Partitioning for Windows 7

Hey guys,.

I'm new to this whole concept of the original operating system. I have this Windows 7 shipped with the system on a single partition. I am conscious of having a single partition facilitates the recovery of the system from disk hard in case the computer crashes.

It makes me a disadvantage of having only one partition with all my data into it.

I wish I could partition my single drive in a couple of discs.

No idea how you could do...

Hello

Normally, if you buy a Toshiba laptop there is already a second partition on the HARD drive with the folder HDDrecovery for example if I m wondering about this, because you wrote also that Windows 7 is shipped with your system.

Anyway, the creation of new partitions is quite easy. It s the same procedure as in Windows Vista:

  • Qosmio G50 - second clone partition for Windows 7 upgrade

I have a Qosmio G50 with Vista Ultimate installed & I have 2 disks to upgrade to Windows 7.

Is there a way to use this 2nd partition cloned as the basis for the upgrade to Windows 7 & clone (with Vista) C: on another partition? In this way there would still be Vista to use for programs / drivers that are incompatible with Windows 7 & there will be a dual boot with Windows 7 option.

    Someone has it worked?

    Any help appreciated

Hmm I don't think that this works since you would need a license for the two OS simultaneously. Win7 upgrade license replaces the Vista license

    Hello

Currently, you have not enough space on one of the free partitions to install Windows 8.

Windows 8 requires a Minimum of 20 GB to perform a basic installation.

You will need to get one of the free partition managers who can perform a non-destructive partitioning.

I recommend the free Easus product.

EaseUS Partition Master 9.2.2 Free Edition:

    http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm

With this product, you can reduce the size of the c: by about 60GB, and then add this space to the (OEM partition). This gives you a disc of about 80 GB to install Windows 8.

  • We can establish a common partition for Mac OS and Windows Boot Camp

I'm new to Mac, so please excuse my ignorance.

I have a MacBookPro 11 mid-2015 with 512 GB SSD and 16 GB of RAM.

I have Mac OS X El Capitan and that you have installed 10 Windows using the Boot Camp utility on a 150 GB partition. I wanted a common partition on exFAT which could serve as a repository for my data either of the OS. My intention - 150 GB for Mac OS - 200 GB of data - 150 GB for Windows 10. How can this be achieved?

Earlier, after the Boot Camp, I reduced the Mac OS to 350 GB partition to 150 GB and released 200 GB. Formatting this turned me expensive because it stopped my Windows to start. Repair it was a waste of time and effort. I draw the hard Windows on a Mac is sensitive to changes in the partition.

In addition, is using Virtual Box better than Boot Camp? I don't have as much virtualized environments.

    Please advice.

You can connect an external drive of ExFat formatted. The OSX and Windows can read/write on a disk formatted ExFat.

A virtual machine has its advantages, as does a Boot Camp facility. A virtual machine allows the simultaneous OS, any necessary initialization to change operating systems. Data can be shared between operating systems more easily. Computer such as memory resources are shared in a VM for applications environment to run slower.

Installation of Boot Camp allows Windows to run in native mode by using all of the system resources, so apps will go faster. But to change operating systems, a reboot is required. It is more difficult to share data.

  • How can I create new partition for dual boot (Windows 7/Ubuntu)?

My Z580 came with 4 primary partitions: the Windows boot partition; Windows OS & data (C drive); a "Lenovo" partition which seems to have the drivers and software pre-installed (drive D). and an OEM partition that is used for key recovery.

I want to create a dual boot system, as if I had on my old laptop, so I guess I need to delete one of the existing partitions and create an extended partition. The best candidate seems to be the 'Lenovo' partition with the drivers and applications. Can I backup the data on this partition and transfer it to the C drive... or put it on a new logical partition?

Alternatively, it would be preferable to save the OEM DVD recovery partition, and then delete and create a new extended partition? I guess that means abandon OKR, but I'd still be able to recover Windows of DVDs (?).

I would appreciate anyone's help. I am far from being an expert or computer whizz, so if you can help, please keep it simple!

