Pavilion 15-p030nr: HHD on SSD w / cloning for HP beat edition special 15-p030nr

Hello.

-J' bought my laptop when it was Win 8.1.  When MS offered 10 win I accepted this offer.  So, there now earn 10 (64-bit).

-After several attempts, I've never had success doing my 1 copy backup allowed the operating system... before or after the upgrade.  I came to the part to set 6 DVD or an external Flash memory.  I bought a new external hard drive and tried.  It has plenty of room, but it was never acknowledged.

-I want to install an SSD, but worry about the migration of the operating system.

-J' have instructions on how to replace the hard drive, but I would like for the migration of readers.

((- Someone can help me with: 1) get a good backup prior to the beginning and 2) a step by step guide?

Thank you.

    Hello

I recently found this laptop agreement in newspapers, so I looked online. However, I am not really sure of what exactly the product so here's the site I'm trying to buy from: http://www.costco.com/.product.897664.html

I hope it's helful to know more about this product.

The appearance of this laptop really caught my eye because I really like the color red. Also knowing it's a touchscreen phone which has a backlit keyboard and especially beats, bothers me really tempted to buy it. But, before you buy this lapotp, I want first of all to know its compatibility. I'm mostly concerned about processor it is because I intend to replace the current processor, Processor AMD Quad-Core A8-5545 M (1.7 GHz), with a Processor Intel Core i5-3210 M (2.50 GHz).

Now my question is this laptop would be compatible with Intel Core i5 - 3210M (2.50 GHz)?

I did some research on this subject but I just couldn't find the answer and so I really hope you guys can help me.

    Thank you

    Hello

You cannot change the processor from AMD to Intel, the system board sockets do not go with the other.
You may need to change the whole of the Council itself, in addition, the processor would be very probably integrated card.

But I think the AMD CPU to this laptop is good enough & it gets good reviews

My Pavilion dv6 3050ej laptop support SSD?

If so, should I pay attention to something special when choosing my SSD drive model?

    Hello

Yes. Samsung 850 Evo SSD is currently available in the market good.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-DV6-entertainment-notebook-PC-series/4150017/model/4212919/document/c02435719/

You can either clone (using the Samsung migration tool or tools 3rd part), factory reset (with the support of HP recovery) or pure install (if you have the disc to install Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit, and you can clearly and legibly read all 25 characters of the activation key of the product to the rear of your laptop).

Move all your personal data on the external HARD disc before the cloning.

  • How to re-enable loading the recovery partition after stock mSATA SSD HDD cloning?

    Dear community,

This weekend I managed to install mSATA 80 GB Intel SSD on my older X 220 of 1 month. With the help of the Intel Data Migration Software my HARD drive 320 GB stock has been cloned on mSATA SSD 80 GB with the downsizing of the system partition main Windows7_OS (66GB instead of 287 GB) and the preservation of the windows loading partition SYSTEM_DRV and ThinkVantage Rescue & Recovery partition Lenovo_Recovery in place. Later, I removed the HARD drive to stay on the SSD system only for testing purposes.

While Windows loads fine, the BlueButton seems to be a malfunctioning now: instead of loading the partition of ThinkVantage Rescue & recovery it shows me the message of Windows loader telling me that it cannot find the target system more. What's wrong? Is there a way to remedy this?

NOTE: When I'm pulling HDD inplace and pushing the BlueButton then R & R support very well! It seems that ThinkVantage seeks R & R partition on the disk instead of SSD.

    Thank you!

OK, answering my own question: Reinstall ThinkVantage Rescue & recovery could help as soon as it re - initializes the boot partition as well.

  • HP Pavilion 15-p211ne: upgrade to ssd drive

    Hello

I recently bought a new HP Pavilion 15-p211ne and I want to replace the optical drive with ssd drive, I have the following questions:
1 should I put the SSD as a secondary drive and reinstall windows, or it must be primary?
    2. What is the right size: 9.5 mm Universal SATA 2nd disc HARD SSD Hard Drive Caddy for CD / DVD-ROM optical Bay or 12.7 mm
    3. is there an official Universal SATA drive 2nd HARD SSD Caddy drive for CD / DVD-ROM optical Bay of HP, and is it safe to install no hp caddy on my new laptop computer.

