Pavilion 17: HP Pavilion 17 Wireless icon missing
After leaving for a few days that I came home and the wireless in the tool icon shows status bar now a monitor with a record and I can connect is more wireless. Usually, when I click on the wireless icon (it looks like on a cell phone coverage bars) I see networks in my neighborhood but no display occurs now. Pavilion p6020a wireless network card
I was bequeathed a Pavilion p6020a under Vista Home Premium. The family of the deceased could not find any documentation, or an installation CD.
The label on the side includes an indicator and the statement 'surfing the web with built in wireless b/g networks. I have to attach any device such as a receiver to allow the PC to access my existing wireless router, or one such device is already built? The label implies it is already there, but the installation sheet suggests otherwise.
I'm definitely no expert and approaching my 75th year, unlikely to become one.
You are the very welcome.
You don't need to buy anything, if you already have a wireless router.
If your router is broadcasting its SSID, you would connect the p6020a to your network wirelessly in the exact same way you did for any laptop that you have connected.
There should be a wireless icon on the lower right side of the taskbar, and when you mouse over it should be wireless connections are available.
Click the wireless network icon and select your router from the list, enter the security code and your PC should connect to the internet.
Please see this link for more information.

For pavilion a6030n wireless network adapter
Can anyone recommend a card for my Pavilion a6030n wireless network? Maybe a good router too?
Based on the specifications of your HP Pavilion a6030n desktop, you can use the traditional PCI cards and more recent PCIe wireless. In addition, you can also use an adapter without wire/USB dongle, if you do not want to open your computer.
I would say get a dual band 802.11 wireless network card b/g/n at least, but you might want a wireless 802.11 adapter ac its better range and throughput. With respect to the router, I suggest to get an ac wireless router.

My pavilion dv2418nr wireless light stays orange
My pavilion dv2418nr wireless light stays orange, you don't go to the Blue will not recognize the connections surrounding neighborhood. ISP says that the router is fine, this is the switch of the laptop not allowing the card read wireless connections. HP tech told me plug Ethernet from the router to the laptop... I got on the internet very well... but it isn't a hard connect. Anyone had this problem with their switch? I think that until this little light turns blue, I have better luck. Thanks for your help
Hello
Try a Hard Reset as follows.
Shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery. Press and hold the power button for a minute. Reinsert the battery, connect the power adapter and start Notepad.

It s always advisable using the pre-tested Toshiba original drivers and no other pilot. The drivers that you can find on Windows update are pre-tested for your system if I don't install them. Just use the drivers Toshiba on page and everything will be ok.
The FN keys to install the package of added value and utility to Support Flash Cards.

Wireless icon not is not turned on.
We have two laptops, one with Windows 8.1, the other Windows 7. When I installed the driver of a HP6700 on the 8.1 it was successful and the wireless icon has been lit. Then when I installed the driver for the laptop with Win 7, he also managed but the wireless icon turns off. But the two laptops are able to print all the same. Is this normal?
Amateur golferHi PapaDT ,

Please let me know if you can now print from your Windows 8.1 wireless. Please leave the printer and unplug the power cable, after a minute, you can maybe plug the wireless light and back will be back. Maybe it's just a little hiccup.
Yes the printer work with Windows 7 even if the software is not installed. You must use the-OS driver. However, have the software installed, it is not what is causing the problem.
I would like to help and will be happy for once I understand very well. Thank you for your patience. I am firmly convinced of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Forgive my application, but given that you can print on both computers, why not leave it as it is?

Covered by the generic icon missing icons
http://oi58.Tinypic.com/10pmwjn.jpg
As you can see that if you look at the provided photo shortcut on the desktop icons are covered by the generic icon missing and I can't seem to solve this problem I tried to change the icon that changes just the icon behind the missing icon. I also tried clearing and or deleting the iconcache.db helped several ways nothings. I have also scanned against viruses and malware and found nothing im using mcafee and malwarebytes anti-malware. shortcuts on the start menu are very good in the way, in case you're wondering. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 perfectly up-to-date.
If you need additional information please let me know and I'll try to provide it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Kevin,
I wish that you open the elevated command prompt and run these commands.
ie4uinit.exe - ClearIconCache
Taskkill /IM explorer.exe/f
DEL "% localappdata%\IconCache.db" /A
Shutdown /r /f/00 t
This will rebuild the icon cache.
I would like to know if it works for you.

My office wireless icon is x'd - cannot detect wireless networks.
My computer screen suddenly went black this evening - the monitor was still, the fans were still humming, but it was totally insensitive.
I forced a stop, and when I rebooted the computer, my wireless icon has been x'd out. My computer cannot detect wireless networks (there are a half-dozen or more in my building). I tried a good stop and restart, but the problem was still there.
The Network Diagnostics tool told me to check the router, so I did--but all other devices in the House are connected very well. I thought it would be a malware, so I ran a MalwareBytes scan, which turned up nothing. Then I reinstalled the drivers from the card WLAN - no luck there.
System Restore has not solved the problem. ipconfig says "media state: disconnected ' for my WIFI adapter, but I don't know how to fix this. In the devices, the Broadcom WLAN card Manager, he says "this device is functioning correctly.
I work from home, so it is important that I can access my wireless. Help, please!