In fact, you can get if you only change the size of the D: drive. I guess that your D: drive occupies about 25 GB. You can delete this partition and shrink the C: drive as 100 GB (or any size you like) and you can create a new D: drive. This way you can use OneKey Recovery and install the second OS on a larger partition and yet once again, I suggest you create Factory Default disc before you do all this

  • partition on hard drive for windows vista Ultimate edition

Hello iwant to repartition my HDD = 160 gigabytes to install windows vista ultimate on it so I would like to know how to make the partition (C) for windows vista ultimate

You can decide yourself what size you want, superior to the minimum required by Microsoft, which is 40GBs (which is too little, in my opinion)

Use the whole 160GBs as I already advised you, or decide for yourself!

    Those are your choices.

  • I didt create a disk recovery for windows 7 Home premium, and I lost the original and the recovery partition

I didt create a disk recovery for windows 7 Home premium and I lost the original and the recovery partition, but I have still the product key and the same laptop that was originally installed with windows 7 copy and now im turning my laptop with a fake copy, how to restore the original copy of windows 7?

    Hello

You have certainly reduced your options

The only legal Windows 7 download available is now Microsoft, as Microsoft has stopped DigitalRiver Windows 7 ISO downloads.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery

But Microsoft only provides these downloads for Windows 7 keys to selling product at retail, not preinstalled OEM product keys (Dell, HP, etc.).

As you have licensed preinstalled OEM (Dell, HP, etc.), contact the manufacturer of your computer to order recovery media that they need to provide for a fee, if they still have them available.

Or you can also borrow the same exact retail edition DVD of Windows 7 and use your product key to reinstall.

    See you soon.

  • Windows partition for Ubuntu 8

    Hello

I intend to install Ubuntu 14 alongside Windows 8 and therefore need to partition the C drive.

My C drive currently has 212 GB of space, of which 154 GB is shown for free.

When I try to reduce the volume, 'the size of available shrink space in MB ' is estimated at 1 295 Mo only.

I tried to optimize/defrag/drive cleaning options just in case he would have made a difference, but it did not.

I couldn't understand why this is so, because I was expecting a bigger partition for the operating system that you are secondary.

It would be great if someone with the best insight could share their thoughts on this.

    Thank you

  • Is there a downside to the creation of a partition in windows on macbook pro? My gut says run away!

I went to the macbook pro away windows as much as possible; I have no idea why any company still working windows. Unfortunately I have hardware that is 'windows only' and I'm debating setting to the top of my macbook to be able to run it. Where my question. Any advice is welcome, as I said, my gut says RUN and simply use a second computer (windows at low cost version) when I need to work with the material.

Rather than create a Partition to Boot Camp for Windows, it is possible to run Windows in a virtual environment using software such as Parallels Desktop.

  • Network for Windows 10 controller

Looking for a controller network & drivers FaceTime HD camera for the partition of Windows 10 (end of 2015) of the IMac. 10 Windows doesn't detect the WIFI network of Time Capsule, does not detect Face Time HD integrated camera, does not recognize SD card reader built in, up-down scrolling of Apple Magic Mouse work and finally and above all, guard clock reset to a time zone unknown if I detecting or not.

When booting in OS EL Capitan, everything works fine.

Scoured the internet for 3 days trying to solve this problem without success. Both systems support the blame for the problem: "not our fault. Ask the other guy. Why did you buy an IMac if you want Windows? "and vice versa.

While I can connect to the internet by cable Ethernet's Time Capsule, I'm limited to stay within 6 feet of him. While the two manufacturers advertise ad-nausea, I can't turn on my home outdoor lights with my IPhone while standing in a pool in Dubai... Windows detects no connection WI - FI while I'm sitting 2 feet from the Time Capsule... which is similar to buying a Lamborghini and discover that it is only capable of 50 mph maximum speed...

Install Parallels this would solve. Start in the files of windows OS X and access... or it would create more problems?

  • Windows partition under windows USB problems

So, I created my windows 7 Home Premium on my mac, but I cannot get the USB to connect to windows to download all the drivers for Windows runs correctly. USB works on the Mac partition, it does everything just not on a windows. What can I do to fix this? Thanks for the help!

If the USB is not recognized by Windows, you do not have a USB driver. Please download Paragon NTFS for Mac trial, and you will have access to reading / writing on the Windows partition that allows you to copy the package of drivers on the Windows side. Start Windows, and run setup.exe from the package to the location you copied to. use a destination folder that you will easily recognize.
