PDF of naming using para.style applied

Hi Forum!

Any body could twist on this script.please.

While runnig the script, I could able to export PDFS. The pdf of naming will be content inside the document on everypage, on which paragraphStyle "Title" is applied.

The problem is, if the pargraphStyle "Title" is applied twice once in a page, the PDF is produced twice once for the same page the same so now.

for example. The definition of 'Title' is applied to content "XYZ" on page 1and the "123" content on page 2.

Result of this pdf 4 are produced. XYZ_1.PDF, XYZ_2.pdf and 123_1.pdf and 123_2.pdf...  My need is to have the pdf product only once for content that was "Tittle" applied definition.

your problem is easily solved by adding the name of pdf page number:

app.activeDocument.exportFile (ExportFormat.pdfType, file ("/ users/xxxx/Office/Local/without title file /" + pdf_name + "_" + p.toString () + ".pdf"), false);

as much as possible, avoid using the break statement (unless you use it in a statement 'switch').

    Can someone explain how to use paragraph Styles? OMG! This is so difficult for me to kiss - I can't seem to understand how to create a paragraph style in a document, in the first place, then I don't seem to be able to apply it to the rest of paragraphs in the document.  Whenever I have try this I lose the track and then I lose patience!

    I do appreciate this forum and hope someone can clarify this issue for me, I am eternally grateful. I'm trying to gather some my illustrations and story in a booklet for children and I need to get out to publishers (fingers crossed!) until I forget why I started to be a student in graphic design and Illustration in the first place

    I've been there. It was a long time ago, but I still remember the confusion and despair.

    First, know that you will survive and ask what was the hang up. If you are a special person, do you promise never to forget what was the hang up, then you can help others when it is time to pay back the community.

    Think about how things work without paragraph styles. When you want a paragraph to look a certain way, regardless of the software you have used to work with text, you select ("highlight") some text and look for ways to style it (check its appearance, or 'attributes' or 'features' or 'features'.) You choose a font (Helvetica, Times, etc.) weight ("BOLD", extra bold, light), a color of text, an angle (italic, Roman), the space between the lines ("leading,") space between paragraphs (space before, space after,) and so on. Without named styles, you must select each property in a menu or a list when the text is selected. The next time that you want this same paragraph look, you can recall everything you did and repeat with newly selected text, or you can copy and paste one that looks, then change the text inside.

    However, it does take long to realize that he has to be a way to save these settings and pull them up and slap them on the other selections, with a few clicks and make sure that you don't forget to do something. Creation and registration of collection of a paragraph of the property settings are called "define a style." Software for manipulation of more modern text can save paragraph styles that apply to full paragraphs, and they can also save character styles, which apply to parts of the text in a paragraph. You can always select text in a paragraph and find a menu that offers characters bold or italic in the selected text. But you can also create a character for each of these apparitions style and apply them to music. As for paragraph styles, character styles are more controllable and more useful than simply highlight and apply a property. If, you use a character style that applies "BOLD", you can change its character style definition and all the places it is used in a document will show the change.

    Here is an example which shows the usefulness of the styles of characters named:

    According to the standard style for writing guides that have been developed before computers, scientific names, the words of the foreign language in a host as the English language, the titles of the documents, movies and poems and a few other things are supposed to be italicized. With character styles, you can create and apply styles of characters for each category of text in italics. In this forum, * sapiens, The Pentagon Papers and Gone With the Wind, all look the same, but with character styles, styles, named 'scientificName', 'bookTitle', and 'filmTitle', can distinguish between texts in italics. Sometimes, you gotta be able to treat these things differently, and styles is a way to keep them organized.

    Most writing tools can create a style named for the existing sample. So, if you have customized a paragraph for your body text, you can use InDesign to set the body of the paragraph in the example chosen style.

