Passport blackBerry password protect specific applications?

I have my work by e-mail, personal messaging and standard test for messaging on the phone and they are all easily accessible via the Hub which is great, except that I'm nervous if I give my phone to someone they can accidentally meet or send messages from my work account. Is it possible to add a different password to my email to work specifically? Whether through Apps or settings?

Not that I know from within the parameters of the operating system itself.

I know some apps in AppWorld to lock the Hub, I think you could search and find a.

It is called Lock for HUB, by AppsForBB

You can also set your own password for security on the device...

I have friends who might look like on my phone, but I don't think that one made the prvilege to sending emails on my behalf looking...

I would love to see RIM put up-to-date, or perhaps a third-party seller 'improve' the security options available on our BB. Here's what I'd like to see:

  • Password protect an external hard drive connected to Time Capsule

I have a WD passport external hard drive connected to my time capsule, so my wife and I can easily share files. I have the external hard drive connected through the locked time capsules WiFi network so someone in the House can not access however if they walked the time capsule and not plugged in the external hard drive they could walk away with it. When I try to password protect external hard drive then time capsule may not recognise, and so I can't use it as an external hard drive that is shared. No one knows how, to password protect the external hard drive connected to the time capsule as if someone physically stole the external hard drive it would be locked, but have yet still recognizable by Time Capsule when I plugged?

    Hope that makes sense.

The only way to do is to encrypt the files on the computer.

And you both use the same password. Unfortunately, this probably means that you can not share files directly... The TC is not a SIN... never, it was designed for this purpose so there no controls to help admin file sharing.

If you create a DMG file on WD drive that encrypt you and you can copy files to and from... but only one at a time.

Another method would be to use a specific software... Watch chronosync.

I don't him have not run in this configuration... so, you have to experiment if it manages what you want.

I think that there will always be limitations on concurrent access from multiple computers.

  • Palm Desktop password protection

Although I no longer use my handheld device Palm (Treo 755 p) I use the desktop app from Palm on my computers, mainly because I like the software allows for the protection of specific password of any given note, contact, or another entry.  When I recently added software for my new Surface 2 Pro 8.1 Windows running, it seems to work correctly.  However, when I tried configured for password protect the program, it shows that a password is not assigned and notes that I have to put a password in the device.   The device has a password, but I can't connect to the Surface either via USB or Bluetooth.   Apparently, the two are incompatible.  However, the kicker is that on my tablet running Windows 7, the password that I use to enter the desktop application is NOT the same as that defined for the device.   I don't remember how I put this on the Windows 7 computer, but I guess I had connect both devices.   Please help if you know of a way for me to use my password on the Surface without connecting to the Palm, or if you know how I can connect the Palm to the Surface Pro.    FYI, when I use bluetooth to try to connect to the Surface and the Palm, a password is generated for the Bluetooth connection and as soon as I get it, I indicate that it is connected to the Palm.  However, after about 5 seconds, it shows no connection.  The same result occurs whenever this is attempted.

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

Not sure about the problem of password.  There are several users in the program?  Could you be redirected to another by mistake?

Most likely the Surface runs a 64-bit version of Win8, correct?

You should see the message sticky at the top of this section on the 64-bit drivers USB for Palm Desktop.  This can allow you to Hotsync via a USB cable.

This is the first post I've seen on the synchronization to a tablet of Surface!  Please keep us informed as to the outcome.

  • How can I create a password protected folder? Also, how can I change the background in the files?

Well my question about his car, sometimes you have things in your computer that you don't want others to read or watch.
Once you put a password on a folder to prevent others to take a peek inside. No idea how to do it again?

Once when I had windows Millennium Edition, I managed to change the background image in the folder its self. so when you opened it, you could have your own custom folder. But now I must keep that boring white folder is still no way to do it?

As WinNT, Win2K, WinXP and Vista before him, NTFS in Windows 7
file security paradigm are dependent on, or allow, crude oil and
method heavy password for individual applications,
EAD, he uses the superior method to explicitly
Set file/folder permissions to individual users or groups.

