A few ideas:

1 check the spelling on: p4_reset_the_password_on_first_login and make absolutely sure you did misspell it the same way as the element on the page
2. its an identifier of newspapers and other parts of Oracle have trouble understanding identifiers in addition to 30 characters. Make it shorter (it comes suddenly in water)?
3. check the value submitted for the password on the first connection point to make sure it's what you expect. I guess it sucks but check

  • force password reset after the first connection

    Hi all! I am facing a few problems that I hope you can help me with. I am the authentication of the APEX for my application - and I try to get my request to the user to reset their password after the first use of force. I thought that this should automatically - but is not (even if I use the integrated login page). So, I turn to you to see if you can help understand me what I miss. Thank you for reading!

    Authentication scheme: The authentication of the APEX, with a procedure of login after called check_pwd_reset. The procedure looks like this:

    /*

    PROCEDURE check_pwd_reset IS

    l_host_url varchar2 (1000): = apex_util.host_url ('SCRIPT') | ' f ? p = 53140:500:' | : APP_SESSION.

    BEGIN

    IF (apex_util.change_password_on_first_use (: APP_USER) = TRUE AND apex_util.password_first_use_occurred (: APP_USER) = FALSE) THEN
    apex_util.set_session_state ('FSP_AFTER_LOGIN_URL', l_host_url);

    END IF;

    END;

    */

    Login page: Default 101 - no change

    After (pg 102) login page: 2 password fields and a button "submit". The validation checks to see if the passwords match. If they do,
    then it executes the following process: apex_util.change_current_user_pw(:P500_NEW_PASSWORD);

    At the end of this process, he headed a branch of pl/sql: apex_authentication.logout(:SESSION,:APP_ID);

    Everything seems to work well - BUT my user (configured to change the password at the first login) is ALWAYS prompted to change their password after the first login. It seems as if the call to password_first_use_occurred never is true.

    To observe this behavior, please use customer user and password
    lisaf1: https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=53140:LOGIN_DESKTOP:104844892394198

    I still don't understand why the procedure did not indicate the flag correctly, but support for Oracle has been able to give me a solution. For those who are interested in the future - the solution was to set the workspace setting "require the user account Expiration and locking" to Yes.

    I didn't realize that this setting would influence the requirement for a user to change their password on first use.

  • Password reset button and change computer name

    If I do a factory restore on my computer I make another record of password reset? I use the same computer name as I did before; However, just for information, I do not change the name of the computer in the future I should make up another disc?

    Thank you

    Hello

    Please contact the Microsoft Community.

    Want to know if it is necessary to make a password reset disk after performing a factory restore. I'll help you with the problem. It's pretty simple. Let us work together towards a resolution.

    Please answer the question-

    (1) what is the brand and model of the computer?

    (2) you try to do a restore by using the disk or image?

    It is not necessary to make a password reset disk as performing a factory restore will return the computer to factory settings. You should clarify this point with the computer manufacturer, since they would be knowing the factory restore settings better than anyone.

    For your question about Windows 8, I would like to have return the item-

    Hello

    If you created a password reset USB device when you create your password first, plug the unit into the machine when you do not enter the password and it will automatically log you on.

  • Set the option 'Require the change of password on first use'.

    I can't get the option 'Require the change of password on first use' for an end user.
    I go to 'Manage the Application Express Users', enter and confirm a new password and choose Yes to 'Require change of password on first use', and then apply the changes. But still, it does not prompt the user to change passwords to log in. I also tried the account, then making the changes described above to lock and then unlock it, but which doesn't work anymore. Any ideas on what's not here?

    Patrick,

    When an account has the attribute to change password on first use , the user is presented with the dialog box password change only after creating a new account or when the administrator of the site use the link "Reset" at home > manage workspaces > manage developers and users, causing the password be changed and sent to the user. Regardless of whether the account has the attribute to change password on first use , the user is also presented with the password change dialog box when the account has expired, following the expiration of the explicit account by an administrator of site or workspace or of time passing.

    In all cases, the requirements to 'change' the password is really just a requirement to enter the old password and enter a new password (twice), which may be the same as the old password, condition that is not inconsistent with history of password restrictions created for the workspace.

  • Satellite L450D-11V - request password on first use

    What password you mean exactly?
    The password of the BIOS?
    The HARD drive password?

    Are you sure that you don't l t set or another?

  • Password reset disk only describes the use of floppy drive A (and they are obsolete). Password reset disk cannot be a CD-DVD, I can use a USB flash instead of the floppy drive?

    I wanted to create a RESET DISK of PASSWORD, but NOOOOO - my machine has a FLOPPY DRIVE. No product only the CD/DVD PLAYERS and one cannot change the a drive to a different letter designation.

