Paint cannot read this file. Is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported. »

Suddenly, for the first time, I get this message why I try to open my Word documents.  Obviously, I did something to my installation; I normally do not use Paint.   I suspect that it is an easy fix, but I don't know where to start.  I would appreciate any advice.

It is not surprising that paint cannot figure out what to do with a Word document.

It sounds as if your file associations have become confused.

Find a Word doc, right-click on it and select open with > choose default program

Select Microsoft Word from the list of recommended programs, don't forget to check the box "Always use the selected program to open this type of file", and then click OK.

  • PAINT cannot open .odt files

I created a list of games won in a certain category for pleasure and saved it on my USB flash drive and several times have opened to make sure that I am not a game I already won.

Today, it is not open.  He reads THAT PAINT cannot read odt. files.  I have Open Office.  Now, yesterday I did something to the Open Office draw and tried to save it to the images in my library.  He saved very well and was open, but it was closed for all other programs and applications.  Paint, fresh paint and of course sky drive, but in the State closed so that no photo program effects could open no more.  I understand all that, so I deleted the drawing.  I mention this as an example of my use of odt files and an attempt to open something.   It didn't involve my flash drive.

I have two other flash drives, I tried to open it and he opened them all except odt. files.  I will reiterate, all 3 have worked very well.

Why, when I opened them tells it that PAINT is unable to open these files, when you're leading Explorer, I open my flash drive in?

  • C00D11B1 error - cannot read this Type of file... even if she had been. Media Player W.

    Hello.

As above, I now get the "C00D11B1" error code when you try to play MPG files out of my camera through Media Player.  It cannot read this type of file.  Unfortunately, for the past six years, he played identical videos taken out of this camera.

Help on the Web sends me to a page that doesn't seem to be not applicable, with my sound card is the issue (it is perfectly functional, plays MP3s, etc.).  Media Player plays all the other files it usually plays (AVI, MP4).

I checked with Windows Update, just as a thought.  Nothing has changed - not surprising.

How can I fix?  I don't want to take just a blind shot to a system restore point.  I'm under the latest Windows 7, 32-bit, and nothing (including the MSE) Watch malware either.  Already tried MS Fix - It. He finds a couple of possible errors and I let correct... but nothing that has solved the problem.

    Thank you very much.

Follow-up: I made a boot SAFE and SECURE connection and was able tot save the iCloud, but no other player, including a USB doesn't stick with 'IGNORE the PERMISSIONS ON this VOLUME' of.  I firmly believe that, despite the error message, this is not a problem of file system permissions, it has something to do with the sand boxed apps and my primary UID.  I created a group called family and I made this my main group by using the utility of directory identifier.  I changed then owners on my hierarchy so that my files were all held by the new group ID.  I noticed that the message an error about a file created from a template generated the error:

    05/12/15 6:53:56.350 PM sandboxd [399]: Numbers (76643) ([76643]) deny-read-data file /private/var/folders/x5/3sxc34k13j12nv9twq2_m_fc0000gn/C/com.apple.iconservices store.index

    And when I listed the permissions: imac-5 k (1): com.apple.iconservices rfbrost$ ls - ö @

    -rw - 1 personal rfbrost - 7655424 Nov 25 15:25 store.index

I noticed that the temporary file is created as the ID of Group staff.  Whence the system get this info?  My primary group ID is now family.  It should not important here because the file does not have still permissions RWX group, but it is strange to me.  What is a latent bug that the default group is always personal?

Finally, I'm able to drag the file created and saved on the disk to my main iCloud file hierarchy and read it very well.  At other times, in a sandbox application, I am able to duplicate the file and save the duplicate but not the original file (called untitled) created from a template.

    Hello

    ·         You have Microsoft Security Essentials on your computer?

If you have windows installed on your computer security essentials, then you will not be able to install Windows defender. Windows Security Essentials has antispyware component installed.

You get the error because you have installed MS Security Essentials, which has its own function to antimalware. You don't need or want to install Windows Defender, too. Leave MS Security Essentials installed and do not turn it off.

Hi there, I need to be able to read the raw files on an Olympus Stylus 1 via CS5 and Lightroom 4.  I downloaded Raw plugin v 6.7.1 file but still cannot read the files?

    Read this http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html table

The Olympus Stylus 1 was first supported Camera 8.3 crude which is compatible with the CS6 and CC.

It is not compatible with CS5 or more and never will be.

If you do not upgrade to CS6 or CC, then you can dwonload the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all Stylus 1 Raw files to DNG, and then edit the DNG in CS5.