As work around raw, you can place the file in a compressed
file and a password to unzip the folder to view/access its
content. In addition, some applications allow the user to protect by password
their specific data files. Read the help files for the specific application
For more information on this feature.

For your situation, simple action plan would be to
Create a user limited account for someone else who uses your computer,.
and set it up so it doesn't have permissions to access your personal data
    files.

    een this ability
with the use of the 3rd party applications. Certainly not Windows 7

  • Password-protected areas HELP

Hi, I am looking to be part of my website (under construction) password. It is in itself will probably be a bit difficult, but before I get ahead identify ways to do it, I wanted to ask if my intentions are possible...

The general idea is that the protected area should be accessible with MANY names of username/password or something else. Basically, connecting my Web site.

Access must also be purchased through PayPal. Is it possible to:

    1. using the email address of the (probably simple) client under the user name and sending them (again, probably more simple than allowing them to choose) a password to go with that to open a session?

2 AUTOMATION of my site to add these names to user/passwords as valid connections to what could be a vast list?

If the client process would be PREFERENCE:

Visit my Web site > > follow the link to PayPal > > operation > > email a password > > almost instantly be able to use this with their email address as a username for you connect on my site, so access to the desired area.

Any help would be massively appreciated! Please keep in mind that I know the basics of Dreamweaver, I'm NOT an expert! So relatively simple language or downloads to help etc. would be great.

    Joe

    Hello

It is certainly possible, but it will be a complex of the project using a
    database language aside and server.
PHP and MySQL, ASP and MySQL or MSSQL, ColdFusion and MySQL... whatever your
host supports and you more comfortable.

Basically, the process could be similar to the following (as an example):

You have a database that would e-mail, username,.
password, verification of payment and the unique identification number.
That would be filled by a combination of the information that the user has entered
registration or fixtures later in a form. Also a random and unique password
generated and a unique ID assigned when the form is submitted.
When this "sign up" form is submitted, it would check that the user name
does not already exist for another Member on the database.
If so, it would lift a mistake and saying "username already in use...". Come in
    "new password... etc.".
If there is no instance of this user name in the database, email
address, name of Member they wish to use, (temporary) payment, random password
check the 'no' and a unique identification number generated would be concluded
a newly created a record in the database.
Open a review page, in order to allow the verification of the user name, email
address, the ability to change these if the user changes of opinion or made a
error. There would also be the 'button' PayPal.
Think "see basket" and then "order".

Using language server-side, you would get verification of PayPal when the
    the payment was accepted.
You may submit the unique ID to PayPal so when PayPal returns payment
audit, it binds to this specific record.
After this verification, your side script server would alter the payment
verification of a 'no' to 'yes' in the folder database for this person.

As soon as an action, an email would be generated for the user by putting at their disposal
    with the password generated.
An email would be sent to you and informing you of the sale.
You need an email script and a script to set it off.

When the user receives the e-mail, he or she would use the log in form and
your script would be references in the database to make sure that the password corresponds to
and the review of the payment is 'yes '. (You don't necessarily have to
see 'Yes' because they do not know the password until it to change
'Yes' generated email, but additional security...)
The user must have the ability to change the account to change his
    email address or password.
The user must have the ability to click on a "forgotten password" link that
Opens a form where he or she can enter an email address and when sending.
    having the password by e-mail.
All pages are protected until a logged-in user and has been a session
    created.

There may be a few commercial applications out there to help.
Maybe Web help or possibly another application of shopping cart that works with
    Products 'Downloadable' or 'virtual '.

    Good luck

  • It is a way to password protect only certain iPhone apps?

I have a password to unlock my iPhone, of course.  If an application opens a Web site that requires a password, I enter after the app brings the websitet upward, but some sites Web does not require a password to enter.  I can add a layer of password to the application itself the blocks to reach the Web site unless there is a password entered?

