Passage of the roles - ensures primary school

Hi all

We have a requirement in our environment to switch mode on primary eve. This is to stop the machine from primary database since it is now more than 350 days.

I have a few crossing the reg of doubts.

We have two servers

1 Server1-Prim - main database hosts with SID - LPBT

LISTENER - WITH SID-LPBT ON 1521 PORT WITH HOST = 80.0.1.187

TNSNAMES with entries for the two services LPBT and STBYLPBT

2 Server2-Stby - secondary database hosts with SID - STBYLPBT

LISTENER - WITH SID-STBYLPBT ON PORT 1521 WITH HOST = 80.0.0.240

TNSNAMES with entries for the two services LPBT and STBYLPBT

Our is a physical standby and passage procedure below of the manually using SQL commands instead of dataguard

Digital allows a primary and standby to switch roles without data loss.

No need to recreate the old primary school. Conducted for a scheduled maintenance.

Steps to follow:

1. check if primary can be switched to sleep mode

SQL > select switchover_status from database v$.

If returns the value "TO_STANDBY", its good to pass the primary role of Eve.

2 convert primary to standby

SQL > alter database validation to the transition to physical standby mode;

If the value is "ACTIVE SESSIONS" in step 1, then

SQL > alter database validation to the transition to physical standby with the stop of the session;

3. stop and restart the old primary as before

SQL > shutdown immediate;

SQL > startup nomount;

At this point, we now have two databases, such as the day before.

4. on the basis of data target standby, check status of the digital switchover. If the value is "TO_PRIMARY" then

SQL > alter database validation at the grade crossing;

If the value is "ACTIVE SESSIONS", then add "WITH the STOP of the SESSION" to above the command.

5. stop and restart the new primary database

SQL > shutdown immediate; start-up;

6. start back on new database (former primary) pending

SQL > alter database mount standby

SQL > alter recover managed standby database disconnect log file using current;

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My question is after the transition to digital, if we connect as 'conn sys@lpbt as sysdba' since sqlplus window from another pc, how the request will go to the new primary database server (80.0.0.240) since tnsnames only will point to the old principal server (80.0.1.187).

can you please explain how it works, or should we add a few more entries to the listener or files tnsnames.

Please notify

We have three databases and we use the db_links inside these three db for transactions

so can we not use as main stbylpbt, as db_links does refer to db_link-host - lpbt solve in tnsnames who will fail.

Yes, you are right. You have to re-create these links db to point to your new primary database ("old Standby") using guests as "STBYLPBT".

As mentioned previously, you must redirect all your applications and users to point to the new primary database by making use of the "STBYLPBT" entry TNS.

in this case, after the success, if we need to change db_names (vice_versa) and listeners as was before

You don't have to do anything with regard to the 'db_name' or with the listener. Db_name remains the same on the primary and implementing standby.

I don't understand the reason for you to change the listener. 1 listener on the server must be able to accept connections.

80.0.0.240 is your host before and there is a listener on this. After a failover, it becomes your primary database. You would try to connect to the new primary database with input TNS "STBYLPBT." It reminds the host '80.0.0.240' which is your new primary database. Hope this clears.

STBYLPBT =

(DESCRIPTION =

(ADDRESS_LIST =

(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 80.0.0.240)(PORT = 1521))

)

(CONNECT_DATA =

(SERVICE_NAME = stbylpbt)

)

    HI srp.

    As u mentioned above you are primary database server crashed.

    Now, you want to switch to mode ensures primary school.

    Use the following commands to go to primary school

    1 startup nomount
    2. change the mounting base pending;
    3. recover standby database managed disconnect from the session.
    4 recover managed standby database finish skip standby logfile;
    5 change the database for validation at the grade crossing;
    6. immediate cessation
    7. starting

    Otherwise, you need to activate the standby database using the command sequence

    SQL > recover managed database finish pending;
    SQL > alter database activate standby database;
    SQL > stop & start.

    As you can see in the below article written by Bhavin Hingu, where he named level DB_UNIQUE_NAME primary school with the difference that DB_NAME.

    http://www.OracleDBA.org/11gR2/Dr/11gR2_dataguard_RAC_to_RAC.html

    DB_NAME = BLABLA

    DB_UNIQUE_NAME = USA

    Is - this recommended? Do you think that it is good for the role reversals?

    If you want more information PackT has a new book of Data Guard - 'Data Guard 11 GR 2 directors' chapter 11 has a ton of information on DB_UNIQUE_NAME and best practices.

    The other thing to consider with DB_UNIQUE_NAME is how it might affect RMAN. Keep things simple, I say.

  • Used computers for primary school in South Africa

    I visited the PRIMARY SCHOOL of NOMPONDO in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa.  They need 40-50 computers for the computer lab they are building for children.  It seems as if many companies use Dell computers as a service now and their old computers are returned to Dell.  Dell has a program/person I can contact to bet used computers for these children?  Must be able to run Windows 7.  Thank you!

    I read that it was to recover and recycle plastic and metal. You could try emailing the goodwill and check with them. This is the US site, but it's a place to watch.