    Kind regards

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

It is a 9.5 mm optical drive. See page 63 for removal instructions. You can use any optical drive SATA 9.5 mm hard drive adapter tray. HP is no 'official' part, so you must use a version of alternative, and they are widely available. Try jacobsparts.com.

However, the SATA interface for the optical drive is slower and will not support booting from the hard disk into the adapter. So I advise you not to put a SSD in one of these adapters because it will not run at full speed.

The optimal configuration is an SSD as main boot drive and a mechanical drive in pure storage adapter.

Unfortunately, access to the hard drive inside the laptop is a little difficult and potentially void the warranty if you mess up anything in the process. The manual contains instructions to access the hard disk (p. 88), and these videos show the removal of the top cover (on a closely related model) which is the hardest part:

  • Organizer in Ps 11 refers to former locations of SSD after cloning

I recently installed a larger SSD in readiness for a move to W7 SP1 (64-bit) to W10 pro (64-bit). I cloned successfully the old drive and have gotten W10 now works successfully on the new SSD with all my programs, including Ps11.

During the upgrade, only the new SSD left connected, but I reconnected now the old drive of W7, I want to keep until I'm sure that there are no hardware conflicts or software with W10.

Ps11 run successfully under W10 on the new SSD when only this drive is connected, but as soon as the old SSD is connected Organizer seeks to this drive for the location of my pictures. As I have full backups on an external drive, I was happy enough to uninstall the old disk Ps11 and remove all the pictures of this player. Unfortunately it is not enough to deter the Organizer from the old location. More when you try to re - connect the inputs of the album and manually to point to the current location Organizer refuses to reconnect on the grounds that "the file already exists in the catalog".

I guess I forget something obvious - unfortunately, it is not obvious to me!

    Any guidance will be appreciated.

Maybe it's not easy at all, but this is a natural consequence of the way in which the Organizer acknowledges the disks. And cloning and reuse disks automatically will deceive the Organizer.

The reason is that the readers are well known of the two criteria in Windows: the drive letter AND the serial number of the drive. Now, both drives have the same serial number in the "volume_table" of the database.

The organizer can recognize only the location of the data, if the drive letter and the series are not changed and it will not reconnect if two drives have the same serial number.

    Read more:

    http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/#_Writing_File_Metadata

You will never be able to work properly with the Organizer if you have two drives with the same serial number.

On the other hand, while a catalogue record can be stored anywhere (its content is not changed), it will show that everything disconnected if the letter and the series are changed.

The right way is to do a full backup and restore once the serial number problem has been resolved. It is possible to change the serial number, as indicated in the link above.

  • Pavilion DM4 - 3090 Beats Edition - could not retrieve the BIOS update failed

    Hello everyone.

I was trhe proud owner of a HP Pavilion dm4-3090 Beats Edition until two days ago, when I updated my BIOS, but I was unable to power on the laptop again. The system simply feeds the button WE and the Wifi (F12), HARD drive turns a bit, DVD player makes a noise and powers of fan on any USB flash drive connected to power system; but only for a period of 1-3 seconds.

This process is repeated every 2 to 3 seconds.

I have vain tried to restore the BIOS from the HARD drive (the HARD drive has not changed, I have still the partition HP_TOOLS in), with key combinations: Windows + B, Windows + P, Windows + Esc, Esc + Fn, Fn + B, Fn + P, four arrows. I also tried to do this via USB flash drive (with UEFI tool provided by HP), put some BIOS downloaded HP in the root and the current, New records and previous USB drive, once again, in vain. The laptop seems forever trying to read the USB key, just it under tension and that's all.

So my question is if you please tell me what I do wrong and also, is there is another way to try to get it back.

Thank you very much in advance.

Resolved to send to a third party service for a reflash BIOS.

  • Pavilion dm4t Beats Edition: CPU temperature

I applied thermal paste two times for my processor Intel Core i7 - 2640M CPU (Sandy Bridge 4 MB L3 Cache, TDP of 35W).  I cleaned the cooling fan and followed the instructions of cleaning and the applications of the dough.  I used the thermal paste BD hardware House.  I also use a deep Cool Multi Core X 6 Notebook Cooling Pad.

The fan continues to run at high speed when I'm on the internet, usually when viewing videos.  Subsequently, Firefox or IE slows to a crawl and do not answer.  I think it's due to the temperature of the CPU.  Norton 360 can't find any issues and regularly optimizes the computer (Pavilion dm4t Beats Edition).  I downloaded an app to CPU temperature and saw as high as 90-95 ° C time.