You mean something like web watchman or net nanny?  Most of the sites don't consider basic information that needs protection so that they do not require a password for the home page.  But many require a password for an interaction more involved such as subscriptions or purchases.  Maybe I should ask who you're concerned could access an important non-protected site, and what information you are concerned.  In addition, Safari and other web browsers store passwords of Web sites for your convenience and it are in place, you gave permission to browser to remember the password on a device at any given time.  But Safari share this information across platforms.  Do you need help for Safari for entry of a password for some sites?  What are some example sites?

  • a router monitor can display of my purchases in a site like eBay password protected?

a router monitor can display of my purchases in a site like eBay password protected? If not, what exactly can a router monitor (on another computer), discovered on my wireless laptop? Thanks in advance for any help with this issue!

    Hello

    1. which version of the Windows operating system is installed on the computer?

    2. What is the exact application you're talking about?

Router monitor is a tool that allows you to control the router that you are connected to and see the other IP connected as well as other important details.  He usually don't know the details on a Web page he's been watching just the traffic lights. However, some routers have the ability to connect what websites is visited and how much time is spent and how much bandwidth has been used.

Therefore, you can also contact the manufacturer of the software for more details on the subject.

  • How to password protect my files shared on my network?

I am trying to share a folder on the network and the have password protected. I use Windows XP Service Pack 3 Professional. I have disabled in simple file sharing files Options. All my computers are in the same workgroup. For the record I would like to share, I have the following settings:

On the sharing tab, I 'Share this folder', filled in the maximum limit and the share user name. The "Permissions" button, I deleted "Everyone" and put in a username I've created specifically for the sharing folder connection and he gave total control. Everything is left to him by default.

For the Security tab, I just like default except added the user account, I created and that you have authorized for total control.

When I look at from any computer on the network, I can see the computer and shared folders in the working group. There is a default folder "SharedDocs" I open it. But if I try to enter the folder that I created, I get the following error:

"You are not allowed to access \\MYCOMP\SharedFolder. Contact your network administrator to request access.

If I do all what I said above, but instead of adding the user account, I put "Guest" or "everyone, then the file can be found on my other computers without the error but no password is invited. What should I do so that when I try to enter the folder, it ask for a login and a password.

As a side note, my other computers do not have this problem with their shared folders. When I click on the computer under 'View workgroup computers '. Rather than open a list of shared folders, it opens a prompt for a login and a password, and if they are correct, it will show that all shared folders and files shared to that user. If the password of the specific folders is not possible, should what settings I change so that it works like this instead?

My apologies if this should have been in the files, records and research topic.

When you connect to a network share, authentication proceeds roughly in this order:

    1. If the user on the remote computer is connected with a user name that exists on the machine sharing the passwords match, while the user is authenticated as himself without another guest.
    2. If the user on the remote computer is connected with a user name that exists on the machine of sharing and the passwords do not match, then this as seen user denied access to the computer sharing without prompting.
    3. If the user on the remote computer is connected with a user name does not exist on the machine of sharing, an attempt is made to authenticate the user "guest".  If successful, that the user connection looks like it is 'guest' on the machine of sharing user.
    4. If the remote user is unable to authenticate as a 'guest' on the sharing machine, then a name of user and password screen appears to provide authentication.

It seems to me to make it work as you want, you want to make sure that step 3 above does not occur.  This can be accomplished by disabling the "Guest" on the machine sharing account. (This forces everyone to authenticate on the machine)  Two ways to do as an administrator on the machine of sharing:
    (A) bring up a command prompt window (start-> Run-> "cmd") and enter the command:
NET user guest / active: No.
    (B) right click on 'My Computer'-> manage-> system tools-> local users and groups-> users
Double-click "Invited" in the right window-> Put a check in the box "account is disabled".  "OK" your way out.

    Hello JDG_SF, welcome.

These options are very likely controlled by your GP (Group Policy) settings on your domain. Due to the nature of the work of rights how administrative, there is no way to work around this problem, unless you have access to change group policy settings that affect all the machines on your network.

You would need to access or to change the settings of GP or find someone who already has access.