    If you really NEED to do this, you are up the proverbial Creek, apparently.  Hard to believe!   How long has he given now that ANYONE used FLOPPEIES (small square disks)?  Certainly, we are asked not to believe that nobody is realized for this oversight!  I TRIED a CD/DVD - no dice.  My machine has 2 CD/DVD players, a Terrabyte Mobile with a slot drive.  My spouse has built this machine, and it is ensured that there are enough USB connectors that I could plant some tulips!  (It's photography & video editing - retirees have a busy life, that pays well.)  There are sites for readers of any persuasion EXCEPT the 1998 'PLACE floppy DISKS'.  Also, as with most machines, I do not want to return and crush things that my husband has a loading on the drives and call other than the names they bear within the network as things go well, otherwise.  We can't decide to call H Drive (CD/DVD drive), drive A, to say, just for the sake of my need to create a password reset disk.  My machine does not allow me to do things on the "fly".  I have to create a NEW one (and download something from those that already exist).  A ray of light shines through the same mess!  I think that maybe I can use a "USB key"?  Does not have a CD rom, but just explore, I ran across the words using a player instead of 'A' USB flash drive.  Hoping that USB key or "memory stick" is acceptable!

    Hi Janice,.

    If you are using Vista, please see the following: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/window-on-windows/create-a-vista-password-reset-disk-using-a-usb-flash-drive/547.

    If using Windows 7, please see the following: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/window-on-windows/use-a-usb-flash-drive-to-create-windows-password-reset-disk-in-windows-7/4142?tag=rbxccnbtr1.

    From what I read, it seems quite simple and easy in both cases.  And not worry about drive letters - it will take whatever drive letter you choose (or who has been assigned to the flash player).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • can you make a password reset disk on a computer and use it on another using the same operating system?

    One of my friends has forgotten his password and I was wondering if I could make the password reset disk for him?

    A password reset disk only works on the computer, on which it was made.

    What to do if you forget your Windows password

    If you have forgotten your Windows password and you are on a domain, you must contact your system administrator to reset your password. If you are on a working group (the majority of individuals are on a working group), you can reset your password by using a reset disk of password or by using an administrator account.

    Reset your Windows password:

    If you forget the administrator password, and you do not have a password reset disk or another administrator account, you will not be able to reset the password. If there is no other user account on the computer, you will not be able to connect to Windows and you will need to re - install Windows.

    Desktop HP Pavilion p6610f Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit installed Just the new hard drive and all the new updates and new programs etc.  I created the repair disk system and a full backup and wante to create a password reset disk. When I click on 'Create a password reset disk' in the control panal and I begin to follow the wizard, it asks me to put a key memory in drive F.  I don't have USB keys or disks if that's what is meant.  I was going to use a DVD - RW disc, but of course, I am unable to do so.  Why does say to create a 'DISC' in one place, and then when I go there, it says that I have to use a 'KEY' 'DRIVE F "?  If I buy a USB flash drive, which is identical to a key memory? And... I have several USB ports, none of them can be used with the USB to store data or memory?  I looked in the 'Help' section and he said just to click on "create a 'Disk' password reset. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

    Thank you for your time, but I already did the cover, back, vision of diagnostics and repair of disks.  I just asked why, when it is suggested that I create a 'PASSWORD' reset disk, when I start to do exactly that, the wizard tells me that I have to use a USB, 'NO' a 'DISC' and use the 'F' reader which I did not, (I don't think), I mean I know there are additional slots for disks , but I don't think I have other than those that I used to do the other ' Just discs in case where.  Just curious.  I have resigned myself to not do a. I wrote my password on a piece of paper and taped it on the underside of the top of a desk, where nobody would ever think to look.

  • I used a password reset disk to access the Password Wizard, whenever I have propose a new password, it gives the error message

    I used a password reset disk to access the Password Wizard, whenever I have propose a new password, it gives the error message "" an error occurred while the wizard attempted to set the password for this user account". I can't pass this screen and am virtually blocked the computer phone iam trying to access. What can I do? It comes to Windowns 7 Home Premium

    This probably means that your password disk drive is not up-to-date. Here are the other options built into Windows to help you get out of this situation:

    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
    • Log on to your account admin to spare, and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you set up an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (the password is usually empty).
    • Use the password indicator (only works if an indicator was created and if it's good enough to allow you to guess the password)
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)
  • Is it possible to make a password reset disk for windows 7 by using windows 8?

    Original title: password reset disk

    Is it possible to make a password reset disk for windows 7 by using windows 8. The reason why I ask this is because our Toshiba satellite laptop was stolen when our House was robbed. Fortunately the police recovered the laptop, but the password has been changed and we cannot use it. In the meantime, we have replaced the old laptop with a new one that has windows 8. I made a password reset disk using this, but it won't work on the old laptop.

    any advice would be great

    Best regards, Ian

    Hi Ian,

    You can create a password reset disk only when you are able to log on or access Windows 7 computer and after you have created a password for the same.

    Windows 8 password reset disk can be used only in Windows 8 computer where you created the password and not for Windows 7.

    You must create a Windows password reset disk before you forgot your password. You must also create a new password reset disk when you change your password in Windows.

    If you the administrator password are changed and is not a password reset disk or another administrator account, you will not be able to change or reset the password.
