  Recently, my friend gave me his old laptop, an HP Pavilion DV6700.   I own a Pavilion dv6700 (fairly old I know) that I was getting a message in windows that wouldn't be not the battery, even if the power was good. So I decided to make an update of the BIOS of F.45 to F.58A. Updating, during the countdown final 10 sec until you restart the laptop, the computer has lost its power and close.

  GO then I am unable to power on my laptop... None of the techniques described on the forum seems to help me... I disconnected the battery, I had checked the charger, I checked it using a voltmeter, I plugged in a different bracket, I did a hard reset, I tried to start using the Win + B / the combination Fn + B, but nothing happened. I see no led turinng on!

  Is there anything else I can do?

  This looks like the end of the road for your laptop unless you are ready to invest in alternatives.

  You can have the replaced systemboard. The cost of a motherboard and the man hours to replace the current value of the laptop, on the other hand that would make a bad investment in my book.

  It is a disc of 7200 RPM of 500 gigabytes for under $ 50. It is almost as fast as any hard drive mechanical regular, you can buy. I suspect it's bigger than the original. You may spend more to get a 750 gig or a 1 to, but it looks like you don't need large capacity. This one is 7 mm (ultraslim) but will always be adapted to your caddy. SATA connectors and mounting holes are in the same place as your original drive. I believe your original drive has a plastic on the SATA connections connector and you must reuse to connect the drive to the motherboard.

  It is my first time please post here, so be nice, people...

  In any case, the problem started when I re-installed a Windows 7 operating system (32-bit, I think) on my HP Pavilion dv6700 with product number KN947UA #ABA on Monday. I could download all the usual stuff - Cleaner Windows, VLC Player, etc - but when it came to install a sound driver, the device will be not simply to accept the installation of the program, I downloaded.

  I remember well, I have this problem when I started to install Windows 7 on my laptop; I was able to download and install a RealTek program - I didn't know what version it was, but he just ran without a hitch on the laptop.

  I turned on my computer yesterdsay and everything went normally, I logged in but then the mouse pad or the keys for volume and all that would not answer. The screen would work normally thought, like a video youtube played. Next I went to turn my computer off because I thought it was a minor bug of gel. However, now whenever I try to turn on my computer, the screen remains black no matter what I do and no response buttons except the power button. The screen has absolutely nothing about it, and I don't know what to do. I know that the computer is running, as I hear it, but really nothing works. There are a lot of files in that computer, as I had for about 4 years now, and I'm a little desespered. Is there something to do?

  Try a Hard Reset as follows.

  Shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the power button for a minute.  Reinsert the battery, connect the AC adapter and see if the laptop boots.

  Yes, it is a fully native SATA (ahci) system and an SSD works perfectly. With Windows 7 operating system will know it is a SSD and activate the TRIM and other optimizations to the SSD. It will be a version SATA slower that curent models but you still benefit greatly from an SSD. You must update the BIOS on this model, but not because of the SSD. There isn't quite enough important updates BIOS for this model which correct some problems of initial material as the fan operation and resume the suspension.

  Out of all these details with the player (RPM, 9.5 mm thick form factor of 2.5 in) those who MUST be included in the replacement drive?  Can I install a 3.5 inch drive?

  1. the speed can vary - that is to say, you could install a 7200 RPM 320 GB hard drive.

• Pavilion DV6700: Windows 7 windows update fails to repair

  New EVO SSD 840 with the new windows 7 x 32, which replaces the old HARD disk drive and Vista.

  Everything works well and connects every time from the boot, but windows update continues to work forever.

  I used the fix from Microsoft windows update, but get this error every time, attached.

  I have a normal home via the WiFi connection turned off and tried to use the cable connection and always the same.

  Other computers to fine day.

  Without VPN, no proxy.

  I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook and Windows Update code error 0x8024402C.   Note Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

  It is recommended to disable all Antivirus software, while trying to make the updates.

  You can also skip the update if you have the software update that is already installed on your laptop.

  I have a dv6700 (dv6810us) and run W7 x 64 on it very well.

  The only thing I can't confirm works is the microphone and webcam.  My dv6700 does not have a webcam and I have never tested the microphone.

  Most of the Vista drivers will work on W7.

  I am facing problem with my laptop microphone.

  When you use Skype, I'm able to hear the voice of the other person, but my voice is not audible on the other side. I also did the test microphone on Skype where you talk and Skype records voice and it reads. In me is the transmission of the message to check your microphone because there is a problem.

  You said the microphone worked in the Echo test, but then talk that he did not work with the headphones on.  Was it another microphone or fact it work and then stop working again?

  Do you mean the microphone works, but you do not hear through the headset and it didn't sound at all through the headphones?

  Skype shows the headset as output instead of speakers?

  If you disconnect the headset and use the built in mic of the system, the sound works then?
