I have a HP Pavilion Slimline computer s5000 running Windows 7. I want to add a second monitor. Do I need to add another compatible video card to run the second monitor (the second monitor is a 42 '' Vizio LCD TV), or the new video card runs two screens?

  • HP Pavilion 510n - adding the Second hard drive?

    A few questions...

    1. is there a size limit for any player second, I would like to add?

    2. What is the procedure for adding the second disc?

-J' added a second drive to an OLD pc before and it involved linking the second slot on an IDE cable, change the jumper on the slave drive settings, and modify the bios settings... it would be similar?

Hello TSobiech, it is always best to ask to order a part that is not compatible with a certain system.

The hard disk that you show the link should work perfectly. Even if it's an ATA100, and your system supports ATA33/66, this disc should still work but will be downclocked to ATA66 speed.

Here is another link to a 250 GB IDE HDD if you might be interested.

You won't notice much, if any, degradation in performance to the difference in speed. These IDE drives are higher than the price a SATA with the same capacity, but they are becoming harder to find.

Since you want to be using as operating in car system, but just a backup drive, they want to make a difference.

If you want to make use of the full speed of ATA100, you could add a map of IDE controller supporting ATA100, but I really don't think it would.

Since you mentioned the intermediate layer of IDE as not being used, you can connect the new drive to this connector.

Now, there are a few things that you should check that you install the new hard drive. These are the connectors of jumper on hard drives.

This is the very small plastic with metal inserts, at the end of the hard drive where are the other connectors.

I always use the CSEL (CS) on two hard drives. Readers may already have jumpers to this setting (jumpers connection), but if not, you must set two hard drives the selection of cables (CS).

Since the current IDE hard drive is the boot hard drive and an ATA66, it must be connected to thin ribbon cable connector, as it is now, and the new hard drive attached to the middle connector IDE. The slowest speed of the two hard drives will result in two hard drives running at the slower of the two speeds. It will work very well.

You need to partition and format the new hard disk before it can be used. This can be done from Windows if necessary.

    I hope this helps.

  • Adding a second monitor to MBP

I have a MBP end model. I've set up an external monitor. What I see on the screen is the same thing I see on the screen of the monitor MBP. I would like to put in place so that they are two separate screens. In other words, where I'll be able to drag things from one screen to the other.

In display settings, I have mirrored. I tried both ways, in and out of mirror mode. But the two ways that I always see the same thing in both monitors.

    Can someone please?

    Thank you!

In display settings, I have mirrored. I tried both ways, in and out of mirror mode. But the two ways that I always see the same thing in both monitors.

    Clear the check box

    [√] mirror displays

the available pane should get one like this:

It is the main display (with the menu bar) is arranged to the left of your secondary display. and their tops are aligned. You can have the same background on each, but open a window and things will change.

If you have the displays placed differently on your bench, drag the icons to reflect the correct relation in space.

The mouse moves freely across the border between the displays and can drag a window with it.

  • HP Pavilion a6750f: problem dual monitor (Second monitor not detected in DVI input)

Hello everyone, I'm going to by a problem of not being able to setp toward the top of my second monitor.

I own a HP Pavilion a6750f with an ATI Radeon HD 3200 card on board running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit operating system.  In the back, I have two VGA and DVI inputs, VGA works, but when I connect the other monitor which is connected to a DVI adapter on the back, Windows does not detect any.

I tried to go the DVI adapter to the other monitor and noticed that it refuses to work. I will note that my display drivers are all updated and I activated the option of customization to detect the second monitor, nothing shows up, it will not be the same acknolowdge that there are several screens.

I think it's weird that I don't see this problem being issued when I was searching for a resolution on google for hours now. If someone can help me here please I would be very happy.

Just to remind you try to connect a VGA (analog) monitor to a DVI - D (digital only) output on the computer. This is never going to work as analog and digital are two completely different incompatible signalling methods. With the help of an adapter DVI / VGA passive is the problem that these cards may work with DVI - I or DVI - A output... not DVI - D.

    Wikipedia - DVI;

"More digital, the DVI connector includes pins that carry an analog signal compatible with RGBHV signals in a VGA connector. This allows a VGA monitor be connected to a passive adapter and offers a universal solution for the DVI interface. The analog pins are the four that surround the apartment or cross the blade as shown on the right side of the diagrams below. »

    8 analog vertical sync

    C1 - analog Red
    C2 - analog Green
    C3 - blue analog
    C4 - analog horizontal sync
    C5 - analog ground

Note the absence of the pins on your computer and your so-called card C1, C2, C3 and C4. Without these pins is not just going to work. Still, there is no way to get an analog VGA monitor to work with your digital DVI - D only output using a so-called DVI - D to VGA. You may be able to buy an asset DVI - D to VGA Converter, but this will be expensive and cannot provide a poor video image quality.

As you said, the HP f1703 monitor supports only VGA. However, based on the specifications, your HP w2207h 22 inch LCD monitor supports the entry to a VGA and a HDMI input. HDMI and DVI - D share the same signage and using a HDMI-DVI cable or adapter HDMI-DVI and HDMI Cable will solve your problem. For two monitors running on your computer, please connect as follows:

Computer > HDMI-DVI cable or adapter HDMI-DVI and HDMI Cable > HP w2207h monitor

Computer > VGA cable > HP f1703 monitor

  • HP Pavilion 23-q055na: connect a second monitor to an HP Pavilion 23-q055na all-in-one

    Hello

I just bought a new HP Pavilion 23-q055na printer all in one and wonder if it is possible to connect a second monitor. It has an HDMI output, but my second monitor had a DVI connection (DVI - D single link).

It doesn't seem to be DVI to HDMI converters for sale online, but I don't want to lose my money if it's not going to work.

Anyone has any advice on the best way to connect a second monitor to this PC?

    Thank you

    Ali

    Hi there @Haikugirl

The best choice for you would be a screen that supports a HDMI input you don't need to work with an adapter, at all.  However, there are adapters on the market due to the fact that many adapters are often necessary, and I used the flavors varied in many different situations with great success. In general, I would do some research on the specific device and the brand and are looking for comments before you plan to buy an adapter.

It can never be guaranteed that any device will work in all cases, but if you find a device from a renowned manufacturer, then chances are strongly in your favor.

I would like to begin by ensuring that the DVI input on the monitor works well, before considering an adapter. If it is intermittent in some way, then it is probably not your best choice.

Just my two cents. I hope it helps.

  • How to add a second monitor to my HP - Pavilion 500

I am trying to add a second monitor to my desktop HP Pavilion 500 (model No. 500-189) and met with many problems. At the back of my PC there is a video output that comes with several adapters, but under a plastic cover, there is an another VGA port I have my second monitor plugged into. When I restart the computer, the loading screen appears on the screen to spare, but the lock screen then appears on the primary monitor. I went to the screen resolution setting page and discovered that the computer has not detected the second monitor at all, I pressed on detect a couple of times and he couldn't find it. If anyone knows why this is happening and how to fix it please let me know. Moreover, the second monitor I'm trying to connect to is a LG Flatron and the main monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster.

  • Flag 23: connect second monitor

Is it possible that I can connect another monitor to my 23 pavilion desktop?  What would buy or download?

    Thank you in advance!

There is no external monitor port, but you can get a connection usb 2.0 or 3.0 (would need the full model number to know that you have) hdmi adapter and connect a second monitor. USB 2.0 adapters tend to be slow and aren't good, even for things like the youtube video but will endeavour to show documents and others. Adapters USB 3.0, on the other hand, do a good job of rendering video.

It will come with the necessary drivers and once installed correctly it will appear as a second screen that you can clone or extend the desktop.
