  Numbers and pages are trying to be smart and recognize wht kind of data that you enter. If you enter something that resembles a date they will treat it as such. Some people have problems with serial numbers because programs to format their numbers and not text.

  View the data that you are trying to enter and how it's changed and we ca probably to understand what is happening to her.

• Cannot open files of Pages saved in my folder to iCloud

  If I create a page file on my iMac and save it in my iCloud account, I can't open it from there if I need to access it again. The only way I can open it is by connecting to iCloud and opening it from this location. Can someone please let me know if this process is correct, or do I have to change a setting somewhere for me to open my files from the folder local iCloud on my iMac. I have no problems at the opening of MS Word documents. Any help on this would be appreciated.

  Start Pages and when the open file picker appears, click on the entry reader favorite iCloud and then navigate to the document, either in the folder of your Pages, or another folder. Click it, and then select open.

  If this does not work, search for the document in the Finder and then while pressing the option key held down, drag the file to your desktop. Double-click to open pages.

  I stopped using iCloud photo library on the Mac due to low disk space, however I always use iCloud photo library on other devices and would like to have the video available here. I tried to use the web interface to iCloud by using Safari, but I get a message that the format is not supported

  I guess I could convert the file in another format, however, I do not want 3rd party applications on my Mac, and I worry about compromising video quality. Is the other way to do this?   Pages: Is it possible, or can be made possible in future updates, always store a copy of a Pages document on iCloud drive.  Most often, I want to save a document in its corresponding project on my computer, so he faints from iCloud, but I would like to have a copy stored in iCloud also.  Can there be a checkbox on the Save panel or preferences that says keep about iCloud copy... Whether or not the copy in my project folder synchronize is not important because the iCloud copy can be considered the "living" document but this default copy would be really handy.

  Very good suggestion. You can also create a duplicate for each document and save the double real on iCloud drive. Another way is to have the real project records on the iCloud drive with documents in there like normal and just have an alias on the desktop, etc. for easy access.

  I use Pages 5.6.1 on Mac Mini, mid-2011, El Capitan 10.11.2 running.

  I am connected to iCloud and Pages is configured in iCloud preferences settings.

  When I create a document on my Mac, I expect to save the section Pages iCloud drive (folder). This isn't. The only way to get a document in iCloud is expressly save there.

  I thought as I edit and save Pages on Mac documents, they are updated and saved on my drive to iCloud. But the only way I can get in there and make them available to my other devices is working completely in iCloud. So, I save in my Mac if I want to what they phusically on my hard drive.

  What I am doing wrong?

  You must save in iCloud drive. The only things on iCloud drive are what you save here. Nothing on a Mac is automatically saved to iCloud.

  Also note that a copy of what you save in iCloud drive rest on your Mac hard drive as well. It is not a way to save something of your Mac to iCloud by car without automatically copy remaining on your Mac. You don't need to save a second copy of anywhere else on your Mac for them to be on your hard drive.

  You can see that is in iCloud drive on your Mac via the Finder. If you open Finder and then go to the Finder menu and click on Preferences, then click on sidebar at the top of the Preferences window you can choose to show iCloud drive in the sidebar of all of your Finder Windows to facilitate access to this location on your Mac. If, for example, disconnect your Mac of internet you will always be able to access all files in iCloud Drive on your Mac.

• How to make the page less than 26mm format?

  Trying to create labels for a printer of labels with 14 mm wide labels. Creating labels using Corel Draw X 5. Printing with Acrobat XI and the creation of the custom page size, e.g. 14mm width and 80mm in height. The added size is not listed in the drop-down list. Any format below 26 mm in all directions is not displayed. Also tried Microsoft Word.

  So instead I tried Foxit and the Foxit printer does not have this problem. It shows even formats I've already added (but can not see) using Acrobat XI printer.

  I reported this as a bug to Adobe.

  I installed the XI version since I was actually using Acrobat version 9. Thought years of development would have fixed this, but not... or is it just my computer that has this problem?

  You cannot export to PDF directly from Corel Draw? I suppose that you have set up a page size of 14 mm x 80 mm.

• Minimizing the differences between the print document page numbers and page numbers fixed ePub format

  I'm currently involved in a project of ePub format fixed relatively simple. I almost completely finished with the file, but I see for export, only the page numbers in the table of contents for navigation begin numbering at a point different than the print document.

  I certainly don't expect the software ideally know exactly where I want the numbering to start, but I was wondering: is there a way to change the starting point of the navigation table of contents so that I can select the starting point? Here's a screenshot of the situation I describe, taken on my iPad mini using iBooks. A fix for InDesign would be useful, I am very willing to modify the code. Please let me know what additional information can help.

  I don't have a good answer for you on that I've been unable to get this works as is suspected.

  The next update will include support for a list of the fixed layout pages and to my surprise that it was unsuccessful in the evolution of the Navigation table of contents page (right) numeric values that you see.

  Those who seem to come from literally the index of the XHTML file where is the target of the table of contents. If iBooks is unable to find the target it displays the entry under '... ».

  Where the list of pages seems to make a difference on the iOS7/iBooks, is when you're scouring the pages in display mode page it will display the value of the entry in the list of pages... which is now generated from the string of InDesign page number in a gray oval.

  Maybe this has changed to iOS8/iBooks or perhaps other readers it manage differently - I never had the chance to try it on other players.

  Forgive me if this is a very basic question (it's probably!), but it is a problem of layout that is a little more advanced than what I have worked with so far in InDesign.

  I'm working on a guide of type "how to use".  The layout you want for the guide will look something like this:

  

  Now, the number of steps in each of the minis tutorials will vary (a tutorial could have 5 stages, 12, etc.); but basically, each step will consist of three elements. Text, a screenshot and additional notes that might provide a hint, a reference for more information or additional comment.

  Now, my question is... is it possible to plan the autoflowing such as the three elements can "auto format" as a group, if I need to insert a new step between two existing?  In other words, if I have the three steps above and then decide to do another step between 2 and 3, it is possible to automatically move existing step 3 to step 4 on the next page, and the 'new' stage becomes stage 3? (I hope that makes sense).

  I tried to look in the help file, but I still confuse. 8-)  Thank you for the pointers help sections or tutorials that might make this a little more clear.

  If you want that step, the screen shot and notes to behave as a unit, you want to probably those parts that make up the unit moves to a new page if one of them is too long to go on the current page, or when you insert one or more units in the stream.

  A table is a way to handle this. You can set the cell borders to white, wide enough to create the spaces between the items; You can also set boundaries for zero width and color no, set cell overlays for maintaining inter-point spaces.

  To create the dial, you use a paragraph style that uses a numbered list. If each element on a line will be numbered the same - 1, 1, 1, then 2, 2, 2, etc., your paragraph styles can use one of the following methods to get the numbering:

  * Use a numbered list. For the style of paragraph number step, use a numbering system that increases by one for each stage. For the screenshot and the numbered note of paragraph styles, use the same numbered list, put in place to keep the same number step whose line it is on.
