Paste text pre-formatted in indesign

Hello

Im not moving forward with indesign, but I had some familiarity with quarkXpress... in any case!

I work for a newspaper annonse and I had an online application and the user put his announcement and I get the text (.txt file) formatted ("BOLD", font, color etc...) so I copy and paste into the indesign layout, but the text is not formatted, how can I do to paste the text and its format?

Preferences > Clipboard handling > and click on the radio button to paste formatted text. On Mac, you can find some prefs in InDesign on PC under Edit menu.

    Hi all

I'm trying unsuccessfully to paste text formatted in InDesign CC (2015)

    I tried the following:

Preferences ()Clipboard handling > option button for pasting of formatted text) in InDesign are defined to manage information. No chance!

I tried with different formats, .rtf, .doc, etc., using the show import options when placing the text. No luck.

Can someone guide me in the right direction?

Sorry about the URL, try this: http://www.lynda.com/InDesign-tutorials/Using-Word-InDesign-Together/122930-2.html

I use the current trial of Acrobat DC version. I opened a PDF I created in Corel Draw by publication in PDF format. I tried to copy and paste text from it to a Word 2007 document. The copy option was available, but when I went to the document and chose paste, it was nothing. I then tried the same thing but sticking in a document of Corel. The same problem. It seems that the text has been copied, but I'm unable to paste it into another program. Is this real?

Is it permanently available text? (Can highlight you)?

This seems a strange way of working well - why not copied from the draw to Word?

  • Copy and paste text formats, but not real text

Is it possible to copy and paste text formats (type, size, color, position), but be able to edit the text? Right now, when I copy and paste text and change the text, it replaces all the other texts that one. I work with a lot of videos in Adobe Premiere elements 12 countdown, and I wish I could stick all the texts on the video, then change from one to 10, 9, 8 and so on. Thank you!

What computer operating system? If you do not already have it, you must update 12 in 12.1 using Help Menu/updates to date of an open project.

    But your question immediately...

After creating a text title in the Titler and close titration module, go to Expert active project workspace, the tile it for this title a right click and select duplicate from the pop-up menu. Then drag the duplicate of there to the timeline. Double-click the duplicate on the Timeline to open the titration module where you edit the copy. Repeat this for additional titles. Copy paste is not the way to go on this. You've seen the consequence of this with changing a text title change all the.

If please review and then let us know if this worked for you.

    Thank you.

In one of the inDesign tutorials instructor pulls up what looks like an application bar that contains among other things a text editor to cut and paste the copy into the inDesign project.  That is a feature of inDesign, and how is it accessible?

The instructor used the App Switcher on Mac to switch to a text editor and copy this text editor text. InDesign is not the active application.

  • Pasted text does not inherit existing format

Isn't this awkward I am paste plain text and it does not inherit the existing format?  My experience with publishers of documents the pasted text inherits always the existing format, in that it is glued.  If you accept it, it is recorded as a bug or I'll do the honors?

    Thank you.

It's a bug known, said - but thanks for the report.

  • Y at - it a plugin or something that can insert pre-formatted objects?

    Hello!

I'm a fan of science fiction journal. I write and design.

When I say 'object' I mean a group of components that work together. For example: A title, signature of the journalist, the text and other elements (like the graphic elements for some special objects, such as reviews or illustration).

I keep these objects to a master page, but as new formats are appearing, it gets a little crowded. I thought about opening a new master page and copy - paste the new formats it.

Where I work they have software customized as you enter a "figure" (it's what they call it) and pasted the object required with everything in place. For example: if I need a 5 column title, I must type "title5col" on the software and it should paste this object formatted meadow, the box title, subtitle, the signature box and the text box, with the right size and the spacing between the boxes.

Is there a plugin or other who does something like that? That contains my items and I can call them when I need them, instead of copy - paste every time masters?

I hope that I was clear. Any question, ask away. Thank you very much.

Sounds like a good option for you would be to Snippets.

Instead of copying and pasting the text individually, please try right-click on the menu bar, and then select the option ""copy text formatting to > all breaking points " and let me know if it works."

  • Creating a page of my Web site that allows users to fill out text fields, with basic formulation tools (text sizes, formatting, etc.).

Hey, I would like to create a page on my Web site that allows users to fill out text fields, with basic formulation tools (text sizes, formatting, etc.).

Another thing I need to allow users must be able to upload their own graphics to the pre-assigned fields. Thank you please advise me on how I would go to this topic.

Nothing to do with the Muse. You need a system dynamic as Joomla, Wordpress, Drupal and so on. Otherwise, there is no way to store your information.

  • Is there a way I can add alternate text to links in Indesign cs6?

    Hello

I need to put a lot of (> 1000) hyperlinks in my indesign document. Is there a way I can add alternate text to links in Indesign cs6?

The idea is to then copy - paste the links by using the search function.

So far I had to manually ad text in acrobat.

My document is supposed to work like this: when a person reads the text and does not include an underlined word, they can click on it and it is brought to a dictionary into the document.

The document must be accessible to people with disabilities.

No automatic way. The problem is that each hyperlink typically has unique text. Therefore, there is no way to really automate it. You can see a sanitation such as by Netcentric Technologies Commonlook product. It is generally used for the protection of the files for accessibility, but it may include the ability to more easily add the alt text in hyperlinks. It would be well done in the exported PDF file and still not in InDesign.

  • Pasted text changes its attributes

With the help of v.8.0.2 ID CS6

This seems to be a bug which, as much as I did the research on, has not been set, or found a workaround for... And I don't mean simple creation, 1 documents page (I create ads for most), which involve no style sheet.

If copying and pasting text, or even a text box from one document to the other, when one of them is anterior to another and their "basic character format" (under the paragraph style > standard paragraph) is different - the text changes, or (in the case of Zapf Dingbats, see below), it becomes "unknown"...

A good example of how buggy it is: now my default font is Helvetica Neue LT Std 57 condensed.  I copy text from an older document, which has Minion Pro Regular as is the Format of base character. The text has bullet points, using Zapf Dingbats and Garamond. When paste them into a new document Garamond is stuck OK, but dingbats appear as boxes of the unknown and the font name shows as Zapf Dingbats [condensed 57] (see below), I have to do to switch manually to 'Ordinary'...

Why do we not change constantly the definitions in order to avoid that such stupidity? There must be a better way to say ID behave, or other...

  • Cannot copy and paste text in Photoshop CS6

I am not able to copy and paste the text from non Adobe (such as Keynote or Word) programs in Photoshop CS6. I get a read error message "could not complete the command paste text as data from the Clipboard is empty or not valid." I have tried to close Photoshop, close other programs, restart my computer, my setting preferences and ask the Adobe help by phone and chat. I'm on a new iMac and I have no third-party plug-in installed. Can anyone help?

Photoshop for some reason any sometimes don't like the formatting of the text in the Clipboard. Paste the copy in TextEdit or something similar and convert it to plain text. Copy to the Clipboard and it should stick fine in Photoshop.
