Passwords are encrypted
(1) are encrypted passwords when being saved in Firefox?
(2) for the selection master password existing passwords are encrypted or just those registered after activation?
All passwords that are stored in a profile are encrypted in the local when profile a master password.
If a site uses encryption, then connecting to a site the password is encrypted. (https)

If I use the master password to access the sites, all my passwords are encrypted?

I thought that SSL/TSL implies a secure connection.
What it means to use "Normal password" vs "Encrypted password" in "Authentication method" when you use "connection security: SSL/TSL. One of the servers I use only accepts "Normal password", however, Thunderbird does not have the warning "server does not use encryption.Use of SSL or TLS means that your login and password, at least, are encrypted. There is no need to manually select the encryption.
As said, some service providers Internet supported the option of password encrypted in itself; When they care to do it correctly, they offer TLS/SSL. Passwords encrypted, when used, are usually offered instead of SSL or TLS. I think a weakness is that only the password is encrypted, so only with SSL/TLS, your username, your password and potentially all of your message is encrypted.
https://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Transport_Layer_Security
The key is that you can use to offer the provider ISP or mail. If they offer encryption, use it; If they do not, seek a better supplier. The server configuration governs what settings and options are in use. You cannot choose to use a feature that has not been enabled on the server of its operators.

How ATG BCC admin user password is encrypted in ATG10.2
Hello
I migrate data from external system profile to ATG. The external system uses the SHA256 algorithm to hash the user password. And ATG also uses the same algorithm. But I found that the string encodings are different in the two systems. So I customized the implementation for the hash of the password in the ATG. I guess that the same hashing algorithm of password to use in publication environments and CSC also for internal users. But the user "admin" is created when data is imported into the system, initially using script CIM. I think that the admin user password is not chopped with OOB implementation (SHA256) because I consider than salt password 'admin' in the table dpi_user in the edition of schema. Can someone let me know how the admin user password is encrypted?
Thank you
Mohan
Hi David,
My problem is solved. ATG uses the value of connection as its salt value password instead of generating a random salt for admin, merchandising, users of the services.

Suddenly all of saved passwords are gone on my pc. How can I get back them?
All saved passwords disappeared suddenly. It's there, but I restart my PC and open my Firefox and none of them are there.
How should I restore them? The extension 'Remember password' has been reported to cause problems with passwords disappears, so if you have this extension and then remove (uninstall) it.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.
- Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

You would need a copy of backup of the files logins.json and key3db (eencryption key) If passwords are really gone.
You can check the logins.json file to see if the file contains documents from password. You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:
- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)

All my passwords are gone after the 32,0 even if privacy set to "remember history".
I used Firefox because it was introduced and he have to remember my password for as long as it was possible. Suddenly, last week, after the upgrade 32.0, all my passwords disappeared completely. I have the privacy settings on ' Firefox will be remember history. Why they disappeared, and how can I get back them? Is there anything harmful, I would be worried (could they were stolen)?
I am Windows 8.0 on a computer running 64-bit with 4 GB of RAM/1 TB HDD. Today, I upgraded to 32.0.1, but passwords are still missing. I have active Sync.
In an odd twist, I've updated to 32.0.1, restarted FireFox and still no password.
HOWEVER, after I restarted the computer, and then open Firefox, NOW my passwords appear (although, curiously, my open tabs were all closed).

The only way to prevent that I found so far is to close Firefox. When I opened to the top, go to the website, the user name and password are empty. It didn't happen with previous versions of Firefox.
You can set the Boolean signon.autofillForms false pref on the topic: config page.
This can also be caused by cookies that are not removed correctly when you disconnected.

my user name and password are saved on my webmail site. How can I remove them so they don't pop up when I go on the site? I use cox.net webmail. Cox tell me it's a firefox issue. So, here I am. Can you help me?
Hey, Julien
Go to Tools-> options and on the Security tab click on passwords saved. This will give you a list of sites that you have saved a password. Just found your site and delete this entry.
There are a lot of useful information in this article on the Firefox Password Manager. He should answer any other questions you might have.
You can also delete cookies from this site in order to make the site you not forget if you have created a remember me cookie.
- Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".
Hope this helps!

I uninstalled aurora and now all my favorites and passwords are left of firefox 4, how can I recover my bookmarks and passwords?
Sorry you have coming.
See the attached screenshot. If you selected the option to remove my Aurora (nightly minefield, Firefox) the personal data and customizations you deleted all your profiles for each version you have / had installed. You can try to use a program for recovering files, like Recuva, to see what can be salvaged.
The bookmarks to the file places.sqlite , or among the backup of bookmarks Favorites-aaaa-mm-jj.json files (10 are stored). Regarding your passwords, you need the file signons.sqlite and signons3.txt file.
