  They should fit you will have to climb on your HARD drive cage if there is an and that you may need a spacer inserted as some SSDS have a spacer for the filling of vacuum.

  I can't recommend a disk of 60 gigs. A base installation of Windows will run about 20 concerts and you have hibernation files and to restore files, applications (MS Office is 10 GIG more) and these and before you know it the drive will be full. You actually can't fill 100% so the actual capacity is above about 55 concerts. Yes, I'll tell you get a 128 gig. Here's a concert 128 for not much extra money:

  As long as this is the same computer, you can always reinstall Windows 7 and reactivate by phone:

In any case their links I have for what seem to be simple. Directory for saving files using programs will be on the HARD drive. Can still move after anyway

  It's great that you decided to do a new installation instead of cloning. Cloning of a HDD failure can cause a lot of problems in the long term.

  When you install Windows be sure to disconnect your old drive HARD and WD Black drive PC's HARD otherwise, Windows install will place the system partition booked on one of the hard drives.
  The drivers, you can just put on a USB stick and install from the USB after Windows is installed. Good luck.

  Welcome to the forums of HP.

  You can replace your HDD with a SSD or SSHD.

  This should be a 2.5 inch SATAIII / SATA3 ssd to reach the maximum speed of your laptop.

  Be aware that there is no option to keep your hard drive, unless you use a ultrabay.

  Also, be aware that you need to copy your current HARD drive in your SSD, otherwise you won't have windows 8

  In a few days time Santa is put me an SSD, OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB.

  I think to clone the drive following this guide: http://www.ssdfreaks.com/content/664/how-to-clone-hdd-to-ssd-with-windows-7s-own-software and I'm a little confused on the partitions that are currently on the disk.

  I have:

  Local disk C: 552,55 gb,

  LENOVO 28.8 GB D:

  and a partition unassigned 14.75 GB.

  Does anyone know what contains the unassigned partition? I guess that's the One - Key recovery software? If this is the case, then I intend on deleting the D: Partition, which currently contains drivers, narrows the C:\ about 100 GB and cloning then the C:\ 100 GB and partition unassigned... will this work?

  I got my Vertex 3 today and it is ridiculously fast. Totally recommend it if you can afford it. Anyway, I discovered how do I reinstall my laptop, and I'm going to ask you now:

  (1) One Key Recovery Opened and clicked on 'create recovery disk', followed by 'default recovery drive '.

  (2) thought - sod it, I'll just stay in my new SSD and see what happens. Inserted, set the BIOS to boot from the DVD drive, and then install windows.

  (3) gain?

  In fact, I found myself with

  C:\ 96,84 GB

  Partion unnamed (14, 75 GB) - this is the area of a key recovery

  Unnamed (200 mb) - partition likely etc boot sector reserved by operating system - seen elsewhere on other systems and is quite normal!

  So yes, that happened on a NEW SSD building, which had not been formatted before - OneKey Recovery did everything by himself.

  No it's just that HP offered when it was new. A 500 GB or 1 TB SSD would not be a problem. All 2.5 inches wide and 9.5 or 7 mm thick hard SATA or SSD will work.

  It is not possible to move the content. This can cause applications to malfunction. However the next time you install a program, you can choose where you want to install it.

  I have a x 230 with a 320 GB of HDD (7500 RPM) and want to replace it with an SSD for a fully automated machine.

  Right now, most of the time the only sound I hear the machine is the rotation of the disk HARD and TP Fancontrol watch that especially fans are not at all turns. I can afford a 128 GB SSD, but I am confused if I should replace the HDD with a SSD or complete with an mSATA SSD and install Windows, instead. The latter of course would give me 320 GB of HARD drive space, which would be nice, but my priority is the silence, so I need to know if the HARD drive can be powered completely except when I need files from it? If the HARD disk wakes up now and then because of some hidden Windows processes that I can't control, I'd rather than with an ordinary SSD instead of the mSATA SSD. I can live with less space.

  Control Panel (Power Options) and Lenovo Power Manager settings for the hard disk turns off after a period of inactivity. However, the settings apply to all readers.   Can I move the default location of my catalog (currently: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs) to another drive?  It turns out that I don't have the space on the C drive to perform a migration.  I have been using PSE for some time on my Windows system (Vista) and running version 9.  I recently installed version 10 and failed to install during the migration of catalog.  I went back to 9, repaired the catalog, provided to all media was found and repeat the attempt to load to 10.

  The system configuration:

  Drive (SSD) C - 7 GB free, default program location, the catalog size 18 GB

  D drive - media location, total size 36 GB

  Drive E - desired location to the catalog

  Any other suggestions?  I'm stuck here.

  Open the catalog and use the help... System Info to see the exact location of the catalog directory.  Use Windows Explorer to copy the entire catalog directory and all of its subfolders to your desired location.  Open PSE and use the file... Catalog to open the Catalog Manager and select "Custom location" and then navigate to the new location.

  I'd do it in PSE9, and once you are unsure that the new location works perfectly, you can use Windows Explorer to remove the former location of the catalog.

  Then you can try PSE10.