    What are the settings of your printer wants? Some may deal with sRGB some want Adobe RGB Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-k in Photoshop, then choose North Amercian prepress 2

    Here is a summary of the settings PDF and their meaning:

    When you are ready to create a PDF file from an application such as Illustrator or InDesign Adobe, we give you a list of the predefined PDF settings from which to choose. Well how do you decide which is the right choice? Well, let me explain what they do.

    Let's start with the smallest file size and the name of the type of the story. It is compatible with Acrobat 6, which means that anyone who has Reader or Acrobat 6 or above will be able to open the file. Now it converts everything in sRGB color which is a common space for color monitor.

    All RGB is truncated to sRGB, CMYK and spot colors also. So that means if you have a job to print, you can see some color shifts in this outgoing PDF. You must decide whether it is acceptable. He can't stand live transparency, not flattened. It downsize image content to 100 pixels per inch and this is part of how she made a reduced file size. It can large enough crat files if you have large size images in your project and that it is suitable for professional printing.

    The idea behind X-1 is if you send a PDF file to an unknown printer, you do not know what are their capabilities, you send abroad, it will be able to be photographed on any device. No matter the age, it is, they can print. Over the years, the concepts of Exchange became more sophisticated the workflow and devices become more sophisticated.

    SP PDF / X-3: 2002, remains compatible with Acrobat 4 and that means that it flattens transparency, but it does not perform any color conversion.

    So what predefined PDF is Right For You? Well, if you want to send for printing, the first thing you should do is to ask your printer how they want the created PDF.

    They should be able to give you the plug for the creation of the PDF file. They may be able to give you job options files you can simply import and use as your preset target. But if it's a stranger the printer or the printer for some reason any said, well, I don't know, just make a PDF and this happens, well, choose the lowest common denominator to the PDF/X-1 test. Anyone can image that. If it is a more modern printer and up to date, especially if you send it to someone who uses digital presses, PDF/X-4 should be safe.

    I always go back to point one, ask the printer. If you send it as an attachment or you're going to post online, well, smaller size of file is a pretty clear choice. But remember this, you can start with one of these predefined parameters, and you can always edit it to customize your specific needs. So get to know the presets, understand the destiny of the PDF you create, and then make the best PDF that you can.

    I wanted just a checking the direction of your InDesign experts.

    When I create a numbered list when there are paragraphs separate 'child' who "belong" to the paragraph numbered list real (see below) how do I use paragraph styles for formatting the list?

    Currently I apply a style numbered list to each of the bold numbered paragraphs and just a style of body text indented paragraphs of the child. Is this fair?

    Also, is there a power automatically apply a style to the last bullet in a list (as with the last CSS child selector) so that I can have a small space after each of my balls except the last one where I would want a larger space.

    Is this fair? Yes. And if you want the style of paragraph number somehow, each model numbered to give his name to the list.

    The styles will be applied by you. To get the last point in space after, add this attribute to its own paragraph style, perhaps also giving it a keep with previous keep option.

  • Automated Table of contents using incorrect styles

    I got the InDesign to generate the table of contents for me based on the styles that I created. In most cases, this works very well except for a few cases where some of the generated elements have the applied incorrect character style.

    For example, I have a paragraph called Sub header style. In the settings Table of contents window, I have subheader put in place for the TOC entry under heading style. Each time the Sub header entry appears, it theoretically should use the table of contents under heading style in the table of contents. Unfortunately, for reasons I cannot quite understand, this isn't happening. Most of the entries under the header appear correctly, using the Sub TOC header, but some of them are filling in the table of contents with adaptations of the character style that have been used in the body.

    Does anyone know a way around this? If my example was not clear enough, let me know what I need to study in detail, and I'll do it.

    It is a normal behavior. Local Overides and character styles are preserved when points are awarded to a new style. You can avoid this by using nested styles or styles built GREP style intothe defintion to apply special formatting (because they are part of the definition of paragraph style that they are not substitutions and will not be kept), or if this is not possible, you can make a topic non-printable to use instead and apply the paragraph style and then make a copy of the style and give a new name (just the base on the other model and nothing else than the name change) and apply it to one with character style replacements, so it does not appear in the table of contents.

