  Try a hard reset with the printer, then conncet the cable USB and scan again.

  Hard Reset:

  Take out the toner cartridges.

  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall

  Wait for 30 seconds

  Plug the power cord into the printer and the wall (be sure that the printer is plugged into the wall and not a surge protector)

  Replace the toners/cartridges in the printer
