PALM Tungsten E2 and Palm

I have two PDA that I don't know what to do with. I did a hard reset. They are sure to sell because of the information that HAD BEEN on them? Recommendations on what to do with them?

Hello and welcome to the HP support community.

You could send me your two Palms, I'll put them to good use

If you successfully Hard Reset devices, there is no data on them and you can sell or dispose of safely.  Mind you, it is unclear which is the another Palm device (one is an E2).  If your device is a T5, this device requires a slightly different procedure to Hard Reset.  Palm knowledge base Article has complete instructions for all types of resets for Palm OS devices:

  • Tungsten E and vista laptop: download software: 6.2?

I have my Tungsten E and now a new laptop with windows vista home. I can sync to the office were I have windows NT. What software should I download: 6.2?

Note: I do not use Outlook.

Also when the battery goes out now loses everything he is inside. Why happens? ¿Because is old?

    Thanks for the help.

Hello Superantartico and welcome to Palm forums.

I'll try to Palm Desktop 4.1.4e with the Tungsten E and Vista first.  If you can't make it work, I'll try to go with Palm Desktop 6.2.2.  Two versions of Palm Desktop will run without the need for Outlook.

I don't remember whether or not the Tungsten E has no-volitale memory or not.  It was released the same day that the Tungsten T3, I know has memory non-volitale.  The key is that, if your devices has no memory non-volitale, like the Tungsten E2 and TX have, then when the battery runs out, material memory of the Palm is lost.  This is why it is always a good idea to backup your Palm, by performing regular operations from HotSync with your computer.

If you need a new battery, PDAParts.com and UsedPDAParts.com offer spares and repair service at a reasonable price.

    Message relates to: Tungsten C

I could not get a driver working between the Tungsten C and Vista, but I managed to synchronize

the device via wi - fi with Palm Desktop 4.1.4e.  I have tried both an ad - hoc network

between my Palm and mobile, but also an infrastructure using my home network

router.  The ad - hoc network has been a bit tedious, I had to turn on internet sharing

on the Vista computer it would take on a private IP 192.168.0.1,

and then I had to manually set the ip address of tungsten under

    System->Preferences->Wi-Fi->network:->Edit Netorks...-> change...-> details...-> advanced...-> IP address :-> Manual

Then in the when I bring up the Hotsync Panel on tungsten, I select "network".

and enter the ip address of the vista machine and then the hot sync.  He

seems to be some problems with the VersaMail, which I don't use anyway, so I disabled the

    the synchronization of this request.

  • Tungsten E and Outlook 2007

I've been using a Tungsten E, I installed version 6.2 and the Updater from Palm Outlook Conduits but cannot sync my phone with my Outlook 2007.  He continues to sync with Palm Desktop.  I don't see the Outlook Conduits in my HotSync Manager.  How to make that happen?

6.2.2 version has built-in Outlook 2007 lines!  Yours is the third post I read about problems when a user installs this unnecessary update to 6.2.2.

I suggest a "clean uninstall" programming all related to the Palm and a reinstallation of the 6.2.2.

  • 2 tungsten E and 1 computer

Can I synchronize individually the two Tungstens E, calendar, and contacts using a single computer?  If so, how?  I spent two hours this am with the live chat which totally destroyed my info.  I appreciate the help.

    Greg

When you go to synchronize devices the first time it asks you to create a new name to an existing synchronization or user. Go to Hotsync on devices and look at the user name in the upper right corner, do they both have the same user name or different.

  • Palm Tungsten E2 desktop download for Windows 10

I have a new PC with Windows 10.

I need your help to find and install the appropriate software so that I can synchorinise with my PalmOne Tungsten E2 and to be able to access the info on my PC too.

I would also ask please indication of any installation/configuration that may be necessary.

    Thank you

Your only the most likely option is to download Palm Desktop 6.2.2 which is available for download in the first post of "stickied" on this forum.  I have not tried to install it on Windows 10. Check this thread.

  • What is the best solution to use a Palm Tungsten 2 on a Windows 7 computer?

Pushed by the end of XP, I bought a workstation HP Z230 running Windows 7 Professional.   I would get my Palm Tungsten 2 work, and I've heard several options here on that.

    Options

Use Palm Desktop 6.2 with Bluetooth for hotsync.  (I've done this with a laptop Win7, but I use the Notepad utility a lot with a few macros, which is unfortunately not supported on Desktop v6.2).

    B. use Palm Desktop 4.1.4 in a virtual Windows XP environment running under Win 7.  I know that I can do, and it's probably my rescue.  However, Microsoft suggests that you disconnect from the Internet when you use the virtual XP, as it can be sensitive to piracy because they support no more than XP.   This will be a further nuisance that I will probably forget to do.

