Pavilion G4-2127tx: upgrade of RAM Maximum for HP Pavilion G4-2127TX

Hello!

I just downloaded CPU - Z to verify my information system and found that 2 of my RAM slot is empty. Is this correct? And if there are 2 slots would it be possible to buy another for slot 2 and increase my RAM from 4 to 8G? Thank you very much

Upgrade success with all the problems, you will need to purchase two modules compatible 4 GB guaranteed memory.

The problem is that you must install the memory modules that are identical in every single respect.

Otherwise, you are probably very disappointed when the laptop does not start in Windows.

Purchase memory modules well known froma manufacturer of memory. (Kingston, Crucial, Corsair)

I have a Tablet Lenovo X 230 (Type 3434) with 4 GB of RAM with a processor Intel Core i7 - 3520 M with the original intention to upgrade the RAM at a later date (it is two years now). He currently runs two operating systems: Linux Mint 17 and Windows 8.1. In fact, I timed the start and stop of the two operating systems and concluded that Linux Mint 17 was faster than the upgrade of Windows 8.1 (improved to 8.0 which has been upgraded to Windows 7). Microsoft friends of my friends say I need more RAM (they also said I should switch to a SSD drive to eliminate noise noisy fan the heat from the laptop).

I would like to install a maximum amount of RAM on the computer, which I believe is 16 GB (although the Intel specs say 32 GB, but I think that it is based on what is programmed on the software of the bios of the motherboard says it's 16 GB). I understand that there are two slots. I did not open the laptop yet (prefer having the right part ready to go first). So here's my question:

Can I buy a 8GB and a 4 GB to 16 GB in my already 4GB laptop or am I have I need to remove the old RAM 4 GB chip and plug two memory chips Live 8 GB? I'm from the old school where we used to add RAM was in the 1990s, where we were forced to install RAM chips in couples with equal amounts (which I am happy that this old method is no longer needed).

You can add 8 gb stick to your own 4 GB (make sure you have an installed stick). Or replace the software 4 GB 2 x 8 GB. To your choice.

Of course, type of memory should be the same as you have if you decide to add a bar of 8 GB - pc3-12800 1600 mhz. Do not hunt for memory pc3-15000, the gain is minimal.

X 230 (t) specification says as portable supports the voltage normal memory (1.5V). Actually x 230 support low-voltage 1.35v memory too.

It is not recommended to mix sticks with schedules and different tensions. Usually, it's the last symbols within the p/n, CL9 or CL10 chain. Look for details to any diagnostic tool.

The page of the product on this site indicates the max memory 8 gb, but on ubuntu linux, analising DMI terminal indicates 16 GB memory of the maximum amount of od, so I would like to know if can install two modules of 8bg each 16 GB of total memory.

  • Question: Upgrade of RAM for my HP Pavilion Media Center m7480n

First of all, I want to say hello to everyone on the HP Forum community and thank everyone for their help and support since his arrival at the Forum.

I have a HP Pavilion Desktop Media Center m7480n:

    Card upgrade memory:

    Hello

That your PC has two free memory slots, and you bought ram DDR2 533 MHz 2 GB (1 GB x 2) memory. Compatibility should not be a problem. You have the right type and the amount of RAM in your PC. Once installed, it will take the total of your system's RAM to 4 GB. However, the caveat is that 32-bit operating systems can use only 3.25 GB of the 4 GB installed. This is a limitation of the memory address. Most of the personal computer world continues to use the 32-bit Windows XP/Vista or 7 versions.

Upgrade from 2 GB to 4 GB would be beneficial for people who are heavy multitasking and running many background applications. In the field of heavy multitasking, the processor (CPU) begins plays a more important role, as an increase in the number of cores (e.g. upgrade of duals to four hearts) will prove beneficial, that simply increase RAM. I think that 2 GB of RAM should be sufficient for basic multitasking averages. Even most PC games benefit much from 2 GB to 4 GB.

However with the RAM being if pricey as it is these days, it never hurts the Pocket to upgrade. As you have already purchased the RAM, go and plug it by all means, you should see a marginal improvement in performance. You can check this document before you install the memory modules: upgrading memory (RAM)

    Hope this has been helpful.

    See you soon!

  • Pavilion 15 ab292nr: alternatives for upgrade of RAM 8 GB 693374-005

I just bought the signature edition Microsoft bank book and want to upgrade the RAM. My model is Pavilion 15 ab292nr.

I checked the manual which is the same that the Pavilion 15 star war edition, it says that I need is 693374-005. However, it is a little difficult to find the exact part. I was wondering if there is no alternative that can be compatible with this laptop?

BTW, I found 693374-001 on Amazon, which is supposed to be compatible with the "selection" of HP laptops. Here is the link:http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-PC3-12800-KTH-X3CL-8G/dp/B00D74FQ0U/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF...

    Can I use it?

    Thank you.

The Amazon, we'll be fine. It's Kingston, and since they sell compatible with HP Ref. you are protected against the incompatibility. Kingston will stand behind it. Just do not get the value of RAM Kingston. Many users have had problems with this memory in HP laptops.

    2. What are the reference number of this RAM?
    3. In which case reference numbers are not available on the local market, are there alternatives available?

    TIA

    The manual says:

Supports up to 8 GB of memory system

You would be able to use any DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM (i.e. portable computer memory). It must be low density and which means 8 black blocks on the side of the chip as a module in the image.

It's a older laptop maybe 4-5 years ago, you know? Also if you really 32-bit Windows 7 above you will not be able to add effective memory. It takes the 64-bit version to run 4 or more gigabytes of RAM. Care say that this model comes with 3 GB of RAM and 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium so do not know what you have now.

My motherboard says it supports up to 16gbs (since I am running Windows 7 64 - bit), and I'm trying to figure out what I should update.  I scanned my pc on Crucial and they gave me a bunch of suggestions, but I still don't know what I should buy.

    Hello

You can install any combination of RAM you want. It's your laptop.

However, HP has released the amount of RAM that the motherboard and BIOS support and you are aware of it.

You will have better results in your experiences if you install only the modules of memory capacity.

You can be the first person to try two 8 GB modules and report success, and on the other hand, if you think that it didn't work.

Remember that there is no guarantee that your laptop will boot into Windows with 12 or 16 GB installed.

BTW... There is no 6 GB memory modules manufactured.

    Best regards