    Hello

    In fact, not quite "like." An ISP provides a primary internet connectivity to a computer/network, with often other services (e-mail, web and other accommodation). Latest BBs can, with no BIS-level service and with WiFi only, accessing the Internet fine for browsing the web and some other services. In addition, many can, with just a generic data plan, access the same things via the data network of the carrier. But certainly not BB exclusive services (e.g., BBM, email, BB Protect, etc.) works not at all... all the exclusive services of BB require subscription to a package of adequate data of the mobile operator.

    There are many different levels of BIS plans... There are hundreds of carriers in the world, some with dozens of different BB data plans available. Some provide email and social networks only, but not web browsing. Others provide web and internet, but not the social networks. And there are quite a large number of variations in the light of all the exclusive services of BB. But, in all cases, they are provided by BRI... then BIS itself is the overall framework of the exclusive services BB, with plans of carriers of data allowing the various combinations of these different services available... all depends on what the user subscribes to with their mobile service provider.

    Hope that helps!

    (SERVICE_NAME = TAFTESTSERVICE)

    )

    )

    TAF - one is the main stream.  everything is good.  We do a failover and TAF does its job.  Select continue, sessions already open before the work of swtichover very well subsequently without errors.

    However, no meeting again fails with ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress since the taf-one-us is now not the day before the main.  If I manually modify the AMT so that taf - two.us is first then it works fine as it is now the main.

    We tried (LOAD_BALANCE = ON) 1/2, but by the time we get the same error since it randomly chooses the standby address.

    is this what we can add to the entrance of the AMT so that if the address of the 1st operation fails, it takes the second.  understanding is that it is the default behavior, but it doesn't work like that.   We do something wrong?  We followed the code in Re: TAF on 11g DataGuard with FSFO

    I think I found the cause and solution.

    After some research (for example https://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28294/role_management.htm), I found that there was an additional trigger.  Failovers undergo a transition of role. Therefore, a relaxation on the role changes to start and stop the service as needed.

    The following trigger

    create trigger WHENROLECHANGE after DB_ROLE_CHANGE ON DATABASE
    declare
    v_role varchar (30);
    Start
    Select database_role in the v_role of the v database $;
    If v_role = "PRIMARY" then
    DBMS_SERVICE. START_SERVICE ('drrpt');
    on the other
    DBMS_SERVICE. STOP_SERVICE ('drrpt');
    end if;
    end;
    /

    now makes the configuration of the work.  Selects existing continues to work to pick up where they were on the other server, existing connections continue to meet, and new connections go to the correct server without getting an error.  When we make him switch to return chooses to continue to work and new connections to connect to the appropriate server.

    Note that this is usually done for logical standby, but we need for physical too checksection 8.2.1 perform a failover of a physical database from the previous day

    Thanks and greetings

    Hello

    The problem is solved now concurrent Manager is up and running after the digital switchover.

    Solution:

    After the passage of the database:

    ------------------------------------------

    Complete the Configuration of database:

    ----------------------------------------

    connect the apps/primaryapps

    SQL > exec fnd_net_services.remove_system ('HRDR');

    SQL > commit;

    SQL > exec fnd_conc_clone.setup_clean;

    run the automatic configuration on db

    lsnrctl stop STHRDR

    lsnrctl start STHRDR

    Synchronization of the application:

    -------------------------------

    disable the listener applcaiton both on the odes before running the automatic configuration.

    Run the autoconfiguration on cm node service

    Run the autoconfig on the node of the Web

    Check the node values using query below:

    ----------------------------------------------------

    Select nodeName in fnd_nodes;

    Select CONCURRENT_QUEUE_NAME from FND_CONCURRENT_QUEUES where CONCURRENT_QUEUE_NAME like '% FNDSM'; ---> to the result of the query, for me web node hostname only came so I ran script below.

    @%FND_TOP%\patch\115\sql\afdcm037.sql ---> this script updates the table with the details of the cm node

    now, it seems very well.

    Select CONCURRENT_QUEUE_NAME in the FND_CONCURRENT_QUEUES where CONCURRENT_QUEUE_NAME like '% FNDSM ';

    Then restart all servers.

    Now start the database and applications.

    Problem will solve itself.

    I got some info about the forum given by Dan to use split and join

    Have a question Dan if you can clarify please

    Responsible for M1 assigns tasks analyst a1

    then I call split so that the Manager M1 and A1 analyst sees same task which is nothing else than my jsp page in struts.

    How do we know that both Manager and analyst are done with task so that they reach the join return?

    Hello

    Once a the Split activity in your example, the Manager and the analyst reached work item instance each would have a copy of the work item in their Inbox because the Split has a transition to activity in the role of Manager and another passage to an activity in the role of the analyst.

    Once the analyst has completed its work, the copy of the work item flows to join activity and executes the logic in the join. Similarly, when the Manager has completed its work, their copy of the work item flows to join activity and implements its logic. Given that the engine keeps track of when all the copies reached the join activity, once the second copy ends the execution of logic in the join, the original work item instance let the join activity and continues downstream in the process.

    All this is done automatically by the engine when running.

The only way I could get is long, press the button on my Mac Pro and restart.

    The only reasonable difference that I know is that the Macbook pro is running Yosemites, while my Mac Pro running Beta El Capitan. I have a feeling, this is probably the cause, but I just wanted to know if someone has solved this problem somehow.