  • Creating a whole box all four sides of the para style?

    Hello everyone. I have a survey re: InDesign CS2. I ask a lot of books that have boxes around certain blocks of text for emphasis. As I see I have several options here - I can copy the text in its own framework with an outline and moving back into position by dragging it around then as text changes dictate, or I can paste the new area within the existing framework, so automatically moves the new box, but might split on another page which is not pleasant visually. IDEALLY... I would create a paragraph style that creates a box, or the illusion of one year, around her. Including a shadow would be even better, but it seems that a lot of things to ask - of course it is possible to add rules above and below the text automatically, so I wonder if there is a quick way to go a step further to create a 'complete' outline, whether in fact a box or something using rules around a style.

    I had a read around and using the option "convert text to table", then handle the vascular accident brain/dash creates the perfect result. But I'll still have to change the race of 1 point (too heavy) and indent text each time. It is achievable, but can I somehow save this feature as a preset in the table or maybe para style?

    You can create a single cell table in harmony with the rest of the text. Use Cell Styles and table to quickly format the table as you want.

  • using C++ style comments (/ /) in my C code

    One of my colleagues asked me if he can use / / as long as comments in its Pro * C code. He used it in 10.2.0.3 customer environment (pcscfg.cfg is the same) and he says it works (gcc 3.4.6 under Linux 32-bit and 64-bit), but he says it doesn't with 10.2.0.1 customer environment.

    So my question is: is this really problem with the version of the Oracle client? I am the ADMINISTRATOR and I will not install the Group of patches to update its customer environment to 10.2.0.3 for him to be able to use / / style comments in C code

    Note: it is using C not C++, but that he wants to use / / type of comments in his code C with Pro * C

    I found this in the Pro * C programmers Guide and informed my colleague, but he insists on the fact that it generates C++ code, this is why he does not want to use it. He thinks simply using 10.2.0.3 customer environment will solve his problem.

    Thanks for posting that, it is clear now. Unfortunately, I have nothing to offer at this stage.

    I can say that comments C "normal" from the file like this don't produce the error:

    Somewhere between 10.2.0.1 and 10.2.0.4 (the only other 10.2 version I have right now) there was a change of marker or Pro * C code that solves this problem. I found nothing in MetaLink to this topic, but it is difficult to ' / ' as a search term.

    I guess the best thing to do is to apply the patch to the client, so this does not work if it is so important. Good course by applying the patch you will have also some bugs have been implemented since the base 10.2.0.1 release as well as that of it.

  • How can I get PDF listed in 'Options' &gt; 'applications '? I want to stop the FF pdf reader and use the Tracker pdf viewer.

    I use FF 21.0 Desktop ruinning Windows 7-64.

    I want to stop FF pdf viewer and use my Tracker pdf viewer, as I did before the addition of FF look a pdf.
    I tried to go into options > applications, but it is not listed for pdf display line other than a single line for Tracker.
    I think I need a line that mentions PDFs in the left column, then a list in the right column, allowing me to use the Tracker (if all goes well as a plugin).

    I am lost at this point and would like to have the older FF with no look at pdf, built in.

    Help please.

    Files should always be downloaded if you want to open.

    Some are saved in the cache disk (Flash for example) and others in the temp folder (those passed to other external programs and plugins).

    What happens if you disable the Adobe Acrobat plugin (not the extension to create a PDF file, leave it active). Here's how you can try this:

    Open the page modules using either:

    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

    In the left column, click on Plugins. On the right side, find "Adobe Acrobat" and change the permission 'never enable '.

    Then in the Options page, Applications Panel, change your preference for "Portable Document Format (PDF)" to "Always ask" so you get the dialog box to download instead of the PDF, open in a tab.
