Pavilion d4650y desktop with motherboard P5BW - THE seeking to upgrade processor?

The type of card mother socket is 775 and in the card mother specifications this document states that you can upgrade to Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, and I was wondering if I could pass it to an Intel Quad Core 2 Duo, specifically the Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q9550 2.83 GHz LGA 775 socket?  If you get the same size of socket you can install any CPU to the motherboard or does it have a 'CPU ceiling' eventhough it of the same socket, but more carrots and faster processor?

Thank you

Trevor

I looked at the HP Site before making the CPU to upgrade to purchase (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01925562) my office.  I bought an AMD Phenom II x 4 processor clocked at 3.4 Ghz.  When I installed the CPU and try to start, I have a unknown, computer processor stop error.  From what I can tell on the HP site, this processor should work with this motherboard.  Any suggestions?

Please provide the role other than whole or number of the plateau of the AMD processor for our review. Only 3.4 Ghz AMD Phenom II x 4 processors I know are the 125 watts Note: AMD Phenom II x 4 965 Black Edition and the140 watts Note: AMD Phenom II x 4 965 Black Edition. None of these processors are compatible with the Violet6 motherboard in your system. The card mother Violet6 is intended to be used with processors up to 95 watts. In addition, "Black Edition" CPUs have discovered clock multipliers to be used in overclocking, but does not support the Violet6 overclocking motherboard.

Please consider these 95 watt AMD AM3 processors except CPU 'Phenom II X 6' and processors ' B #

  • HP Pavilion 6340: HP Pavilion 6340 Desktop with Windows 98, said "Not found operating system".

I have a desktop HP Pavilion 6340. The operating system is Windows 98. (Yes it's old). I have not used it in a while but it has been in a local clean and clear. When I turned it on with the hope of finding some articles that I had out there in Microsoft, the following appeared on my screen: "operating system not found '. I have the original HP Pavilion recovery disk (there are 2 of them). My question is: can I reinstall these discs and NOT to lose any Word or Excel documents that are out there.

I try to avoid big costs back to Best Buy. Hope someone out there can give me some advice on this.

  • Pavilion G7: Desktop Applications cannot access the Internet but metro apps can

I have a Windows 8.1. About 5 days ago from desktop applications (IE, Chrome, Google Drive Office) has ceased to be able to access the Internet at all.

However, apps of metro (metro IE, Facebook, Mail, etc.) can still access the Internet.

How could it happen? That the two environments use different settings? Is there a setting or registry entry that applies only to the desktop environment?

Analyses of viruses and malicious software (Malwarebytes and Windows Defender respectively) were not able to do what anyone. But since they are two desktop applications they have not been able to update their files of signatures since this problem started.

I found the answer on the Microsoft site on this topic.

The answer is to reset Winsock using this command from an administrator command prompt: "netsh winsock reset" and then restart.

I did and that fixes the problem immediately.

  • The issue of upgrading processor on HP Pavilion DV5 (Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 @ 2.00 Ghz) No. 1138...

From this thread because I have to say how confused I'm on processor options for my DV5 1138

I want a Quad Core, or at least a faster dual core... but my main question is if I can use one of the Intel Core i # series processors. Anyone happens to know? I think that my type of socket is P (478). That's what he said when I ran a test CPU-Z on the laptop. Or can I go in i # Core-series so I have to stay with the Core 2 series?

    Thanks in advance

Ur stuck with the core 2 duo.

But this isn't bad at all. Since you have CPU - Z.

See if you have the GM45 and PM45 chipset.

    Sound on the mainboard tab.

If you do, you could go with a SLGEE T9900 processor.

    Its 3.06 GHZ, 6 MB L2, 1066FSB and a TDP of 35 watts.

    Its an expensive upgrade...

    Hello

I use my windows 7 Home premium 32-bit for almost 3 years and recently I want to improve my current windows Home premium 64-bit because I want to install more RAM for games. I have intel i5 processor, so install 64-bit should not be a problem.

However, the problem is, I don't have that the geniue windows 7 home premium 32 bit DVD when I bought my PC that has the 64-bit DVD version has not been given.

Good thing is, I found the link to the content of Digital River from microsoft to download the iso image of 64-bit Windows 7 Home premium 3 GB.

    My question is:

My family version of Win7 32-bit premium is the traditional Chinese version. I'll be able to activate the 64-bit win7 using different regional versions of family win7 premium 32 bit key providing I install on the same computer?

    Thank you.

Yes! You can activate Windows with the same product key!

  • HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook B1W88EA #ABU of the Windows 8 upgrade to 8.1

Hi, I tried several times to upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1.  Whenever I get the message restore you pc to an earlier version of windows (maybe not the correct term).  I made sure that I have all the current updates installed.  Any ideas please?

    Hello

Do Option 2 in this tutorial to check corruption of system files:

  • Pavilion, Windows 8 desktop computer, none of the external speakers. internal speaker?

How sound my desktop computer Pavilion, Windows 8, with none of the external speakers?

It says no driver installed audio internal speaker.

Where can I download the audio driver appropriate?  Which audio driver would it?

When you request support, please provide the full model name and product number (p/n) of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq made thousands of computer models. Without this information, it can be difficult, even impossible to help you solve your problem.

The information requested above are on the side, back or bottom of your computer, or on the BIOS boot screen. Please see How can I find my model number or product number? for help more to find this information. DO NOT include your serial number. Please enter the product/model information consumer HP Online Support page and post it here for our review.

You get no sound without external speakers of a certain type. Your HP desktop computer doesn't have the internal speakers and therefore requires external speakers, before that resonates. Please buy a set of external speakers for your problem.

  • Adding features USB 3.0 for a HP Pavilion p6235uk desktop pc

Hello world. I have a HP pavilion p6235 desktop PC uk. The OS is Windows 7 Home Premium.

These are the MS-7613 (indio) anMS1 motherboard with a PC1 expressx 16 slot for graphics card, three PC1 express x 1 slots and location minicards.

I don't know if the PC1 express x 1 slots are empty. This pc model has only USB 2.0 ports, but I would buy a USB 3.0 external hard drive to store an image of the computer system and regularly back up the existing files.

I know that due to backwards compatibility I can plug USB 3.0 drive into a USB 2.0 on the PC. But then I get the speed available with USB 3.0.

For that I need to install the hardware on the PC. I know that this will include a 3.0 PC1 USB expansion card, I think it is called. But it may be that I will need other elements, except that I don't know what they are.

It depends on the PC, but this is as far as I know. I read that sometimes what we call a Molex plug is necessary, but now I've really exhausted my store of knowledge.

Can someone help me? Thank you very much.

    Laurencewithau

    Hi laurencewithau,

Right, you can use any of four unused pins connector. Or, if you have no connector four unused pins available, you can buy a splitter. Unplug the connector to four used pins and place the splitter on the connector. You will now be able to set a single branch of the four-pin connector to its original location and have an extra unused connector available to power the USB card.

  • HP Pavilion p6110f Desktop PC graphics card

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion p6110f Desktop PC, what is the best graphic card for this computer for gaming? Thank you

It seems reasonable to me. I think that the 460W should work but if you can get a 550W for just a little more, you should consider it.