What is the good thermal paste to use?

Don't you think that the temperature of the CPU is the casue of the internet software issue?

Y at - it an upgrade of the internal fan of higher capacity?

    Suggestions, please.

I cleaned the fan & events last weekend.  Everything was very clean.  I actually empty the events each week.

I looked in the Task Manager while using Firefox & followed the CPU temp:

Firefox was using 38% of the resources CPU & Flashplayer 10% with the CPU 44% charged and with a temperature of 90 c.

I also orderd thermal paste another (GELID Solutions GC EXTREME).

  • HP HP Pavilion dm4-3002ea Beats edition, the strange fan noise

Hey guys first post so sorry if this isn't the correct procedure to indicate the problem or the right section!
I have a HP Pavilion dm4-3002ea beats edition laptop, bought about a year and a half (so out of warranty).

Now, the problem of the half that I have is a terribly strange fan noise coming from the laptop ONLY when it was hibernation, it is Purring away while I'm typing on it now, fan works fine, no overheating or issues like that, I can game, leave it on for hours etc its perfectly fine. The only problem is in hibernation it! I always put in hibernation in order to keep all my work of University ready to leave when I'm back on it, with all my tabs and such always opens on the sections, I need. It is very good that he hibernates without problem. Its when I go and turn it back on, it makes a vibration noise which I assume is the fan for about 15-20 seconds (?) as his recovery after hibernation and then is perfectly fine once more. He never did this noise after the sequence of the hibernation, or when I restart it. It's awfully strange and something I want to just make sure is not a real problem that I need this laptop for my university work. I can only assume, is the fan that makes noise, but it could be the HARD drive maybe? Not too sure on this one. He never blue screens etc, the HDD works fine so I'm really at a loss here! Any advice would be appreciated.
Also I tried to clean the air fan, but I did not dare in disassemble correctly yet because it looks pretty complex of youtube, resembles access sick fan have to jump off the keyboard and the back which is a lot of effort. But if it goes bad opens and take a peek! I would like to know what it is, but I don't want to tinker with the bowels, as I used to do with my old laptop so its something stupid that is easily fixed! Also I always Hibernate it instead of closing it down, but being quite computer should not do lasting damage, I'm good? I mean he puts just the data disk HARD ready to be accessed the next time I turn it on? But hurt close more if this will help!
Another quick problem which is pretty stupid because it is a HP Beats edition... half the speakers do not work on the right side of the laptop! Ironically, good! I'm not too fussed as its plugged in speakers on my desk, most of the time, but still it's pretty boring, as well. It creaked and went off one day and then he jumped several times on but now seemed to give up! The other side works well, reinstall all drivers etc to make sure that it isn't is not material, so I guess a loose cable? Pretty stupid, really, but still I guess another reason for me to break open and get to the bottom of this! As laptops out of warranty and I don't really want to take to a store of the laptop, in the hope of an old House of the noise of the fan if possible challenge! Speakers aren't that big a deal as always half works very well.

    If necessary, these specifications:

    HP Pavilion dm4-3002ea
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Intel i5 2450M 2.50 Ghz processor

12 GB of Ram (I have added 8 gb on ago about 6 months so the amount)

    750 GB HARD drive.

    Congratulations to all!

    Hi Jack_DM4

If I understand correctly you are updated, but we have still the sound issue only with the laptop not on devices so it looks like that the speakers on the right side of your laptop may be missing and vibration is still ongoing with the fan, but only when it starts first to the top that looks like a balancing problem.

These two problems are hardware related but will not cause any damage to your computer. The speakers can be replaced if you choose by contacting HP here parts store and you place your order of new speakers and their replacement. If you are under warranty I would get fixed under warranty.

The problem of vibration is just the fan rebalance itself when it starts first to the top once it gets to the speed of the passing air forces hovering in the centre of balance so he and when he settles down if imbalance. If you can deal with noise very well, otherwise you can order a new one from the link above HP parts store.

If you are still under warranty I would strongly suggest that you get the notebook repaired under warranty as you may void the warranty if you open the notebook. If this is the case

I think it would be best if you contacted technical support HP for repair options.

Link US support for contact options for portable computers purchased in the United States.

Link to American support outside of the contact options for laptops purchased outside the United States.

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums and please feel free to re-post if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great day!