    C. use the USB Aceeca driver to make Desktop 4.1.4 work.  I tried following the instructions here to do, but when Hotsync fails, he never appears as a triangle yellow in the Manager list of devices, even after I followed the tip to make visible hidden devices.  So I could not even try the Aceeca pilot with Palm 4.1.4 again.

    D. install the Aceeca Desktop 4.1 and update their driver.  I might try this (uninstall Palm 4.1.4 and install Aceeca 4.1) but it seems that it depends on the same procedure to update the driver as my option C just above.  So I think I can run in the same c dam.

    Issues related to the:

Someone at - it other ideas of how to get connected to Palm Desktop 4.1.4 Aceeca driver I could try?

Does anyone know if Aceeca Desktop supports the installation of Notepad if I try the D option?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Eureka!

I have now received Palm Desktop 4.1 to run on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and showing all the modules with my Tungsten T2 and without locking.

The breakthrough was all the things above (including run them as an administrator) and adding to it, turn off the power of user access control, as suggested in another post unrelated by Dean (aka WyreNut)

Here are the stops to run Palm 4.1 (not 4.1.4) on Windows 7 and synchronize with a T2.

    A. install Palm Desktop 4.1.

    B. when it tries to Hotsync and fails, look in the Device Manager in Control Panel and look for a reference to Palm with a yellow exclamation point in it.  Note: This palm reference appears only during a Hotsync.  Therefore, look right after a failure.  NOTE: If you do not see this device or the yellow exclmation point by it, you will probably need to uninstall Palm Desktop and start again.

    C. follow the instructions to install the driver of Aceeca instead of the Palm pilot.  (This is covered elsewhere on this site.  You must already have the driver downloaded and unpacked Aceeca and on your computer so you can navigate to it).  This should enable Hotsync to work.

    D. right-click on the shortcut to the program Palm Desktop 4.1 and go to the Compatibility tab and click on where it says 'Privilege level' and check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator."

E, go to the control panel and disable user access control.  I didn't find this by going to the Control Panel, so I searched help and got the information.   There is a slider control and who slide down.  You will then need to reboot for it to take effect.

After doing all these things, I am fortunately HotSync with my Tungsten T2 with its Palm Desktop 4.1 original.

  • Palm Z22 and GPS?

My son just got this Palm Z22 for me for Christmas! I've never owned a Palm before, so I'm a "Newbie Uber" . I tried to search positions, but so many returns and not quite good questions. I want to know if this Z22 has the ability to organize the windows mobile OS, as I see that is necessary in order to run a number of GPS programs. Anyone?  Thank you very much in advance!

Thank you for using the Palm help forums,

So basically you want to load Windows Mobile on the Palm OS, unfortunately it's impossible because there is no way to Flash the Rom to another OS. This would also seriously turn your gift in a brick. Now on the right to do, unfortunately using GPS on the Zire 22 would also be impossible since the program is too large and might not work properly on your device.

The Tungsten E2 and the Palm TX are much better devices to handle GPS software.

  • problems with my Tungsten E2 Palm reading is not my memory card more

I have a Palm Tungsten E2 and I now have problems with him reading the memory cards and I don't understand why because it was very good.  I didn't give up, nothing happened.

I have a 1 GB memory card that I use.  It's a SD Impact memory card

When I insert card it makes no noise and if I try to format the card it says No card inserted.

I also tried a new card, it's a 2 GB Sandisk card (did not know at the time that it would use only a 1 GB card).

Hope that was enough information for you help out me.

My only other suggestion right now would be to try another 1gig or smaller card to determine if the card is at fault.

I had 100% success with SanDisk cards.

  • Back to palm desktop from microsoft outlook?

    Hi guys

I'm not very technically gifted, so could you please help me (dummy mode!)? I have a palm tungsten e2 and I have recently been using microsoft outlook but I hate it, like an annoying message keeps popping up every 10 minutes. I want to return to the use of palm desktop to sync with my laptop. but I lost my disk startup, is - it possible?

    cheers in advance

Hi and welcome to the forums of Palm.

First some background: when installing Palm Desktop detected you have Outlook so it assumes you want to synchronize with it. This is why it is currently set up to synchronize with Outlook.

Now, the fix: have the Palm Desktop conduits. Here's how:

    1. On the PC, go to the Start Menu
    2. Select all programs
    3. Select Palm
    4. Select led sync PIM
    5. Select sync with Palm Desktop

Who will put the conduits to sync with Palm Desktop rather than with Outlook.
