• Variants: How to assign a new value without alteration/losing its attributes?

  Hello

  I work with data varying with some metadata stored as attributes. Data values change frequently, but the metadata values are fairly constant.

  I am looking for a way to update the value of a Variant while preserving its attributes (or equivalently, transfer the old attributes to a new variant). I know that I can read the attributes of the old variant and insert them into a new, but I imagine that because many variants in a tight loop is a waste of cycles CPU - that is a legitimate concern? Is there a cleaner way to do this?

  Yes, maybe it's a job for a technician. At the same time, hold down SHIFT key and use the <- or="" -="">arrows to highlight the text and then hold CTRL and press C to copy the text and then hold CTRL and press V to paste the text.

  I'm converting a site office to a sensitive site. I have a master page and a page master B. Each page has several lines of text in the navigation links to internal pages. I started with a breakpoint of 1240; redesigned the page and made the footer nav 2 lines. Done the same breakpoint breakpoint 960 and 1024. In each breakpoint, the navigation footer text block is pinned and set to NONE when resizing. When I go to the next breakpoint of 770 I want to change the text of 3 lines. When I do this by placing a hard return, it makes OTHER breakpoints for the same three lines I want to change them. I have the tool text defined on only ONE FORMAT CURRENT breakpoint, but it still makes the others. Then the program gives me an error code: inconsistency of text stream in the block of text U1217 breakpoint 960 px. and then crashes. Even if I had 960 runs and I was about to stop 770, I get the error code for the 960.

  As a work around, I deleted the entire footer navigation links text box and tried to use only text plane, perhaps thinking that it has something to do with navigation. He continues to change the text in the other breakpoints. I tried this several times and I get the error code every time now. I had to go in a time machine to make progress yesterday because multiple versions of recovery were causing other issues.

  So at this point, all I want to do is change the two lines of type in three lines of type navigation text on 2 of the 5 stitches. Other breakpoints in 2 lines.

  I even deleted the page text block master B could have some elements tied to her Master A page to make sure. Still have the error code.

  All text in footers resize set to NONE.

  Hi Ben,

  While the Muse supports different formatting of text in all breakpoints, it does not support different structure/content of text through them. Returns and characters are part of the content and will be shared through breakpoints.

  Have you tried to hide the ball in the smallest breakpoint by changing its color to the [none] swatch?

• Copy and paste text formats, but not real text

  Is it possible to copy and paste text formats (type, size, color, position), but be able to edit the text? Right now, when I copy and paste text and change the text, it replaces all the other texts that one. I work with a lot of videos in Adobe Premiere elements 12 countdown, and I wish I could stick all the texts on the video, then change from one to 10, 9, 8 and so on. Thank you!

  What computer operating system? If you do not already have it, you must update 12 in 12.1 using Help Menu/updates to date of an open project.

  I am new to structured FrameMaker (and FM as well).  I was editing my colleague DITA XML files in FrameMaker 10.  I have

  usually open a file variables.xml first, then I opened the individual xml files to change, using Track text changes.  Now, I opened the ditamap of these files (for the first time).  Then I clicked on one of the xml files in the ditamap edit, and track text edits it looks like that is to analyze the file of ditamap for several minutes, then displays this message: 'finish enable Track Text Edit in the map '.  It won't let me choose the xml file to edit.  It works fine as long as I do not open the ditamap.  Anyone know why?

  You should get the message "Finished activate Track Text Edit card." only when you click the Activate button in the text track changes toolbar or the menu track text changes. You do this?

  If Yes, then probably the field drop-down list on the toolbar changes to text of track (left down) has "DitaMap' selected (selected default sound when DitaMap is open). To enable track changes to text only in an individual XML file: click inside the XML, choose 'Document' in the drop-down list scope, and then click Activate.

  Just for you information, with a scope of 'DitaMap', if you click Activate, it allows a track text edits in all its child xml files. So, no need to open each xml file and click Activate for each of them and instead can simply begin to make changes in their and they would be subject to a follow-up.

  Preferences > Clipboard handling > and click on the radio button to paste formatted text. On Mac, you can find some prefs in InDesign on PC under Edit menu.

  Thanks clbeech I actually found an easy way to do it. For your dynamic text box, you can click on the 'html' box in the Properties window for the text box. (Its a small square box with this <> inside her and it's just right out of the box single and multi-line dropdown.) You can then select the text you want to change inside the text box and change its police/size/color, but also that it becomes a dynamic link and it will do so without affecting the rest of the text in your text box.

  OK when you open firefox go to file > Page Setup > ladder.

  Change the size of the scale and see if it makes a difference when you print.
