why am I no longer see Windows Update shield in the taskbar?

  I had to do a complete Windows repair my motherboard died back in January.

  Since obtaining Windows XP pro upward and run again, I did not the usual yellow reminder Windows Update shield in the taskbar. I put Windows to warn me, but not to install any update.

  I just went to the update page, and it is said that there are no new updates needed. Strange... I would have thought there were security fixes since the end of January.

  Even using a third party such as Secunia scanner, said that I'm updating. There had been no updates since January for Windows XP Pro?

  I did mine on February 17, but yes, it's the last that I have now. This months updates should be available today (March 13). I'm waiting for my small yellow shield to wait another day before telling me that they are ready. Even so, I wait a day or 3 and analyze the news to see if something catastrophic is reported in tech reviews online before I install them.
